00:00BRAZILIAN OLYMPIC GAMES
00:15The experience of doing an Olympic ceremony
00:17is one of the craziest things that exists, I think.
00:20It's a mixture of what we're used to doing
00:23with something like lions and gladiators.
00:27A lot of knowledge linked to the show together.
00:31The show actually has three pillars, as we call them.
00:35One is the garden, which is the Amazon,
00:38taking care of the environment.
00:40The other is the Brazilians themselves,
00:42a people that admits the other.
00:44And the third is joy.
00:49Everything we've lived in life with art, we use it here.
00:52My baggage with cinema, with theater,
00:56with whatever comes here,
00:59it stays in my memory.
01:01But we're doing something new that no one has ever done.
01:17At the beginning of life, we arrive in the forest.
01:20There, in the forest, indigenous peoples emerge.
01:23Then we enter the geolitization,
01:25which is actually the occupation of Brazilian territory
01:28by the colonizers.
01:30This great city became the Brazilian metropolis.
01:33And with that, we present this Brazil
01:36that was presented to the world in the 1950s, 1960s.
01:51The whole process of making the Olympics,
01:54of creating, of talking,
01:56of being close to the people dancing,
01:58creating the choreographies,
02:00was exactly what I wanted people to experience
02:03while watching the show.
02:05A rediscovery of how cool it is to be born,
02:08to be raised and to be part of this community.
02:14Then comes Jorge, with País Tropical,
02:16and more than 1,000 volunteers will enter the stage.
02:19At this moment, we have 1,400 people
02:22between the stage and our city of Caixas.
02:39Each athlete, in each country,
02:41enters with the bud of a native Brazilian tree,
02:44and all the athletes will get a seed,
02:46a tubete, plant it and put it in those mirrors.
02:50And it's kind of a message to encourage
02:53the movement of replanting of forests around the world.
03:08The idea of the garden, of preserving the world,
03:11for me specifically,
03:13because I'm very connected to it,
03:15is the theme.
03:16And it's the message we're giving to the world.
