00:00I'm at the Farnborough International Airshow. We've got to try out all this new tech. So
00:05today I'm going to be pilot of an aircraft of the future, an electric vertical take-off
00:11and landing aircraft, which is kind of like an electric helicopter. Now at the moment
00:16the people who are buying these are those who might be considering buying a helicopter
00:21or maybe a firm that has a charter service. But the long-term vision is for this to be
00:26the way we do our daily commute. I know what you're thinking, this is going to be really
00:30expensive but right now they've worked out it's around $200 for a 100km journey. If you're
00:37thinking gosh well that is still a little bit steep, well it's probably the same price
00:42as a train ticket in the first class cabin. But the thing about these is that they're
00:46much greener and sustainability is a big thing in the aviation world. So if we could make
00:51our commutes greener, they might be on to something. Let's give it a go. I need to strap
00:56in. So now I'm just going to put the headset on and fly this thing.
01:03I can see you flying. Yes. I'm flying. My stomach's actually gone.
01:23Well that was quite an experience. I absolutely felt that I was flying this thing. Maybe it
01:30is the future. But you know what, it's one of many, many new innovations and exciting
01:34technology here on the show at the Barnsford International Airshow 2024.
