00:01:04You know, I just want to take another look
00:01:06at these throw pillows.
00:01:07Wait, why?
00:01:08They're perfect.
00:01:09Oh, don't you think your eye would be more drawn
00:01:12around the room if the striped pillow
00:01:14was placed to the left?
00:01:15No, I think it's perfect and that we should go.
00:01:18Mmm.
00:01:19No, no, stop, stop, stop, stop.
00:01:21If we don't leave for Denver right now,
00:01:23we're gonna hit some serious traffic.
00:01:25Can you believe that I'm gonna be on TV?
00:01:27Can you believe that I'm gonna be on Hello Today

00:01:50I'm Sullivan Davenport, and this is Hello Today.
00:01:53I am so excited to welcome today's guest,
00:01:56local interior designer, Bethany Kane.
00:01:58Welcome, Bethany.
00:01:59Thank you so much for having me.
00:02:01Hi, everybody.
00:02:02Bethany has developed a system
00:02:05for home design and organization
00:02:07called MAP, the Map System.
00:02:10Can you tell us a little more about it?
00:02:12Sure.
00:02:13The Map System uses creative visualization
00:02:16to help people bring meaning, abundance,
00:02:18and peace into their homes.
00:02:20♪♪♪♪♪
00:02:23Pretty simple.
00:02:24Put the name of your kid
00:02:25on the outside of the drawer,
00:02:26and you would be surprised.
00:02:27It's like magic.
00:02:28All of a sudden...
00:02:29Dad, this is a good idea.
00:02:31What's a good idea?
00:02:32This candy thing with the cute jars.
00:02:34You know, your grandma used to try and hide
00:02:36the candy from me by putting it
00:02:37in a cracker box in the pantry?
00:02:39She thought she was so sneaky.
00:02:41You've been promising we can finally get
00:02:43some stuff to decorate the kitchen.
00:02:45What are you talking about?
00:02:46What's wrong with the kitchen?
00:02:47It's functional.
00:02:48Don't forget, I have skating practice
00:02:49after school today.
00:02:50How could I forget?
00:02:51I watched your skating dress lesson.
00:02:53Night.
00:02:57Hey, Zoey?
00:02:58How would you feel about being a flamingo
00:03:01instead of a swan for your exhibition?
00:03:03Dad, not again.
00:03:04Ah-ha.
00:03:05There is a culprit.
00:03:06Sorry.
00:03:07Can you flip your pancake?
00:03:09Yeah, yeah.
00:03:10Hold on a sec.
00:03:13Oof.
00:03:16All right.
00:03:18Perfect.
00:03:19Perfect.
00:03:23Hey, Dad?
00:03:24Can you tell me the bowl story again?
00:03:26Oh, the bowl story.
00:03:28Ah.
00:03:29Well, your mom used to make pancakes
00:03:31in this bowl every Sunday.
00:03:33With chocolate chips.
00:03:34So many chocolate chips.
00:03:36One day I was washing the bowl,
00:03:37and it slipped out of my hands, of course,
00:03:39because I'm a klutz,
00:03:40and it hit the edge of the sink,
00:03:41and it chipped.
00:03:42I was going to throw the bowl away,
00:03:43and your mom said,
00:03:44what are you doing?
00:03:45It's just a chip.
00:03:46Now the bowl has a story,
00:03:48and it makes the pancakes taste even better.
00:03:50They do taste pretty awesome.
00:03:52Good, because I'm hungry.
00:03:55This is the book,
00:03:56and I believe you had one more announcement?
00:03:59Yes, I do.
00:04:00In conjunction with my book,
00:04:01I'm very happy to announce

00:05:25This is a national magazine.
00:05:27I know, this could be a game changer.
00:05:30There's just one little hitch.
00:05:32Oh, now what?
00:05:33In order to get into the issue,
00:05:35we have to get it done in three weeks.
00:05:38Three weeks?
00:05:39Mm-hmm, yeah.
00:05:40Wait a minute, that would mean
00:05:41we'd have to pick the winner
00:05:42in, like, two days.
00:05:44Mm-hmm.
00:05:45And then we've got prep,
00:05:46we've got demo,
00:05:47I mean, that leaves absolutely
00:05:48no time for tweaking.
00:05:49Or eating, or breathing,
00:05:50or sleeping,
00:05:51but we can get it done.

00:06:28It's my first year
00:06:29as activities director,
00:06:30you know, I just,
00:06:31just want to make sure

00:06:33Hey.
00:06:34I noticed we have
00:06:3535 guests reserved
00:06:36for the snowflake tea,
00:06:37but we only have seating
00:06:38for 30.
00:06:39All right, can we squeeze
00:06:40Not unless you want to
00:06:41open up a window
00:06:42and attach an igloo
00:06:43to the side of the restaurant.
00:06:44Could be cute.
00:06:46Okay, um,

00:06:50I forgot to tell you,
00:06:51we have to cut
00:06:52the sleigh rides.
