00:00Mohamed Salah was the best Premier League player of all time. His stats have been fantastic.
00:16Obviously there were some question marks around last season, but he still did produce some
00:22fantastic numbers. In terms of this season, a new manager, maybe a slight change in systems
00:29for him, whether it's going to be built around him or not. But how much can Liverpool fans
00:36expect from Mohamed Salah? Maybe even players putting him in their fantasy team as well.
00:41Would he be expected to get as many points, for example, this season?
00:44Well, Mohamed Salah will certainly be expecting at least 20 goals this season and a half-full
00:52of assists because he's set his own standards. He's come back to pre-season in magnificent,
00:58impeccable shape, as you would expect as well. And look, he's 32. People are thinking
01:03I've got plenty of miles still left to go in me. I think maybe he needs to be managed
01:11a little bit better, and that's just in terms of minutes, because he has been so durable
01:17for Liverpool. He had them two hamstring injuries last season, and then when he came back from
01:22injury, he never got going again. And maybe he just needs to think, well, I'm not a machine
01:30though, by the same token, and I am 32, and maybe I do need a little bit more rotation.
01:35And that might benefit him as well, to be honest with you. Mohamed Salah thinks, well,
01:40even if I sit out this game and I can score two the next game, then I'd be quite happy with that.
01:45I'll sit out playing a lesser team to start against Man City or Arsenal the next week and
01:52be in the absolute peak of my powers. I think you've just got to look at it rationally.
01:57Although I've been talking, Liverpool may be bringing in another right winger. Some fans
02:02would like to see that, because there's not another natural replacement. But going into
02:07the season, he'll be looking at it thinking, I've hit 20 goals for every season I've been
02:12at Liverpool, and that's my target again, especially if it is to be his last year at
02:17Anfield, because he is into the final year of his contract. Obviously, Sazi Tughal and the
02:22past has been there, and will he look at it and think, well, maybe now might be the time to bow
02:27out in this final campaign? But no, he'll be looking at it thinking that I'm still one of the
02:33top attackers in the Premier League, and he'll be setting his sights on that golden boot without a
02:40doubt. It might be hard to bail him out in the mix, but he'll definitely be hoping to hit the
02:46numbers he's used to. The best players want to play against the best teams, and that's what
02:51Mo Salah is back to now. If Liverpool just have a decent run in the Champions League,
02:55then a lot of people would be happy, but it would be a tall order to win it.
