00:00In my wildest imagination, could I have believed that I'd be standing here tonight?
00:06I grew up in Middletown, Ohio, a small town where people spoke their minds, built with their hands,
00:16and loved their God, their family, their community, and their country with their whole hearts.
00:22But it was also a place that had been cast aside and forgotten by America's ruling class in Washington.
00:28When I was in the fourth grade, a career politician by the name of Joe Biden supported NAFTA,
00:34a bad trade deal that sent countless good jobs to Mexico.
00:42When I was a sophomore in high school, that same career politician named Joe Biden gave China
00:48a sweetheart trade deal that destroyed even more good American middle-class manufacturing jobs.
00:57When I was a senior in high school, that same Joe Biden supported the disastrous invasion of Iraq.
01:03And at each step of the way, in small towns like mine in Ohio or next door in Pennsylvania or Michigan,
01:10in states all across our country, jobs were sent overseas and our children were sent to war.
01:18Joe must go! Joe must go! Joe must go!
01:40I agree.
01:44And somehow, a real estate developer from New York City by the name of Donald J. Trump
01:51was right on all of these issues while Biden was wrong.
01:59President Trump knew even then that we needed leaders who would put America first.
02:12Now, thanks to these policies that Biden and other out-of-touch politicians in Washington gave us,
02:18our country was flooded with cheap Chinese goods, with cheap foreign labor,
02:24and in the decades to come, deadly Chinese fentanyl.
02:28Joe Biden screwed up, and my community paid the price.
02:33Now, I was lucky. Despite the closing factories and the growing addiction in towns like mine,
02:40in my life, I had a guardian angel by my side.
02:43She was an old woman who could barely walk, but she was tough as nails.
02:48I called her Mamaw, the name we hillbillies gave to our grandmothers.
02:59Mamaw raised me as my mother struggled with addiction.
03:06Mamaw was in so many ways a woman of contradiction.
03:09She loved the Lord, ladies and gentlemen.
03:11She was a woman of very deep Christian faith.
03:20But she also loved the F word.
03:25I'm not kidding. She could make a sailor blush.
03:30Now, she once told me, when she found out that I was spending too much time with a local kid
03:35who was known for dealing drugs, that if I ever hung out with that kid again,
03:40she would run him over with her car.
03:47That's true.
03:48And she said, J.D., no one will ever find out about it.
04:10Now, thanks to that Mamaw, things worked out for me.
04:13After 9-11, I did what thousands of other young men my age did
04:17in that time of soaring patriotism and love of country.
04:20I enlisted in the United States Marines.
04:32Sympathize to my fellow Marines.
04:36I left the Marines after four years and went to the Ohio State University.
04:49I'm sorry, Michigan. I had to get that in there.
05:01Come on, come on. We've had enough political violence.
05:08Now, after Ohio State, I went to Yale Law School, where I met my beautiful wife.
05:12And then I started businesses to create jobs in the kind of places that I grew up in.
05:17Now, my work taught me that there is still so much talent and grit in the American heartland.
05:23There really is.
05:24But for these places to thrive, my friends,
05:27we need a leader who fights for the people who built this country.
05:40We need a leader who's not in the pocket of big business,
05:43but answers to the working man, union and non-union alike.
05:54A leader who won't sell out to multinational corporations,
05:57but will stand up for American companies and American industry.
06:07A leader who rejects Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's Green News scam
06:12and fights to bring back our great American factories.
06:15We need President Donald J. Trump.