00:06:53The sleigh lost a runner
00:06:54and it's going to take
00:06:55a month to get a replacement.
00:06:56What?
00:06:57Okay, I just,
00:06:58I just need the final
00:06:59headcount from my staff.
00:07:00Yes, um,
00:07:01can we get another sleigh?
00:07:02Everything's booked.

00:07:18and then I'm playing
00:07:19both parents to Zoe.
00:07:20Just feel like there
00:07:21needs to be two of me.
00:07:22Hey, Grant,

00:07:59about it yesterday.
00:08:02Okay, don't worry,
00:08:03I'm sure we'll figure
00:08:04everything out.
00:08:09So don't be fooled
00:08:10into thinking
00:08:11you have to pick
00:08:12between practicality
00:08:13and style
00:08:14because you don't.
00:08:16Your home can
00:08:17and should be

00:12:18you want some cocoa?
00:12:20You got any whipped cream?
00:12:22Uh, no,
00:12:23but I can make you
00:12:24some fresh.
00:12:25Oh, I just spray
00:12:26the canned stuff
00:12:27right in my mouth.
00:12:28How are we related?
00:12:29Well, what can I say?
00:12:30You got all the designer genes
00:12:32and I got all the awesome.
00:12:35Thanks.
00:12:36Okay, so
00:12:38what do you want
00:12:39to talk to me about?
00:12:41Just wanted to check in
00:12:42on you with the whole
00:12:43book release thing.
00:12:44Oh, yeah.
00:12:45I didn't want you
00:12:46obsessing over sales stats
00:12:47or order clicks
00:12:48or what color napkins
00:12:49you're going to use
00:12:50at your next dinner party.
00:12:52Mulberry
00:12:53with an antique
00:12:54brass napkin ring.
00:12:55Cute.
00:12:57And then there's
00:12:58this makeover.
00:12:59I just feel like
00:13:00it's so rushed, you know?
00:13:01And if it doesn't
00:13:02turn out well,
00:13:03then the magazine
00:13:04doesn't have to use it.
00:13:05There's that.
00:13:06You know it'll turn out
00:13:07perfectly.
00:13:08It always does.
00:13:09I just don't do my best work
00:13:10under this kind of pressure.
00:13:11And when I'm under
00:13:12this kind of pressure,
00:13:13I miss final touches
00:13:14and final touches
00:13:15are very important.
00:13:16Stop.
00:13:17You got this.
00:13:18And even if there are
00:13:19hiccups along the way,
00:13:20you'll just turn them
00:13:21into designer wall
00:13:22sconces or something.
00:13:25I prefer table lamps
00:13:26to sconces, bud.
00:13:27You're hopeless.
00:13:28I love you.
00:13:30But you're hopeless.
00:13:38Excuse me, mademoiselle.
00:13:39You have a reservation?
00:13:40I'm just waiting for Dad
00:13:41to take me to skating practice.
00:13:43Zoe was wondering
00:13:44if she could just
00:13:45hang out with you for a bit.
00:13:46Yeah, pull up a seat.
00:13:47Thanks, Lisa.
00:13:51Look, did she catch on?
00:13:52No way.
00:13:53I'm super sneaky.
00:13:54What about your dad?
00:13:55He doesn't have a clue.
00:13:56Okay, well, we got
00:13:57about ten minutes
00:13:58if we're lucky.
00:13:59Okay.
00:14:00I made a rough draft.
00:14:04This is pretty good.
00:14:07You read.
00:14:08I'll type.
00:14:09My dad, Grant,
00:14:10could really use some help.
00:14:11My mom passed away
00:14:12a few years ago.
00:14:13We had just moved
00:14:14into our new house,
00:14:15so we never got
00:14:16to decorate anything.
00:14:17Now my dad's kind of stuck.
00:14:18I think you're right
00:14:19that when your house
00:14:20looks pretty,
00:14:21it makes you feel good.
00:14:22My dad deserves
00:14:23to feel good.
00:14:24He just got a promotion
00:14:25and he's so busy now
00:14:26that he never gets
00:14:27to have any fun.
00:14:28Sometimes he messes
00:14:29things up because
00:14:30he has to be my dad
00:14:31and my mom,
00:14:32but I think he's doing
00:14:33a pretty good job.
00:14:34Anyways, please pick
00:14:35my dad to win the contest.
00:14:36Thanks.
00:14:37Zoe.
00:14:38Hey, Emerson?
00:14:39Yeah.
00:14:40Come here for a second.
00:14:43What's up?
00:14:44Read this.
00:14:48It's from a girl
00:14:49about her dad.
00:14:50And I guess
00:14:51what really struck me
00:14:52about it is that
00:14:53she didn't write in
00:14:54for herself,
00:14:55she wrote in
00:14:56for somebody else.
00:14:57This is beautiful.
00:14:58Yeah, it really is.
