00:00I will be as brief as possible, but many of you know that I am, yes, that's my name, Jasmine
00:13Crockett.
00:14I proudly represent Texas 30th Congressional District.
00:17Many of you know that I am an attorney, but I've never been a prosecutor.
00:23But between now and November 5th, let me reintroduce myself.
00:28I will be assistant prosecutor to Vice President Kamala Harris.
00:35And when I sit and I listen as Congressman Meeks opened up, he talked about history.
00:42And I want to start to prosecute the case because we know that anytime Donald Trump
00:48has to come in front of a prosecution and there's a jury that has a decision to make,
00:55we know which way those juries tend to go.
00:58So American people, you are my jury and we will be prosecuting this case between now
01:05and November 5th.
01:06So let me go ahead and break this down a little bit for you and take you through history.
01:10I know some don't want you to know history.
01:13They want you to forget it, but I'm going to give you a little bit of recent history.
01:17When we start to talk about why this house will end up coming back and belonging to the
01:23Democrats, let's take you through what it's been like for me from my eyes as a freshman
01:28Congresswoman.
01:29You see, on day one, I didn't get to swear in because they couldn't figure out who their
01:34leader needed to be.
01:36Now some people may have forgot that, but that's kind of historic.
01:38It had never happened.
01:39In fact, I remember having conversations with Congressman Clyburn and I said, the last time
01:45he said, he's like, yo, this ain't never happens.
01:47Like I don't know what to tell you.
01:50That was the beginning of the dysfunction known as the 118th.
01:55After they couldn't get a speaker, they then said, you know what?
01:59We are going to hold this debt ceiling hostage.
02:03We are going to make sure that our American credit is downgraded.
02:07And it's not that we ran up the credit card.
02:10They forget that they homeboy charged it up with $8 trillion in one term, something that
02:16has never been done before.
02:20And then they decided, you know what, because y'all decided to finally move forward and
02:26try to save the United States and our credit from crashing, we're going to go ahead and
02:32fire the guy that it took us forever to decide that we wanted to hire.
02:36And then we had to go through rounds and rounds and rounds of them not knowing who they wanted
02:40their next leader to be.
02:42But finally we got to the point that we started governing, or we thought we were going to
02:46get to governing.
02:47But we were about six months late when it came time to pushing forward with a budget.
02:53So as we go out and we talk to American people and they tell us, you know, we're concerned
02:57about inflation, we're concerned about the cost of housing, we're concerned about the
03:00cost of food, they're telling us their concerns, but I don't know that anybody has made it
03:07clear to the media that my Republican colleagues are doing things like pushing an agenda around
03:13gas stoves.
03:15Now I've knocked a few doors in my day and nobody asked me about a gas stove.
03:21I tell you all this to say is that I need the American people to remember what it was
03:27that they did when they had the power in their hands.
03:31And all they did was cause chaos and confusion.
03:35They have been known as a circus.
03:38That is what the American people need to remember because that is only a microcosm of exactly
03:43what we will get.
03:44This is about the blue team and the blue team is working for the United States of America.
03:51That is why it's not only important that our quarterback be Kamala Harris, but that we
03:56have a democratic house, that we have a democratic Senate, because when we talk about the work
04:01that this president has been able to do for the American people, he wasn't able to do
04:06it by himself.
04:08It is important that we recognize and we dig deep and say we deserve better.
04:13It's not about an individual.
04:15It's about you having an opportunity to choose the blue team or the orange team.
04:20Do y'all know what the orange team means?
04:23Nevertheless, it is important that we understand as it's already been laid out, it's time to
04:30get to work.
04:31We can get there.
04:33But if we go ahead and seed our power, we will not make it.
04:38But the power belongs to the people and I'm telling you right now that so long as we do
04:43our part, we will win and we will save democracy.
04:47We have seen it from the moment that she got into this race.
04:51You have seen nothing but history being made finally for the right reasons instead of the
04:55wrong reasons.
04:56You see historic amounts of money being raised.
04:59You see historic amounts of women coming together online and black men coming together
05:04online and raising money.
05:06That is because we understand the assignment.
05:09And right now we need the American people to understand the assignment.
05:13This is about saving all of us collectively, not about serving an orange Jesus.
