00:00The body counts are always high, but only a special few stay with us.
00:10Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we'll be counting down the Top 10 Unique Horror Movie Kills.
00:19Please be advised, this video contains mature content. We're not joking, this is going to get gnarly.
00:3110. Launched – Gremlins
00:38Kicking off our list is the electrifying amount of Christmas spirit that the gremlins bring old Mrs. Deagle.
00:43Supercharging her chairlift, the gremlins send the creepy cat lady on quite a ride.
00:50Unlike the torture porn of modern horror films, this one doesn't rely on a lot of blood or gore, and actually looks kind of fun.
00:56Except for the last part.
01:049. Garage Door – Scream
01:07This beer run goes bad when a young lady finds herself cornered in the garage with Ghostface.
01:12At first, she thinks it's all one big joke...
01:18...before getting a reality check.
01:20While she manages to put up a decent fight with the freezer door and a few beer bottles, it's her ill-conceived escape plan that's her final undoing.
01:26I guess they don't have a very big dog.
01:408. Liquid Nitrogen – Jason X
01:43Oh, poor baby. No wonder you wore this thing.
01:46In this space-age installment of the Dead Teenager series, the unkillable Jason Voorhees has been finally captured and placed in cryogenic suspension.
01:53In the year 2455, Jason is found and taken for a ride in a spaceship manned by the unluckiest crew ever.
02:01Oh, this sucks on so many levels!
02:09The most notable victim has to be his first, with whom Jason chooses to share his freezing experience.
02:18This is definitely the most bone-chilling kill ever, and oh yes, pun intended.
02:247. Lawnmower Suicide – The Happening
02:44This flick contains a laundry list of unlikely horrors after plants decide to fight back with a chemical that makes people off themselves.
02:50And you thought poison ivy was bad.
02:54As you can imagine, the results of this biochemical assault are pretty terrifying.
02:58While people casting themselves off buildings is downright horrific,
03:01it's this guy who chooses to have a lawnmower run him over that makes us fearful of yard work to this day.
03:116. The Tanning Bed – Final Destination 3
03:16Why does Siri keep it so cold in here?
03:18Maybe it's supposed to be colder for the machines or whatever.
03:20A few degrees won't hurt.
03:22While the series is already known to be all about the unexpected coincidence kills,
03:26in this case, it only solidifies an already deep mistrust of tanning beds.
03:30In the instance in question, Death has decided to make use of a broken mantelpiece,
03:34a slush drink, electrical box, air conditioning unit, a coat rack,
03:38potted plant, and a falling shelf, all to cook these poor girls alive.
03:455. Eye Trouble – Zombie 2
03:50Yeah, I'm just going to skip the beach this year.
03:575. Eye Trouble – Zombie 2
04:01When this woman is attacked by a flesh-eating zombie,
04:03she tries to block the door by herself before using furniture.
04:06Allowing herself to finally take a moment to relax,
04:09right beside the door, the zombie bursts through and grabs her hair.
04:12Pulling her through the opening, she gets a shard of wood in the eye.
04:25Dammit woman, use your hands! Do something!
04:334. Defibrillator – The Thing
04:42When an alien shapeshifter finds its way to an American research base,
04:45it systematically multiplies and kills everyone in the most horrific ways possible.
04:49When a team member seemingly has a heart attack,
04:51the doc jumps into action to try to save his comrade.
04:57Unfortunately for him, that's a ruse.
05:08Even if he'd survive getting his hands bitten off,
05:10there's no way he's going to survive this.
05:173. Bad Mattress – A Nightmare on Elm Street
05:23Freddy is definitely the baddest mother to ever support a fedora and stripes.
05:27A killer who exists in the dream world, he can only harm you while you're catching some Z's.
05:31One of the most harrowing and creative kills was in the original film,
05:35when he sucked Johnny Depp into his own mattress.
05:41Notice that we didn't actually have to see Johnny go for this scene to be pretty freakin' scary.
05:592. Head Explosion – Scanners
06:04What kind of a list would this be without a head exploding, right?
06:07A staple of the horror genre, it's best done here with a long build-up
06:10as a telepath, played by Michael Ironside, puts on his freakiest concentration face.
06:20Yeesh, I would never let that guy near my head.
06:22Just in case you're curious, this effect was achieved
06:24by blasting a prosthetic head filled with meat using a shotgun.
06:311. Chest Burst – Alien
06:38You probably knew this was coming, and here it is.
06:40This iconic horror movie kill takes the top spot for being a timeless classic
06:44that manages to blend in some pretty heavy allusions to rape.
06:50Nothing can come close to the sheer horror of birthing a xenomorph through your chest.
07:01This scene is totally organic, having been shot with actual guts from a butcher shop.
07:05And the actors look genuinely terrified because they weren't told what was going to come out beforehand.
07:15Agree with our list?
