00:00Today is the day opening ceremonies in Paris under the Eiffel Tower along the
00:10River Seine. That will be the story on this Friday afternoon 7 30 p.m. Eastern
00:15or 7 30 p.m. local time in Paris 1 30 p.m. Eastern time here stateside. That's
00:22when the opening ceremonies of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games officially get
00:28underway. So we get you set for everything that you will see this
00:32weekend as the Olympics fully start. Of course we have had some action on the
00:36soccer pitch and in various other sports over the previous two games to kind of
00:41make sure we keep pace with all the sports and matches that need to be
00:45played in Paris. Donny right side scale of 1 to 10. How excited are you for the
00:51opening ceremonies today in Paris? You might be tuning in here might just want
00:56to check it out. Heard it's supposed to be an exciting time. We want to see
00:59LeBron James. We want to see a lot of people out there, the superstar athletes
01:03of the U. S. But let me ask this question because this will dictate how
01:06excited I might be here for the Olympiad over there in Paris. Are we
01:11going to get tape delayed action then? Because this is what I asked. It worked
01:16in the seventies in the eighties in the nineties and early two thousands. Hey,
01:20you know what? Gold medal was just won by superstar athlete. Nobody knows.
01:24Let's keep it hush because the news won't travel and then we'll play a
01:27prime time as if everybody's going to enjoy it together. We're on a massive
01:31time difference here. So am I led to believe that I'm gonna watch you carry
01:34Richardson when I already know she won a gold medal in prime time because
01:38that's where they wanted to be in U. S. Prime time that I'm supposed to get
01:41excited for something I already know about. Please tell me that's not gonna
01:44be the case here because if it is, I'm not going to be excited if they do keep
01:48it just live. Let's go. I like it. I do not believe we will see any tape
01:55delays again. It's only a six hour difference, so not overly drastic. There
01:59might be some things late night in prime time in Paris, but I believe a
02:03lot of the Olympic schedule has been catered to us here in the U. S. So many
02:09of those United States basketball games and the big marquee events will
02:13probably be around 1 30 to 3 p.m. Eastern time. At least that is my guess.
02:19That would be 7 39 p.m. Local time there in France. But I think we'll be
02:25here live with some afternoon viewing to be a part of. I'm sure there will be
02:30some things where we look back when they have the, you know, the prime time
02:34Paris Olympic coverage here, at least stateside. But I think a lot of it will
02:40be live. Don't take my word for it. I don't work for NBC. I am not in the
02:45planning of their network coverage. Let's get to some Olympic headlines as
02:49we have shared. LeBron James, Coco Goff, the flag bearers for America today at
02:56the opening ceremonies. LeBron James, the first men's basketball player ever
03:01to carry the flag. Coco Goff, the first tennis player. Correct me if I'm wrong
03:05to carry the flag for Team U. S. A. But Olympic action has already started.
03:11Team U. S. A. Women's soccer winning yesterday. Three zip in their opener
03:15against Zambia. That is what Donny right side wants. Full investment into
03:21the women's national team. That is our bright spot in international soccer.
03:26However, this U. S. Olympic team has to answer a couple of doubts. A bronze in
03:32the Tokyo games three summers ago. Of course, they were knocked out for the
03:37first time ever in the knockout round at the World Cup. Yeah, and we are
03:43going to have the answer for that, and we need to have a stronger performance
03:47and getting at least to the gold medal game probably is what we need to have
03:50to see here for a team U. S. A. For the women winning, it should be an
03:53expectations such a far different expectation where the managers hoping
03:57that I don't know, score. How about this team? U. S. A. Women hoping to win a
04:01gold medal. Team U. S. A. Man hoping to score a goal like we're on just
04:05different levels at this point right now. So I'm on Team U. S. A. For the
04:08women's side. I want to watch them play through and also from Team U. S. A.