00:14:59I mean,
00:15:00look at what she says
00:15:01about him.
00:15:02I don't know,
00:15:03I just feel like
00:15:04I could really do
00:15:05something great
00:15:06for that family.
00:15:07Look at the house.
00:15:08It's got great bones.
00:15:09Yeah, it does.
00:15:10You could do a lot
00:15:11with this.
00:15:12This is it.
00:15:13It's perfect.
00:15:14Yeah.
00:15:15Okay.
00:15:16All right,
00:15:17well then,
00:15:18just call him tomorrow,
00:15:19let him know,
00:15:20and I think we can
00:15:21get started by Tuesday.
00:15:22Okay.
00:15:23Thank you.
00:15:24We got it.
00:15:26Yeah.
00:15:37That's enough
00:15:38for today, Zoe.
00:15:39But I didn't get it.
00:15:40We have more time
00:15:41before the exhibition.
00:15:42Can I try one more time?
00:15:44I'm sorry, Zoe,
00:15:45my next student's here.
00:15:46It's already five?
00:15:50Come on, we have to go.
00:15:52Clock's ticking, Dad.
00:15:56What's the hurry?
00:16:02Hi, guys.
00:16:04Hey.
00:16:06Oh, yeah.
00:16:08This is gonna be perfect.
00:16:09Yeah.
00:16:10A home makeover contest?
00:16:12I can't believe
00:16:13you did this
00:16:14without telling me.
00:16:15That's what made it
00:16:16a surprise.
00:16:17I don't need a surprise,
00:16:18and I don't need
00:16:19a home makeover.
00:16:20Don't act mad, okay?
00:16:21It might be nice.
00:16:22The house is fine
00:16:23just the way it is.
00:16:26Is it?
00:16:31We are about
00:16:32to meet our winners.
00:16:33Very exciting.
00:16:35Okay.
00:16:43Hi.
00:16:44Hey.
00:16:46Bookstore, right?
00:16:47Wait.
00:16:49You guys know each other?
00:16:50Well, we haven't been
00:16:51formally introduced.
00:16:53My name's Bethany.
00:16:54Nice to meet you.
00:16:55And this is Emerson.
00:16:56Hi.
00:16:58Grant, and this little
00:16:59bookworm here is Zoe,
00:17:00my daughter.
00:17:01I totally love
00:17:02Zelda Sanders.
00:17:03Yeah?
00:17:04Does she ever end up
00:17:05defeating Crow McThunderson?
00:17:06Wait, don't tell me.
00:17:07Well, you couldn't
00:17:08drag it out of me.
00:17:10This is amazing.
00:17:13Well, I guess
00:17:14we were just destined
00:17:15to be friends, huh?
00:17:16Uh, yeah, I guess
00:17:18you guys need to see
00:17:19the inside of the house.
00:17:20Yeah.
00:17:21That would be helpful.
00:17:23Come on in.
00:17:24Okay.
00:17:25Come on, guys.
00:17:27Watch your step.
00:17:28Watch your step.
00:17:29Excuse the mess.
00:17:30I wasn't expecting
00:17:31company.
00:17:32At all.
00:17:34Come with me, Bethany.
00:17:35I'll show you my room.
00:17:36Just so you know,
00:17:37I normally would have
00:17:38pinned all my stuff
00:17:39under the bed first,
00:17:40but I figured
00:17:41you'd want to see
00:17:42how it really looks.
00:17:43Well, you are correct.
00:17:45See you soon.
00:17:51Who exactly is that,
00:17:52and why are they
00:17:53taking so many pictures
00:17:54of my house?
00:17:55Uh, it's for the spread
00:17:56in Beautiful Homes magazine.
00:17:59Sorry I didn't say
00:18:00anything about a magazine.
00:18:01She didn't?
00:18:02No.
00:18:03Oh, well, don't worry.
00:18:04They won't be here
00:18:05the whole time.
00:18:07Okay.
00:18:08Oh, this is gonna look
00:18:09great on the website.
00:18:10Oh.
00:18:11Hey, guys!
00:18:12Hey, guys!
00:18:22All right.
00:18:23Well, I have got
00:18:24some really big ideas already,
00:18:26starting with this entryway.
00:18:28I'm gonna get a hall tree
00:18:29for her skates
00:18:30and school supplies.
00:18:31Keep it real organized
00:18:32over here.
00:18:33Um, and then
00:18:34a piece of artwork
00:18:35over the mantle.
00:18:36Okay.
00:18:37Oh, yeah,
00:18:38and what do you think
00:18:39about putting some wallpaper
00:18:40on that wall
00:18:41so then pattern,
00:18:42bright,
00:18:43warm it up in here?
00:18:44Yes.
00:18:45Okay.
00:18:46A little artwork
00:18:47over the mantle's fine,
00:18:48but we don't need
00:18:49any wallpaper.
00:18:50Ooh.
00:18:51Ooh.
00:18:52Look at this patio.
00:18:53This is nice.
