00:30How many years did I spend waiting to have been born a different man?
00:52I look around, all I've ever known are someone else's memories.
00:59All these years seeing the world through someone else's eyes,
01:03looking at photographs, pretending I'm the photographer.
01:09I've lived my life through the eyes of men, and I'll never even know.
01:33Waiting, like in a dream.
01:54It's starting to drive me crazy.
02:02The time I've wasted protecting my fragile immune system,
02:06preserving what little of my time I still have left to waste.
02:20Every day since I was born I'm growing weaker,
02:25and every day I've scowled at my condition,
02:29cursing it as though it's been my captor.
02:37I see it now, the scowl is my captor.
02:54Dear sister, in spite of my disease, I promise to make these memories through my own eyes.
03:04To watch a city come to life at night, to embrace friends,
03:10to see the powerful play go on, to contribute my own verse.
03:17I want to feel wet sand of an empty beach between my toes.
03:23I will not live my life through the eyes of men, I'll never know.
03:28Godspeed, Benjamin.
