00:00This primary season has really shown the GOP as divided into two parties, more of
00:06a Nikki Haley establishment Republican and then more of a Trump MAGA
00:11Republican. You're saying that JD Vance fits nicely into that Trump MAGA
00:16Republican mold. So given his age and given his policies, do voters view him as
00:23the heir apparent to Donald Trump? I think that that's yet to be seen, but
00:30certainly the selection of JD Vance plays to Trump's base. And JD Vance does
00:35very well with rural voters and especially with suburban voters. And
00:42obviously his background, he comes from a downscale white demographic and a
00:50background that he's wrote in his book. His childhood was quite challenging. So
00:56it's a tip of the hat for that core electorate, you know, lower educated white
01:03voters, downscale white voters in suburban areas and in rural areas that
01:08Trump, that may compose the core of Trump's voter base. And so in that regard
01:15he's the closest thing to that voter that exists outside of Trump in the
01:20Republican Party and it's a tip of the hat to those voters. I will also add one
01:25other thing. 80% of Republicans view JD Vance as an exciting pick, in part
01:32because he is young and in part because of his background. Also 91% of
01:37Republicans and 58% of independents actually view him as being honest. And
01:42the honesty card, it's an important card especially for voters who like
01:49anti-establishment figures and essentially view Washington as being in
01:55a gridlock and not able to produce actual solutions for them that matter to
02:01them in their day-to-day life. And that was a very interesting finding that came
02:05out in our poll. 56% of independents viewing JD Vance as honest and 91% of
02:11Republicans saying the same.