00:18:54This is beautiful.
00:18:55I love this patio.
00:18:56I can do so much
00:18:57with this.
00:18:58Yeah, we don't use
00:18:59that very much.
00:19:00Well, we're gonna
00:19:01change that.
00:19:03It's all part
00:19:04of the transformation.
00:19:05What if I don't want
00:19:06a transformation?
00:19:09Uh...
00:19:10Well, uh...
00:19:12Why did you enter
00:19:13the contest?
00:19:14I didn't enter
00:19:15the contest.
00:19:16Come on, Dad.
00:19:17Bethany said I can get
00:19:18a new bedspread,
00:19:19vanity, and curtains.
00:19:20What are you talking about?
00:19:21I thought you loved
00:19:22that purple comforter.
00:19:23Okay, well,
00:19:24if it's meaningful
00:19:25to you, that's great.
00:19:26It's the M part
00:19:27of my map system.
00:19:28We can just repurpose it,
00:19:29maybe some throw pillows
00:19:31for your bed.
00:19:32How about that?
00:19:33Yeah.
00:19:34Okay.
00:19:35Wait, you just wanna
00:19:36cut it up?
00:19:37And I think that we're
00:19:38definitely gonna have to
00:19:39change the furniture.
00:19:40No, most definitely.
00:19:41And is this
00:19:42what you're using
00:19:43as an office?
00:19:44Yeah, yeah.
00:19:45It works great.
00:19:47Okay, well, I'm gonna make
00:19:48it work even better
00:19:49for you, okay?
00:19:50I'm gonna give you
00:19:51your own dedicated space
00:19:52in the front room,
00:19:53I'm thinking.
00:19:54Yeah.
00:19:55It's gonna be nice
00:19:56and quiet and peaceful.
00:19:57Okay, this...
00:19:58Honestly, this is...
00:19:59This is a lot.
00:20:00I...
00:20:01Look, uh...
00:20:02Simple little things
00:20:03like lighting
00:20:04can just warm up a room.
00:20:05You would be surprised.
00:20:06This is just a lamp.
00:20:07There's not much
00:20:08that's gonna make...
00:20:09Makes a lot of difference.
00:20:12Listen, Grant,
00:20:13I know that this is gonna
00:20:14be really overwhelming.
00:20:15I get it, okay?
00:20:16But I promise you
00:20:17it's all gonna be worth it
00:20:18in the end.
00:20:19You just have to be open
00:20:20to some possibilities,
00:20:21that's all.
00:20:23Oh, um,
00:20:24except for an extra set of keys.
00:20:25We're gonna be in and out.
00:20:26I don't wanna bother you, so...
00:20:27I don't have an extra
00:20:28set of keys.
00:20:30Okay.
00:20:31Well, we'll just have
00:20:32some made tomorrow.
00:20:34You know what?
00:20:35I think I have enough
00:20:36to get started for today.
00:20:37Okay.
00:20:38So I'll just
00:20:39leave you guys
00:20:40to your family time.
00:20:41Uh, wait.
00:20:42We should, um...
00:20:43We should get a picture
00:20:44of the three of you.
00:20:45Together.
00:20:46Oh.
00:20:47Okay.
00:20:48Oh, here.
00:20:49You get in the middle.
00:20:50Okay.
00:20:51All right.
00:20:52Actually, Bethany,
00:20:53can you go in the middle?
00:20:54Are you sure?
00:20:55Mm-hmm.
00:20:56Okay.
00:20:57All right, and let's see
00:20:58a little closer.
00:20:59A little closer, Grant,
00:21:00this way.
00:21:01Closer still?
00:21:02Yep.
00:21:03Ah.
00:21:04Okay, ready?
00:21:05One, two, three.
00:21:06Great.
00:21:11I like Bethany.
00:21:12I'm happy she's helping us.
00:21:13You don't care
00:21:14that she's going through
00:21:15all your stuff?
00:21:16What if she wants
00:21:17to give some of it away?
00:21:18Joel says we have
00:21:19to let things go to grow.
00:21:20Oh, really?
00:21:22Joel's been reading
00:21:23too many self-help books.
00:21:24Don't you think
00:21:25she's pretty?
00:21:26Who, Joel?
00:21:28No, Dad, Bethany.
00:21:29Yeah, I know.
00:21:30Look, it's a little late
00:21:31for 20 questions.
00:21:32You need to go to bed.
00:21:33Wait, we have to say
00:21:34Mom's prayer.
00:21:35Yes, we do.
00:21:37Okay.
00:21:38Ready?
00:21:40God bless this home.
00:21:41God bless this girl.
00:21:42God bless the people
00:21:43of this world.
00:21:45Teach us to love
00:21:46the way you do
00:21:47and trust your love
00:21:48will see you through.
00:21:49Amen.
00:21:50Amen.
00:21:51Okay, now you go to sleep.
00:21:54Good night.
00:21:55And sleep well, okay?
