A stormy weekend in the southern Plains is good news for those looking for a break from the heat.

00:00To Texas now, where summertime storms
00:02have also been popping up like places.
00:05San Antonio,
00:05where you're seeing some heavy rain
00:08here right now across parts of the
00:10South Central Southern Texas even too.
00:13That's where we've been tracking again.
00:15Some of those thunderstorms even
00:17today in and around the San Antonio
00:19region. But as we head into tomorrow,
00:22well, the story does stay the same.
00:24There are going to be more pop up in nature,
00:28but they could produce some heavy rain.
00:30And it's not the only area that we're
00:33keeping a close eye out on for the
00:35start of the weekend. Also,
00:37back further West and North,
00:38we're tracking some thunderstorms
00:39that could turn a little bit nasty
00:41at times, especially as we head
00:43into the afternoon.
00:44You will see that that line
00:46does start to develop.
00:47We are tracking some gusty winds,
00:49but also some poppy activity here along
00:51the Gulf from Houston to New Orleans.
00:53But where we have more of the
00:55steadier storms, or at least.
00:57The more scarier looking storms,
00:59and it's going to be across the panhandle,
01:02Amarillo region up and down I-40
01:03with flash flooding going to
01:05be our biggest concern, but also.
01:09You can you cannot forget about those
01:11winds gusting anywhere between 60 to 70
01:14miles per hour. Accurate local storm
01:15max upwards to 85 miles per hour.
01:17Now for our Sunday we are tracking a
01:20little bit more in the way of rain.
01:22And in terms of coverage where we could
01:25Though it is still going to be humid
01:27and warm across other in Texas.
01:29This weekend high is going to be
01:31dropping in areas like Dallas from
01:33the 90s Saturday to the 80s by Sunday.
01:35Houston going to be staying in
01:37the upper 80s, low 90s.
