00:00We see many people doing this and it looks impressive. With practice, improvements in
00:06muscle memory of the combination patterns, your timing and your speed will naturally
00:11develop. But here in my opinion lays a huge problem, again it's my opinion to which
00:18some may not agree, but those who've experienced it will. Whether the punching is being implemented
00:26with bare hands or wearing of gloves, some people's wrists are being damaged by some
00:33of those who are holding and controlling the focus pads. Some trainers, teachers, coaches
00:40holding and controlling focus pads for those they are teaching, training, are causing them
00:46to hurt their wrists, they are taking them down the road of potentially experiencing
00:51wrist injury. Some whilst holding the pads are applying way too much force, pressure
00:57and resistance for he or she that are throwing out their punches. Some holding the pads slap
01:03the crap out of the person's fists with their forward motion, with their downward motion,
01:10slapping heavily into the fists, cutting the punches short. That in my opinion doesn't
01:16benefit anyone. Allow the person's punches to reach the intended destination. And yes,
01:24it's not only about the holding of the pads, although correct pad holding and controlling
01:30is important, it's also important for the throwing out of punches to be executed right,
01:37in order to stay away from wrist injury.
01:41When using focus pads for the means of punching, they are for the intent of working on accuracy
01:46and accuracy, rhythm and reaction, speed and timing, as well as for the improvements of
01:55hand-eye coordination.