00:21:58See you tomorrow.
00:21:59Okay.
00:22:09Okay.
00:22:21There is so much
00:22:22that you can do
00:22:23with that house.
00:22:24It's really beautiful, Bethany.
00:22:26You see it, don't you?
00:22:28Why don't we just
00:22:29get somebody else?
00:22:31Why would we get
00:22:32someone else?
00:22:33Because this guy
00:22:34doesn't even want
00:22:35a makeover.
00:22:36The Oliver's are kind
00:22:37of a perfect family.
00:22:38But it's such a big job.
00:22:39Yeah, but it'll be
00:22:40a very dramatic
00:22:41transformation.
00:22:42How am I gonna do
00:22:43this in two weeks?
00:22:44With a lot of
00:22:45overnight deliveries
00:22:46and a copious amount
00:22:47of caffeine.
00:22:48And some wine.
00:22:50I'm just used to people
00:22:51being excited
00:22:52to get my help,
00:22:53you know?
00:22:54I mean, people pay me
00:22:55to decorate their house.
00:22:56I can't even give this guy
00:22:57free furniture.
00:22:58Yeah.
00:22:59Grant just can't
00:23:00picture it.
00:23:01Yeah.
00:23:03What'd you say?
00:23:04Grant can't
00:23:05picture it yet?
00:23:06He can't picture it.
00:23:09That's it.
00:23:10What's it?
00:23:11I have not even
00:23:12been following
00:23:13my own map system
00:23:14this whole time.
00:23:16When you get off track,
00:23:18you need to get
00:23:19back on your map.
00:23:22Cheers to that.
00:23:23Cheers to that.
00:23:24After you,
00:23:25watch your step.
00:23:27I'm gonna take you
00:23:28off to the left here.
00:23:29Lisa's gonna be
00:23:30handling all your paperwork.
00:23:32Hold on one sec.
00:23:34This is Grant.
00:23:35Hey, Grant.
00:23:36Uh, it's Bethany Cain.
00:23:38Oh, hi.
00:23:40Uh, listen,
00:23:41I know that we got off
00:23:42to a bit of a rough start
00:23:43last night.
00:23:44Did we?
00:23:45So, I was just wondering
00:23:46if maybe you would
00:23:47want to come shopping
00:23:48with me?
00:23:49Uh, no.
00:23:50No, I don't think
00:23:51that's a good idea.
00:23:52I would want to
00:23:53come shopping with me
00:23:54this afternoon
00:23:55to buy a sofa.
00:23:57Okay, great.
00:23:58Make sure they get out
00:23:59with Alan.
00:24:00He's our best guy.
00:24:01Grant?
00:24:02Yeah.
00:24:03Look, Zoe's got
00:24:04ice skating practice
00:24:05at three at
00:24:06the ice rink.
00:24:07So, why don't you
00:24:08meet me there?
00:24:09It's Arbor Ice Rink.
00:24:11Okay?
00:24:12Okay.
00:24:13Meaning abundance and peace.
00:24:14Hello?
00:24:15Hello?
00:24:19Meaning abundance and peace.
00:24:22Meaning abundance and peace.
00:24:29Full extension.
00:24:30Make sure you pay
00:24:31some attention here.
00:24:32And straighten the back
00:24:33of the chin up.
00:24:34Off you go.
00:24:43Hi.
00:24:44Hi.
00:24:47Well,
00:24:48this is a
00:24:49unique meeting spot.
00:24:51Yeah.
00:24:52I'm not at the office
00:24:53and I'm with Zoe,
00:24:54and if Zoe's
00:24:55not at school,
00:24:56then she's usually
00:24:57here at practice.
00:24:59Look, I...
00:25:01I know that you're not
00:25:02exactly over the moon
00:25:03about all the changes
00:25:04that we're gonna be making,
00:25:05but...
00:25:06you know,
00:25:07think of it this way.
00:25:08You're not doing this
00:25:09just for you.
00:25:10You're doing it for Zoe.
00:25:11I would do anything
00:25:12for Zoe,
00:25:13but this all just feels
00:25:14like a giant commercial.
00:25:16I know that
00:25:17that can seem
00:25:18a little odd,
00:25:19but listen,
00:25:20all I want you
00:25:21to know from me
00:25:22is that I'm
00:25:23just trying to make
00:25:24your house
00:25:25a special place
00:25:26for you and Zoe.
00:25:27That's it.
00:25:28But I need you
00:25:29to be on board
00:25:30if I'm gonna be able
00:25:31to make that happen.
00:25:33Okay.
00:25:34Well, Zoe's got
00:25:35a double practice today,
00:25:36and I told her
00:25:37we were going shopping,
00:25:38so we've got
00:25:39about two hours.
00:25:42Let's go.
00:25:43Okay.
00:25:44Let's get this thing done.
00:25:45Hmm.
00:25:49So what do you think
00:25:50about this?
00:25:52It's...