04:12The men's side. Can you just show me something? Just don't embarrass yourself
04:17once again on the biggest stage. Come on, we gotta get D. R. S. Either a
04:21Trinity Rodman jersey who scored an absolutely sick spin move goal
04:26yesterday. The daughter, of course, of Dennis Rodman, maybe Rose Lavelle,
04:30former Wisconsin Badger. Get you one of those kits. The R. S. You look pretty
04:35good. Yeah, by the way, like the color scheme yesterday for Team U. S. A. The
04:39ladies rolling out there with that was a very nice uniform that me being the
04:43aficionado of what you can and can't rock. Of course, I approved of those
04:46fashionable yesterday. I did. Yep. Fashion police. We already have our
04:50first large scandal at the Olympic Games. The Canadian spying scandal in
04:56women's soccer based on drone footage of New Zealand practice earlier this
05:01week. It had led to the dismissal of a non accredited individual with
05:06Canadian soccer and an assistant coach. Now the skipper, the head coach, Bev
05:12Priestman, sent home by the Canadian Federation. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Our friendly
05:18neighbors from up north. Donnie, you say if you ain't cheating, you ain't
05:22trying. The Olympic Committee says not so fast. Yeah, maybe she'll reappear on
05:28the sideline like Connor Stallions and just have like a mustache or a wig on
05:32or something like that, where nobody would know who she even is at this
05:35point. But I do. I do like the fact that the Olympics apparently takes things
05:39more serious than our professional sports. So shout out the Olympics for
05:43making the right move here. I would love nothing more than Bev Priestman in a
05:47USA disguise with a hat, sunglasses and a goatee getting out there like Connor
05:53Stallions. They might make a Netflix documentary about Priestman one day.
05:57Rafael Nadal. We will have plenty of tennis notes for Olympic tennis played
06:02at Roland Garros in Paris, the same place they play the French Open. From
06:06the mind of our producer and tennis aficionado Joe Friese later on in our
06:11three, that should be a very fun segment. But Rafael Nadal's status in
06:15doubt for singles at the Paris Olympic Games injured during preparation. Of
06:21course, we brought you all of his matches last week at the Swedish Open.
06:26Yeah, by the way, Rafael Nadal is getting to that stage where he's like
06:29me at this point, dude's getting out of bed and getting injured. It's time to
06:32hang it up. You had a great career. Just relax, sit it out. No problems. By the
06:37way, you and Tiger Woods just sit this thing out, have fun, do commercials and
06:41enjoy the rest of your life. Donnie right side, the Colin Montgomery to
06:45Tiger Woods, what he is now to Rafael Nadal. Joe Friese calls the setback and
06:50I quote Djokovic in round two itis as though he's scared of Novak Djokovic and
06:57a singles match that could potentially await. All right, let's look at what the
07:01U. S. Is expected to do at the Paris Olympic Games to have the most golds
07:06minus 5 50. The only competition really China plus 3 50 U. S. A. For the most
07:11medals minus 2000 the Chinese at 13 to 1. There has already been some
07:16conversation D. R. S. About potential doping at the Olympics and a lot of a
07:22look at China. Just throwing that out there at the moment. So we're so
07:27there's scandals before the scandal. So we're getting into boxing now where
07:30it's like, okay, we know everybody's juiced up, but let's let him do the
07:33Olympics so it doesn't harm the actual occasion. Then when the Olympics are
07:36over, we'll tell whoever was doping. We have to take your medals away, but
07:39didn't affect the competition. That's what I was like. Like, honestly, Ben
07:42with like boxing, like, let's compare it to the Olympics. These guys test,
07:45like, get the test back and say, No, you can't go into the ring. You are
07:49juicing up. Why do they always let the boxers go? Similar here is what we're
07:52finding out with the, you know, men's national teams here and the women's
07:56national team. I don't know why we just can't eradicate that beforehand.
08:00I don't either, but apparently the IOC has not done a great job of it. I'm
08:05trying to see how many Olympic gold medals the United States has won in its
08:10history. As I scroll down here to show you the over under of the total medal
08:14count. 1061. Heck yeah, America were expected at 41 and a half to maybe get
08:23to that over under this time around. All right, let's talk specific teams that
08:28that can make some noise. Men's basketball minus 400. Women's
08:32basketball was minus 3500. Now down to minus 2400. Is that because they lost
08:38the team? W. M. B. A.
08:41I don't know. Like, I don't know why we try to make we expecting some
08:45suspensions here. What are we expecting here? Does somebody know something we
08:48don't know? Yeah. Freezo get on that team. W. M. B. A. Would also win gold
08:52medal if they went to the Olympic Games. Women's soccer two to one going
08:57to be a tightly contested race with Spain. We'll show you some individual
09:02favorites a little bit later on in our show like tennis, golf and make sure
09:08you pay attention to one of the bright superstars that you will see at the
09:11Olympic Games should carry Richardson as Donny highlighted earlier this week.
