00:00Hi there, this is the p sound, as in the words place, play and pay.
00:12It is a sound from the consonant pairs group and it is called the voiceless bilabial stop.
00:22This means that you use both of your lips to block your mouth.
00:27The p sound is made through the mouth and it is unvoiced, which means that you don't
00:34use your vocal cords to make the sound.
00:38It is defined by the shape of your lips and the motion of air flow through your mouth.
00:44It is a stop sound which means it is a sound made by building up air pressure by stopping
00:51air flow and then releasing it.
00:53In this case you use both of your lips to form the stop and then release.
00:59To produce the sound bring both of your lips together and build up some pressure in your
01:05mouth and then release it.