00:25:54beige.
00:25:55Well, it's actually
00:25:56more greige
00:25:57than ash,
00:25:58but...
00:25:59Okay,
00:26:00so would you prefer it
00:26:01maybe if it were
00:26:02in a darker shape?
00:26:03I just don't understand
00:26:04what's wrong
00:26:05with the one that I have.
00:26:06Well, there's nothing wrong
00:26:07with the couch
00:26:08that you have now,
00:26:09per se.
00:26:10It's just...
00:26:11Hey, how about this?
00:26:12Why don't you just
00:26:14try it?
00:26:18Go ahead.
00:26:26What do you think?
00:26:28Yeah, it's pretty comfy.
00:26:29It's comfy!
00:26:30Yay!
00:26:31Okay, so
00:26:32in my map system,
00:26:33I like to do something
00:26:34called visualizing
00:26:35your environment.
00:26:37Okay?
00:26:38So...
00:26:39close your eyes.
00:26:42Come on, please.
00:26:43Come on, please.
00:26:45Okay.
00:26:47Visualize yourself
00:26:48on this sofa
00:26:49in your house.
00:26:51Okay, why are you laughing?
00:26:52It's just goofy.
00:26:53Can you please try it?
00:26:54Okay.
00:26:55Okay.
00:26:56You're on this sofa
00:26:57in your house.
00:26:59You're sitting with Zoe
00:27:00and she's all curled up.
00:27:02You are excited
00:27:03because you're telling her
00:27:04you went snowboarding.
00:27:05Um...
00:27:06I don't snowboard.
00:27:08It's just an exercise.
00:27:09I'm a skier,
00:27:10not a snowboarder.
00:27:11Well, it's just an exercise.
00:27:12That's all we're doing
00:27:13right now.
00:27:14Visualizing your environment.
00:27:15Do you see yourself?
00:27:17Zoe?
00:27:18Sofa?
00:27:19Any of it?
00:27:20Yeah, I can see
00:27:21the inside of my eyelids.
00:27:24Okay.
00:27:26Maybe we should just, uh...
00:27:29You can open your eyes.
00:27:30I think that we should
00:27:31just move on
00:27:32from the furniture
00:27:33and we'll try
00:27:34something else.
00:27:35Okay?
00:27:36Okay.
00:27:41Do you have a preference here?
00:27:43I don't know.
00:27:44All the same to me.
00:27:45They're just pillows.
00:27:46Well,
00:27:47they are pillows
00:27:48but they're not the same.
00:27:49Okay?
00:27:50They're different.
00:27:51You have army,
00:27:52moss,
00:27:53fern,
00:27:54forest,
00:27:55lime.
00:27:56Green.
00:27:58Just all green.
00:28:00Let me try something.
00:28:02Okay.
00:28:03Like, for instance,
00:28:04this pillow right here.
00:28:05I remember the time
00:28:06that my grandparents
00:28:07took me to the park
00:28:08and we had this
00:28:09all-day picnic.
00:28:10It was amazing.
00:28:11And this shade of green
00:28:12is the exact
00:28:13same shade of green
00:28:14as the grass.
00:28:15Hmm.
00:28:16Okay?
00:28:17And, oh, oh,
00:28:18here.
00:28:19This pillow
00:28:20has got a very
00:28:21luxurious fabric on it
00:28:22so this would maybe
00:28:23make someone
00:28:24feel abundant
00:28:25if they had that
00:28:26in their house.
00:28:27That's the A part
00:28:28of my map system.
00:28:29Yeah, I don't get
00:28:30the whole map system.
00:28:31When Rebecca and I
00:28:32moved into the house,
00:28:33we just wanted it
00:28:34to be beautiful.
00:28:35It doesn't have to
00:28:36mean uncomfortable.
00:28:37Yeah, but being comfortable
00:28:38doesn't need to mean
00:28:39not good enough.
00:28:40I'm sorry.
00:28:41I don't know.
00:28:42I just like the pillows
00:28:43that we have.
00:28:44That's all.
00:28:45Okay.
00:28:46Well, we can keep
00:28:47some of those
00:28:48and we'll just add
00:28:49some new ones in.
00:28:50Why don't we
00:28:51move on to lamps?
00:28:52Lamps are fun.
00:28:53Yeah.
00:28:56Either this could add,
00:28:57um,
00:28:58just a little...
00:29:04By the way,
00:29:05you're not gonna get
00:29:06anything from this.
00:29:07Don't worry.
00:29:08I can edit something together.
00:29:09Come on.
00:29:10Get back out there.
00:29:11You got this.
00:29:12Come on.
00:29:13Ahem.
00:29:14Well, I was just thinking
00:29:15that
00:29:16this lamp right here,
00:29:17I mean,
00:29:18this could add
00:29:19the perfect pop of color
00:29:20that we need.
00:29:21Okay.
00:29:22Ah.
00:29:23What?
00:29:24You always talk like that?
