00:00How long would you say that you've had thoughts that President Biden might not be the best
00:07person to leave your ticket in November?
00:09What was the question?
00:10How long have I?
00:11How long have you had thoughts that he might not be best suited to leave in November at
00:14the top of your ticket?
00:15Look, I think as House Democratic leaders, our job, first and foremost, was to listen
00:21to our members.
00:22You saw and you folks reported on those members who put out statements, you know, indicating
00:28their thoughts.
00:29Our job was to have a number of conversations with those individuals who express their opinions
00:35publicly and those who express their opinions privately, and to convey that to the leader
00:41and to members of the administration's team.
00:46The focus and objective of every single member that we talked to, though, was the same.
00:52We have to stop Donald Trump.
00:53We have to stop this Trump Project 2025.
00:57We need to ensure that they don't carry forward a national abortion ban, that they don't end
01:03contraception care, that they don't repeal the Affordable Care Act.
01:08Those are the things that kept Democrats together, but we did our jobs as Democratic leaders
01:15to convey the thoughts, the feelings of our colleagues to the leadership team, as well
01:23as to the White House.
