00:00The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is even more concerned
00:05about the needs of Filipinos.
00:08That's what Noel Talacay wrote live. Noel?
00:15That's why yesterday, the third session of the post-sona discussion was held
00:22where the agencies of the government, DSWD, DOH, Housing Department, and DOST,
00:31explained some of the accomplishments of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
00:37in his State of the Nation Address yesterday.
00:43One of the things that President Ferdinand R. Marcos mentioned in his third State of the Nation Address or SONA
00:49is the improvement of the quality of hospitals and specialty centers.
00:55Also, President R. Marcos mentioned that there are 20 new Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services or BUCAS centers
01:03that will provide medical primary care to Filipinos.
01:07According to Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, they have reached their target of 28 BUCAS centers.
01:13Tomorrow, I'll be going to Isabela to open the 28th.
01:20So we've actually reached our target. It looks like I've underachieved. I've overachieved.
01:25So we'll still have about 70 more that are in the pipeline.
01:30It became a big hit to the community. We've served over 30,000 patients
01:35since we started with the first BUCAS center in March.
01:39President R. Marcos also said that he wants to end poverty in the nation.
01:46So through Pantawid Pamilang Pilipino, the government will update the budget
01:54to address the needs of the poor Filipinos, from education, food, health, to livelihood.
02:02According to Secretary Rex Gatchalian, the President's primary order is to end starvation and malnutrition in the country.
02:10One of the flagship programs of President R. Marcos Jr. is the No Starvation Food Stamp Program.
02:19You have to remember that the Sustainable Development Goal includes ending hunger.
02:23And in this day and age, while we're building an inclusive society where there's economic growth,
02:29we have to make sure we're investing in our people.
02:31And part of that investment is to once and for all end hunger in the country.
03:01We have to work hard to construct.
03:03To lower the price of housing, we asked the government for interest subsidies.
03:09In fact, we always talk about ending the backlog of housing.
03:15I don't want private funds.
03:21Another part of President R. Marcos Jr.'s achievements is the agency of the Department of Science and Technology, or DST.
03:29According to the President, the agency of the Department of Science and Technology, or DST,
03:33has become the body of the agency of the Department of Science and Technology
03:37so that it can produce healthy food and drink that will be included in the agency for its feeding program.
03:45First thing that the Department of Science and Technology is doing is conduct the National Nutrition Survey,
03:53which will be the basis of interventions.
03:55And the interventions are based on research and development.
03:59This is led by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology,
04:05which would produce foods and drinks that would be nutritious, including the iron-fortified rice,
04:13the enhanced nutriban with various flavors like squash, carrot, sweet potato.
04:19We also have rice mongo instant blend, pancit canton with squash, and many other ready-to-eat foods.
04:49This is led by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology,
04:53DST, and the Department of Health.
04:55Thank you Noel Talakay.