00:29:25Talk?
00:29:26Talk like what?
00:29:27Well...
00:29:28You mean like a designer?
00:29:30Oh, yeah.
00:29:31Yeah, I do.
00:29:32Because I am a designer.
00:29:33That's how we all talk.
00:29:34Yeah.
00:29:35Got it.
00:29:36Ahem.
00:29:37Sorry.
00:29:38Yeah, it's great.
00:29:39What are you doing?
00:29:40Ah.
00:29:41You don't have to take the lamp
00:29:42just because I said...
00:29:44Here you go.
00:29:45We'll take this one.
00:29:46Okay.
00:29:50Oh, um,
00:29:51by the way,
00:29:52I made these for you.
00:29:53What are these?
00:29:54Spare keys to the house.
00:29:58Thank you.
00:29:59All family.
00:30:00Yeah, that's great.
00:30:01It's a nice lamp.
00:30:02Love it.
00:30:03Yeah.
00:30:04The whole thing
00:30:05is just goofy to me.
00:30:06She asked me to imagine
00:30:08sitting in the sofa,
00:30:09and I'm actually
00:30:10sitting in the sofa,
00:30:12so how am I supposed
00:30:13to imagine it?
00:30:14Would you ask Da Vinci
00:30:15why he held his brush
00:30:16a certain way?
00:30:17Maybe.
00:30:18Let the genius do her work,
00:30:20Grant.
00:30:21Joel, you just don't get it.
00:30:22She's turning my house
00:30:23upside down.
00:30:24Well, you have it.
00:30:25You have it.
00:30:26You have it.
00:30:27You have it.
00:30:28Well, you haven't really
00:30:29given her a chance.
00:30:32Why don't you invite her
00:30:33to dinner at the restaurant?
00:30:34If you sit down
00:30:35and talk to Bethany
00:30:36about her plans,
00:30:37you might feel a little
00:30:38better about the changes.
00:30:42Well,
00:30:43maybe you're right.
00:30:51So, that's what
00:30:52I was planning.
00:30:53What do you think?
00:30:54That's a great idea.
00:30:55Yeah?
00:30:56Okay, well,
00:30:57go ask her.
00:30:58No, Dad.
00:30:59You have to ask her.
00:31:00That's how she'll know
00:31:01you're not mad anymore.
00:31:02Well, I was never mad.
00:31:03Just, just go.
00:31:04No.
00:31:05It's no big deal.
00:31:06Go.
00:31:07Go.
00:31:13Um, actually,
00:31:14could you put that one
00:31:15back, please?
00:31:16Oh, well, yeah.
00:31:17We're gonna put
00:31:18everything back.
00:31:19I was just clearing out
00:31:20the cabinets and making
00:31:21room for the organizers,
00:31:22but then I thought
00:31:23this one has a chip,
00:31:24so maybe if we toss it?
00:31:25Yeah, no.
00:31:26It's my wife Rebecca's
00:31:27bowl, so...
00:31:28Oh.
00:31:29Oh, yeah.
00:31:30Of course.
00:31:31We'll keep this.
00:31:33Thank you.
00:31:37Seems we just keep
00:31:38getting off
00:31:39on the wrong foot here.
00:31:40Sorry.
00:31:41Yeah.
00:31:42I know.
00:31:43Um,
00:31:44I know how much
00:31:45you've been doing
00:31:46for Zoey and me,
00:31:47and, um,
00:31:48you know,
00:31:49I just want to ask you
00:31:50if you want to maybe
00:31:51come to dinner with us
00:31:52tomorrow night at the lodge.
00:31:53You know, start over,
00:31:54say thank you,
00:31:55uh...
00:31:57Yeah.
00:31:58Yes.
00:31:59Yeah?
00:32:00Yeah, I would like that.
00:32:01A lot.
00:32:02Okay.
00:32:03Um,
00:32:04let's say, uh,
00:32:057 o'clock.
00:32:06Perfect.
00:32:07Okay.
00:32:08All right.
00:32:09Um, okay.
00:32:10I'll see you tomorrow.
00:32:11Okay.
00:32:12Yeah, tomorrow.
00:32:137 o'clock.
00:32:14Yeah.
00:32:157.
00:32:16I'll be there.
00:32:17Okay.
00:32:18Whew.
00:32:19Ahem.
00:32:30Bethany?
00:32:31Hi.
00:32:32Grant and Zoey are waiting
00:32:33for you.
00:32:34May I?
00:32:35Oh, yeah.
00:32:36Thank you.
00:32:37This way.
00:32:38Hi.
00:32:39Hi.
00:32:40Hi, Zoey.
00:32:41Thanks for coming.
00:32:42I can take that
00:32:43for you.
00:32:44Thank you.
00:32:45Thank you.
00:32:46Sure.
00:32:47Thank you for having me.
00:32:49This place is beautiful.
00:32:50I-I can't believe
00:32:51I've never been here
00:32:52to have dinner.
