More than RM2mil in missing funds from fixed deposit accounts of a bank in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, were transferred to 11 different bank accounts, says Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf.

At a press conference at the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) headquarters on Thursday (July 25), the CCID director stated that, despite the death of the main suspect, a female bank staff member, police investigations are still ongoing under Section 408 of the Penal Code to identify and investigate the owners of the bank accounts involved.

00:46from 14th February, 2023 to 24th June, 2024
00:55with a total of 108 transactions.
01:02This is from 3 fixed deposit accounts
01:08involving one person,
01:10another one with his wife,
01:12and also with his child.
01:14So, 3 fixed deposit accounts.
01:18These 3 accounts involve 2.4 million rupiah.
01:24The depositor was 69 years old.
01:28On 5th July,
01:32he realized that his money had been withdrawn
01:38and was informed that he had gone to the bank.
01:42Later that afternoon,
01:44a woman, a creditor at the bank,
01:47had taken her own life.
01:49So, that is his story.

01:56whether this case is still being investigated
02:00because the suspect has passed away.

02:08and the results of the investigation need to be confirmed.
