Tyler Reddick: ‘Really cool’ to win Indianapolis pole award

Tyler Reddick, in the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota, will lead the NASCAR Cup Series field to the green flag for the Brickyard 400 on Sunday.

00:08I said it looked like you were celebrating the car.

00:10I didn't think I did good in turn one.

00:12Walk us through that pole winning lap.

00:14Just qualifying today, it seemed like it was pretty sketchy for all the cup series drivers.

00:19I think some of it is the placement of the all-star finish line where everyone is pushing

00:24so hard through turn four.

00:25Just try to be mindful of that all day long.

00:28Especially in round one.

00:29We had a big moment over there.

00:30We didn't lose momentum, which is super key at a lap here.

00:34Round two, I knew what the target lap time was.

00:39I did not feel great about my turn one, but the rest of the lap, this beast unleashed

00:44Toyota Camry was really, really stout.

00:46It's just really cool.

00:47I mean, I've been very fortunate to come here and have a lot of speed on the road course.

00:53It's great to be back on the oval here and have that speed again.

00:57So I'm excited for tomorrow.

01:16Well, I've always been on the other end of this.

01:19What made that scene even worse was it was at road courses.

01:23It's nice to be on the other side of that for once.

01:26Obviously him and Chris Capehart, that whole 11 group, is really, really strong every single

01:29weekend.

01:30So it's a big deal for us when we can go toe-to-toe with them.
