00:00So, with this film, when will you know you're ready to do the next MCU superhero movie?
00:07I know you've been courted before.
00:09I've read all those rumors and it is nice.
00:12It is, I'll say this, it's been an incredibly gratifying experience making this movie.
00:16I know how happy I am with the process and the results.
00:20I know how happy Marvel is with the process and the results, so I won't be surprised if
00:25there's more Marvel in my future.
00:27As to when, it would have to be the right idea, the right story, in the right moment,
00:32and probably after I get about 48 hours of rest.
00:35You have a lot of travel to catch up on, right?
00:37You've been traveling.
00:39We've been on this press tour, which is basically a boys' trip paid by Disney.
00:44Did you get any pushback with the R rating at first?
00:47No, man.
00:48You know, we kept waiting for pushback.
00:49We would turn in drafts of the script, we would turn in cuts of the movie, and we waited
00:54for what we thought was the inevitable Disney or Marvel request to tone it down.
00:58Those requests never came.
01:00We had absolute creative freedom.
01:04Talk about Rhett and Paul, too.
01:05Ryan said he literally would take money out of his own paycheck to have them on set.
01:09I mean, what was it like having almost that crew of friends working all together, including
01:14yourself?
01:15Yeah, the writing of this movie was really interesting because you have basically the
01:21franchise stewards in Ryan, Rhett, and Paul who wrote the first two.
01:26And now you have me coming in and Zeb Wells coming in, and the five of us really respected
01:31the diversity of viewpoints.
01:33Some of us were new to it, some of us were coming to it as vets, and some, like me, were
01:38coming to it as fans.
01:40And we would literally jam on story ideas and rewrite each other's pages, and eventually
01:45Ryan and I literally spent months in an apartment just passing a laptop back and forth, and
01:51the writing of this movie is one of Ryan's and my favorite part of this process.
01:55Did it become a joke amongst the three of you and the entire crew about Blake and Taylor
02:00being in the film?
02:02I wouldn't say it became a joke, but I'll say that the cultural noise on this one has
02:05been inordinately loud, and I'm just happy the movie can finally come out and I can stop
02:11dodging questions.
02:13Would you see yourself writing something for Taylor?
02:16That is one talented individual.
02:19Well said.
