00:00It's another defeat for the far right in France.
00:05The National Rally, despite having the most seats of any party, has failed to get any
00:09of its candidates elected to the bureau which runs parliament.
00:13They blamed a deal between conservative leader Laurent Wauquiez and the centrists of President
00:18Emmanuel Macron and acting Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
00:22The friends of Mr Wauquiez and Mr Attal came to a completely immoral and illegal agreement.
00:30On Thursday, this deal led to the surprise re-election of Yael Bourbon-Pivet from Macron's
00:35party as head of the parliament.
00:38Of the remaining 21 administrative posts, the left-wing bloc has bagged 12, the far
00:43right none.
00:45Since the election shattered the make-up of parliament two weeks ago, there's been no
00:48end to the bickering.
00:50One vote even had to be redone after more ballots were found in the box than the number
00:54of MPs that voted.
00:56In all anger and fury, I say shame on those who tried to defraud our parliament.
01:08It's a sign of tensions that will persist with no elections permitted for another year
01:12at least.
01:13The conservatives have registered as an opposition party and have sworn not to ally with Macron's
01:18centrists, but they could yet prove a building block if MPs want to break the deadlock and
01:24form a coalition government.
