“UNSINKABLE” tells the true story of the British tanker, the San Demetrio - one of the most extraordinary tales of heroism, fortitude, and seamanship of WW2. When the ship is attacked thousands of miles from home in enemy infested seas, a raw young officer and a handful of desperate seamen fight to survive both against the elements and themselves.

* This epic story experience is told over 3 hours 30 mins broken into an 11-episode series, each roughly 20 mins in length.

* The story transitions from deadly action at sea to heartbreaking events in Blitz-torn London and the extraordinary High Court case that resulted.

* This is not an audiobook, podcast or radio-play, there is no narrator. This is a movie for the ears.

* Led by extraordinary A-List Talent, a cast of over 37 actors created more than 100 distinct roles. The series is flooded with moments of blockbuster action, high drama, romance, comedy, deep jeopardy, and gripping tension all presented through the lens of our characters in an immersive Dolby Atmos mix.

00:00Pryan is Germany's most decorated U-boat commander, famous for sinking the battleship Royal Oak.
00:19Pryan and his U-boat were in the North Atlantic at that time on patrol. There is no evidence at
00:25all that the San Dimitrio was found or pursued in any way by a U-boat, but I felt and I strongly
00:32feel that because the U-boats were the greatest threat to the Merchant Navy and indeed to the
00:38entire survival of Britain during both world wars, that it was essential to have a U-boat
00:45in the story. We have these wonderfully dark descending tones that not only give a sense of
00:51the threat and the danger that the Pryan brings, but also this wonderful sense of depth
00:59from the submarine. And hot tea! As good as tea at the Ritz. Dear God, that's good. Aye, and risky.
01:12I don't dare light the galley range again with all those cargo fumes, but we need something hot
01:17inside us. Yes, indeed. That in fact happened. Chief Pollard took the risk of lighting the galley
01:24range, which was gas fired, despite the fumes that were floating around the ship because of
01:28all the leaking oil, and got away with it and provided that hot drink. Later on he also
01:33rigged up a bucket of water, which he fed a little steam line into in the engine room to
01:39boil up food, potatoes in particular, that they had. So yeah, that's a little true moment.
01:45Well here it comes, the horse is spelling, brace yourself! Now let's see what's what. In we go!
01:53After working incredibly hard together, the crew is able to get the fire pump going, and for the
02:00first time is actually able to make a dent in these fast fires that have been self-sustaining
02:06on board. We have this wonderful percussion coming through in the music, it gives us this sense of
02:13purpose from all of them working together. And again with the sound design, we worked hard to
02:19feel that distance between them as that pump and that hose is being utilized by the
02:25crew to eventually make some ground and give them a chance. Here's my hand.
02:33I think we're in there. Wait while I light the lamps. There you are. This is all very impressive.
02:40I built it myself, you know, as designed by Mr. Anderson. They go into the back of the, pass through
02:47the back of the house into the garden, down into what's called, what was called an Anderson shelter.
02:51This is a corrugated iron covered shelter dug half into the earth. Over three million of these
02:57were built and installed all over the United Kingdom as home shelters against the relentless
03:04bombing by the German Luftwaffe. Stop that. You just stop that. Both of you right now. I really
03:10don't think there's any call for you to. Do you know what he's carrying in that scruffy old tub?
03:16Do you? Aviation spirit, fuel for the RAF, for the spit buyers, the hurricanes, the Lancasters,
03:24thousands of tons of it, millions of gallons. Oh God. That's right. And if he doesn't get through,
03:32if too many of those scruffy old tubs get sunk, then those planes won't be able to fly and we
03:39lose the war. We have here a real coming of age moment for Maud. She's, she's had to withstand
03:47a lot of, of undercutting comments about, about her husband for quite some time.
03:54And she decides to stand up to, to both Joy and Morris. And there's really nowhere for her to go.
04:04She's in that air raid shelter. The irony of that moment, then hearing that Rolls-Royce Maryland
04:11engine fly over them, which would have been utilizing the type of fuel that crews like
04:18Arthur would have been essential in making sure that fuel was available, is not lost. And
04:25certainly moments like that, where we, we get to add that dimension of those channels from above
04:32was a really great way to, to utilize the Atmos sound imagery and to give us that,
04:38that feeling of being in that 3d space.
04:55It's been about three days since Mortimer has been able to have a drink, which can lead to
05:04all sorts of incredibly unpleasant side effects for, uh, for an alcoholic such as Mortimer.
05:09Harry was somebody that had come to us through John, had no problem jumping in both feet,
05:15both hands face first into Mortimer. I told him that Mortimer was a character of no redeeming
05:20features, a drunk and a particularly unpleasant person. And I immediately thought of him and he
05:25just laughed and said, tell me when and where, and I'll be there. He's a rafe and he's an
05:30alcoholic, someone who doesn't quite have control of his own instincts or his own desires.
05:37His ability to shed any sense of self and ego and play someone quite frankly,
05:44who has very few redeeming features. It was really impressive to see.
05:48Sir, ship in sight. Bearer bay, 20 degrees, port bow. I don't see. Yes, I have it.
05:57Captain, we have contact. A ship just visible on the horizon. Thank you,
06:01Lieutenant. There's a bridge, prepare to dive. We close out this episode with Prien's sub,
06:10the U-47 having hunted down the, the San Dimitrio and unwittingly the crew of the San Dimitrio now
06:18being under the peril of having a German U-boat closing in to try and destroy them.
07:18you
