00:00How does it feel to be back at Betis?
00:24It feels great. It feels like I never left the club. I said in my presentation last Monday, I was 11 wonderful years in the Premier League, I really enjoyed my time there.
00:40I got experience, I got game, I got title, but back to Real Betis, back to my home, back to my city, back to the club that gave me the opportunity to be the player that I am now.
00:52So obviously I'm like a kid with new shoes, ready to give my best, to train hard every day and obviously to use the opportunity when I have to play.
01:06How does it feel to be back at Betis?
01:14It feels great. It feels like I never left the club. I said in my presentation last Monday, I was 11 wonderful years in the Premier League, I really enjoyed my time there.
01:28I got experience, I got game, I got title, but back to my home, back to my home that gave me the opportunity to be the player that I am now.
01:36So obviously I'm like a kid with new shoes, ready to give my best, to train hard every day and obviously to use the opportunity when I have to play.
01:44Andrew, following you on social media, it looks like it's been an emotional couple of months, leaving Liverpool, going back to Sevilla and obviously the fantastic announcement video as well.
01:56Has it been an emotional time?
01:59To be honest, it's been really intense the last few weeks, months I would say, with a lot of negotiation with Real Betis, with Liverpool as well as they offered me an extension of contract.
02:11So first of all, I just say thank you to them to give me that opportunity to continue in the club.
02:17But as I said before, that opportunity came, came back home and I have to use that opportunity.
02:24As we say in life, the train pass, just one time I have to catch that train.
02:28So that train is Real Betis, so here I am now defending this badge.
02:33And obviously with a lot of emotional video that I try to express myself to the Liverpool fans as well, because I have great five seasons there with the club.
02:44We've got some good titles, we have a great moment, very special moment there with the fans.
02:50So as I have no time to say goodbye in a proper way in Anfield, so I try to make that special video very emotional.
02:58But then also quick, we have to launch the Real Betis announcement that was like rocky, it was a bit funny.
03:06Like, you know, social media of Real Betis are in another level.
03:10Yeah, as I said, the first few weeks here has been great, very intense as well.
03:16So I really enjoyed that.
05:47Muchas gracias.
06:17Es muy especial, nos cambió la mentalidad,
06:20nos puso a muchos a cambiar de dudosos a creyentes,
06:24y instauró una mentalidad muy ganadora,
06:27la mentalidad monstruosa que lo hizo famoso.
06:40Hi, this is Mateo and Ivan from Pittsburgh Latino Magazine and Radio Las Palmas.
06:46The first mandatory question that I need to ask as a local media is like,
06:51what do you think about Pittsburgh?
06:54As they both say, I love the stadium because we have a good training there.
07:00The hotel is good as well, but I have no time at all to have a look at the city.
07:08Hopefully we can have a walk before we are leaving,
07:12but I'm expecting tomorrow a great atmosphere in the stadium,
07:16people sharing and enjoying a great football game between two great teams.
07:23We are really excited to have all of you here, so thank you for visiting us.
07:27And the last question that I have is,
07:30what do you expect from the second stage that you are coming back to the Betis?
07:34Are you trying to fight for being one of the leaders,
07:38like being in the field all the time?
07:40Or do you want to be like a role model for your partners,
07:44as Joaquin or Guardado was in the Betis before?
07:51I think I could be both of them, obviously,
07:55because I'm experienced enough to share with the junglers,
08:00as I said before, to share all the experience that I have,
08:04try to help them from the dressing room, on the pitch,
08:07when I have the opportunity to play,
08:09also help and support the team from the inside of the pitch.
08:14Obviously, I have a great relation with many players from the dressing room.
08:19I could see in the last weeks of training the hunger of the group,
08:24a mix of younger and experienced players,
08:27players that obviously play in different kinds of leagues,
08:30like Premier League or Italian League.
08:34So, in that sense, I think we made a good group.
08:37As they both say, obviously, the transfer market is still open
08:41and we can't upset and join new players,
08:44and maybe some have to leave.
08:46But at the end of the day, when the season starts,
08:49all the players are fighting for the same target and for the same objective.
08:53So, I think it's clear we have to go for everything we have,
08:57try to win all the games.
08:58And the first one, obviously, is tomorrow.
09:02But it's a friendly game and the next one, most important,
09:05will be Manchester United.
09:07After that, the next one, but then the first one,
09:10an important one, with three points, is Girona.
09:13So, we're looking forward to that game and be in as better shape as possible.
09:21The first question.
09:23What do you think of Pittsburgh?
09:25Well, I love the stadium.
09:28I haven't had time to go around the city.
09:31I hope I'll have time, but in the meantime,
09:34we expect a good atmosphere in the stadium,
09:37a good atmosphere, so that everyone can enjoy a good football game.
09:42The second question.
09:44This is your second time at Betis.
09:47Do you plan to be more of a leader or a role model within the team?
09:54I think I can be both.
09:56I have the experience to be able to share with the younger players,
10:00to support them in the field.
10:03I also have a lot of experience in the dressing room,
10:07to be able to help all the players.
10:10It's a group that is very hungry,
10:13with a lot of experience in the Premier League, in Italy.
10:16So, we're going to try to win one game at a time.
10:21We have the game tomorrow, then Manchester United,
10:24then the next one, and the most important one is against Girona
10:28for the first three points.
10:32Any other questions in English?
10:35Okay, then we'll start with questions in Spanish.
