Marcus Leary shares his and his fiancees hurricane horror.
Transcript
00:00We had a nice little special occasion. I proposed to my missus, which was nice.
00:04I don't think she was expecting it at all, but no, it was nice.
00:08Nice little sunset on the beach and whatnot.
00:11And then what happened whilst you were there?
00:13Oh, we had that hurricane, didn't we?
00:14Yeah, we had an absolutely terrible hurricane in Jamaica,
00:18which wiped out the hotel, closed everything down, so...
00:22Yeah, we were a can't-be-caught storm, definitely.
00:27And were you worried about your safety at the time?
00:31A lot of people were worried about it.
00:33They were saying in the hotel, put your mattress up against your balcony doors
00:38and your fitted wardrobe up and stuff like that.
00:41And it just, I think it panicked everyone.
00:43But no, no, it was definitely bad. Yeah, it was definitely bad.
00:46And were you last worried as well?
00:49Yeah, she had a right panic on. She loved to sit in the bathroom for two hours.
00:53And had you already proposed before the hurricane hit?
00:57Yeah, it was two days before.
01:00So, luckily, we got that out of the way and then, yeah, we were all right.
01:04We got 24 hours in a locked-in bedroom, so it could be worse.
01:11And then where are you hoping to go on honeymoon once you do get married?
01:14I don't know, Sophie, that's a bit too in advance that.
01:18We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
01:21Will you be going away again any time soon?
01:24Yes, I think we're going to go again at the end of September.
01:26Same place?
01:27No, no, not the same place, no.
01:29We're going to go somewhere quite warm, so I guarantee a bit of sun.
01:33Rather than a hurricane and rain, yeah?
