00:00Can petroleum products come under GST?
00:05Key factor.
00:07How do you see it, Uday sir?
00:10See, there is a lot of hypocrisy, let me tell you upfront in this case.
00:15This party was in power in many states earlier also.
00:21Look at the last 5-6 years.
00:24But there hasn't been any sincere attempt to get petrol and diesel under GST.
00:33I would say, that's my observation.
00:36Yes, there was some indication a couple of months back,
00:39where they want all the states to come on the same table.
00:42But again, the states are deprived of octa and so many things.
00:46So, nobody wants to give up that power.
00:50Giving up is not that easy.
00:52So, whether it is central government, state government,
00:54a lot of thinking has to be done.
00:56And maybe they can look at if the states can be additionally compensated
01:01and with that kind of thing, they can really make an attempt to get GST.
01:06And that will be a big, big reform, I would say, if the fuel comes under GST.
01:13But again, when the GST was to be introduced,
01:17there were lots of agitations from the opposite side.
01:21Now, when half of the states across the country are ruled by BJP,
01:28why can't they convince their state leadership or their state governments?
01:34Because it will be a huge relief.
01:37Food inflation is 9.4%.
01:41Urban inflation is about 9.5%.
01:45I think bringing petroleum product under GST would give a huge relief
01:51to the commoners of this country.
01:55Fully agree.
01:57See, one factor that always gets neglected is that of urban poor.
02:01We always talk about rural poor.
02:03It is so difficult for urban poor.
02:05Maybe lives in the range of 50,000 to 20,000 rupees salary per month.
02:09It's so difficult.
02:11So, that neglection, they should focus on that.
02:15And maybe GST rationalization could be, in terms of fuel,
02:18will be one of the steps in that direction.
02:21And again, another thing, we have, I mean, you know,
02:26we have discussed a lot of shining things about this government,
02:29optimistic things about the upcoming budget.
02:32But now, I actually would like to look at the challenges that this government
02:38is looking at dealing with this budget.
02:41One of the thing is like health, health sector.
02:44Pankaj, you were also with us.
02:46Yes, yes.
02:47Pankaj, you were also with us.
02:49And these fresh visuals are coming,
02:51with Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
02:53I think, with Bahi Khate,
02:55she is entering the parliament.
02:57And, you know, the show is about to begin.
03:00Maybe in another couple of hours.
03:02I think these are the visuals from outside the finance ministry,
03:05where she is flanked by her team.
03:08There we are.
03:09There is finance ministry.
03:10Yeah, South Block.
03:11South Block.
03:12And from here on, she heads to the parliament of the President House first.
03:15She presents the budget to her.
03:17And with her assent, she heads to the…
03:19The Lok Sabha.
03:21The Lok Sabha.
03:22The parliament, basically.
03:23Yes.
03:24So…
03:25Yeah.
03:26So, Pankaj, you were also the part of one of the discussions.
03:30We were having one of the debates about the new, you know, viral disease broke out in Gujarat, Chandipura.
03:35Right.
03:36And our Gujarat correspondent told that there was no testing facility available for about 15 days.
03:42All the samples were collected and…
03:44Sent to Pune.
03:45Sent to Pune.
03:46Then the testing report used to come from there.
03:48And we have lost so many lives of the younger kids.
03:51Same thing had happened with COVID.
03:53COVID also.
03:54But I would agree that reports card government health sector may not be that old.
04:00But when it comes to ramping up the health infrastructure, I think we are still, you know, many decades behind.
04:09Don't miss out.
