A TOWERING teenager from Texas is about to strut her way into the record books as the proud owner of the world’s longest legs. Aged only 16, Maci Currin, from Austin, Texas, has legs measuring an incredible 53 inches - smashing the previous record of 52.2 inches held by Ekaterina Lisina, of Russia. The 6ft 9in aspiring model was only 19 inches when born, but a series of growth spurts meant she rocketed to 5ft 7in by the time she was nine years old. Maci also has an inseam of 43 inches and has to stoop to avoid banging her head when walking through doors, but says she is proud of her lengthy limbs despite the added attention they bring.

01:41When, like, you're in a crowd, and you're with friends, and you can't find them,

02:05I'm 6'5".
02:07Both my parents are 5'6"-5'8".
02:11So there's a wild gene in my side of the family, I guess, somewhere.
02:16I got the height gene, and Macy got it as well.
02:20There's been, like, four or five years that she's grown, like, five inches in a year.
02:28We started way down here probably shortly after we moved in.
02:33So we moved in here June of 2012.
02:36She's been right up at that 6'8"-6'9 level for at least a couple years now.

03:01So one thing she does not like to do as a girl, which I find totally crazy, she hates to shop.
03:06As you will see when we are out and about, that shopping for her is harder than the average girl.
03:15Shopping for clothes? I don't wear certain things, like jeans, because I can never find any that fit me.
03:36The hardest part about finding clothes for girls that have longer legs, or especially have the longest legs,
03:44are going to be that our sizes run small, medium, large.
03:48So it would be really difficult to have something specifically tailored for her.
03:59I mean, they're cute!
