00:00I believe the phrase is, the plot thickens.
00:03There's been a lot of talk since the assassination attempt on Donald Trump about exactly what
00:11hit his ear.
00:12How close was the bullet?
00:14No one's disputing whether or not there were shots fired, but how close was the bullet?
00:19Was it actually a bullet that ended up striking his ear?
00:22He quickly came out, as did his doctor, and said, yes, indeed, it was a bullet that grazed
00:28his ear.
00:29I think they actually said ripped through his ear, is what they said.
00:33We have described it as graze.
00:36We're going to talk about a story that we broke literally an hour after the shooting
00:42that aligns with what the FBI director told Congress yesterday.
00:47Right.
00:48Here is what Director Wray had to say during his testimony.
00:51I think with respect to former President Trump, there's some question about whether or not
00:59it's a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.
01:02It's conceivable, as I sit here right now, I don't know whether that bullet, in addition
01:07to causing the grazing, could have also landed somewhere else, but I believe we've accounted
01:13for all of the shots and the cartridges, so let us get that.
01:17It's my understanding that the very first one was the one that hit the president.
01:20Is that the very first shot, or is that not accurate?
01:24As I sit here right now, I don't know the answer to that.
01:26I believe we know the answer to that.
01:27I just don't have it in front of me.
01:29So let us tell you what we found out an hour after the shooting.
01:37We spoke to somebody who is a very well-connected source, who was in touch with the Secret Service.
01:44We got three things back.
01:47Number one, two people were in the hospital.
01:51That actually checked out, and we didn't know, and nor was the media reporting that there
01:56were two people in the hospital.
01:57So that was the first thing.
01:59The second thing we were told was that the shooter was killed by the Secret Service.
02:05That had not yet been reported, but that checked out, and so whoever was giving our source
02:12this information clearly knew something because those two things were accurate.
02:16The third thing that this person told our source was that, and this is the way it was
02:24laid out because I spoke to the source, that Trump was hit by shattered glass.
02:31Now I don't know what glass was shattered.
02:34I don't know if any glass was shattered, frankly, but it is really interesting that this came
02:41via the Secret Service to our source, and this was an hour after the shooting, and why
02:49would they say that if there wasn't something behind it?
02:53You know what I mean?
02:54It's also just interesting and maybe alarming that more than two weeks beyond the shooting
03:02at this point, the FBI director doesn't have that information.
03:06I understand that Donald Trump is not in office at this point, so they wouldn't have the direct
03:11contact with him, but he does have a Secret Service detail, which certainly communicates
03:16with the FBI.
03:17Yeah, but I think that he has spoken, Trump has spoken with his personal physician who
03:21has informed everybody that it was a bullet that hit his ear, and I don't think there's
03:26been a real opportunity for anybody.
03:29You'd have to examine the president, the former president, in order to know the answer for
03:33sure, I think, and he's not exactly going to make himself available for examination.
03:37I think we are stuck where we are in terms of knowing whether it was a bullet or a piece
03:42of glass that hit him, unless somebody else is going to give an examination of the ear.
03:45I think we've got to say out of the gate here.
03:49It doesn't really matter, because the fact is that this shooter was going after Donald
03:54Trump and was trying to assassinate him.
03:55The bigger issue here is what the failures of the Secret Service, that's the bigger issue.
03:59That's the big issue.
04:00I guess the only reason that people are making a point of this is that Donald Trump in the
04:05past has lied about things, and there are people who feel like they're going to get
04:09him and catch him in another lie.
04:11This one seems, if it is a lie, seems inconsequential.
04:15The only thing that's consequential is the narrative is he came within a hair's breadth
04:21of being assassinated.
04:22Well, he definitely still did.
04:23But he did.
04:24He did.
04:25Right.
04:26By the way, in terms of what you're saying, and you are absolutely right, the massive
04:28failure of the Secret Service is the bigger issue.
04:30We have a documentary that will drop on Sunday on Tubi, TMZ Presents, Under Fire, the Trump
04:38assassination attempt.
04:40We get into this with eyewitnesses.
04:42We get into this with former Secret Service agents.
04:45We really drill down into the failures and what actually happened that day.
04:50Hey, it's McCully in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
04:53First of all, on this Trump assassination, new tidbit of information, it just adds another
04:58potential conspiracy theory to a story that the last thing it needed was another layer
05:03of conspiracy theory for people to delve into and examine.
05:06But like you guys are saying, the bottom line is an assassination attempt on Trump happened,
05:12whether it was shrapnel or a bullet.
05:13And the only thing it really changes is his narrative of, best assassination attempt ever.
05:18I took a bullet.
05:20That is the thing.
05:21Yeah, that is the thing.
05:24Bad impression, but get your point.
05:26Hey, you know what?
05:27Not everybody's going to nail it, but everyone tries.
05:28Bill Maher nails it.
05:29Yeah.