00:32:53Joel even made us
00:32:54a special menu.
00:32:55So fancy.
00:32:56Voila.
00:32:57Here he is.
00:32:58Welcome.
00:32:59Thank you.
00:33:00We'll be starting off tonight
00:33:01with an amuse-bouche.
00:33:02This is an apricot canapé
00:33:04with goat cheese,
00:33:05almonds, and rosemary.
00:33:07Ooh.
00:33:08This looks too pretty to eat.
00:33:10Ha!
00:33:11But I will.
00:33:12Zoey, we're making
00:33:13bananas foster tonight.
00:33:14You want to watch
00:33:15the pastry chef
00:33:16set something on fire?
00:33:17Yeah.
00:33:18Is that okay, Dad?
00:33:19As long as it's not you.
00:33:21You be careful.
00:33:23Listen to Joel, all right?
00:33:24Okay, Dad.
00:33:25I'll be careful.
00:33:26Bye.
00:33:27So, um,
00:33:28you look really nice.
00:33:30Oh, uh, thank you.
00:33:32You, too.
00:33:34Thank you.
00:33:35Ahem.
00:33:36Some wine?
00:33:37Yes, I would love some.
00:33:39Thank you.
00:33:40Great.
00:33:41So I just have to tell you,
00:33:42Zoey is so excited,
00:33:44and she can't stop talking
00:33:45about how much she loves
00:33:46what you're planning
00:33:47for her room.
00:33:48Mm, yeah,
00:33:49and she's being very cute
00:33:50about it.
00:33:51Yeah.
00:33:52And I hate to admit,
00:33:53I actually think
00:33:55the kitchen's gonna turn out well.
00:33:57You do?
00:33:58Oh, I'm so glad
00:33:59you think so.
00:34:00You know,
00:34:01I was thinking
00:34:02about something today.
00:34:03I want to honor
00:34:04Rebecca's bowl in some way,
00:34:05so how do you feel
00:34:07about maybe putting it
00:34:08in a shadow box
00:34:10over the stove
00:34:11up against the wall?
00:34:12Mm.
00:34:13How about this?
00:34:14How about a compromise?
00:34:15In order to honor the bowl,
00:34:17maybe we build
00:34:18a special shelf.
00:34:19That way,
00:34:20it can still be used.
00:34:21It's not a bad idea.
00:34:23No?
00:34:24No.
00:34:25Maybe I should be a designer.
00:34:26Oh, no,
00:34:27you leave that up to me.
00:34:29That's a good idea.
00:34:31And I've also decided
00:34:33that, um,
00:34:35I'm gonna get more
00:34:36on board with things.
00:34:37Yeah?
00:34:38Yeah.
00:34:39Well, I have decided
00:34:40that I need to be
00:34:41a little bit more sensitive
00:34:42to all the changes
00:34:43that are happening
00:34:44because I know
00:34:45that there's a lot.
00:34:46Yeah.
00:34:47I feel like, you know,
00:34:48if we could just
00:34:49communicate like this,
00:34:50then that would be great
00:34:51and that way
00:34:52there'd be more of you
00:34:53in the house.
00:34:54That's what I want,
00:34:56you know?
00:34:57That's the way it should be.
00:35:00Deal.
00:35:01To making a house a home.
00:35:03To making a house a home.
00:35:05Mm-hmm.
00:35:07Mm-hmm.
00:35:14Thanks for coming over, Ryder.
00:35:17Ugh, I just can't figure
00:35:18this guy out.
00:35:20Well, it sounds like
00:35:21you two are finding
00:35:22some common ground.
00:35:24I don't know.
00:35:25We haven't actually
00:35:26done anything yet.
00:35:27Sometimes adversity
00:35:28breeds genius.
00:35:29Well, I just prefer
00:35:30everyone gets along
00:35:31and does what I say
00:35:33every once in a while.
00:35:35I'm a dad.
00:35:36Everybody does what I say.
00:35:37Somehow I'm surviving.
00:35:39Here you go.
00:35:40Thanks.
00:35:42I've just got a lot
00:35:43riding on these next few weeks.
00:35:44I need everything
00:35:45to move smoothly, you know?
00:35:47What if they don't?
00:35:49They have to.
00:35:50But they probably won't.
00:35:52And then you know
00:35:53what'll happen?
00:35:54What?
00:35:55You'll still finish
00:35:56and the house won't burn down
00:35:57and somehow it'll still
00:35:58be better than it was before.
00:35:59Everyone wins.
00:36:01I don't like it
00:36:02when you're all calm and logical
00:36:03when I'm trying
00:36:04a worst-case scenario situation.
00:36:05You know that?
00:36:06That's just what
00:36:07big brothers do.
00:36:09Well, it's annoying.
00:36:11And my work here is done.
00:36:15Seriously, Bethany,
00:36:16you're going to have
00:36:17to learn to be okay
00:36:18with just mostly perfect
00:36:19or you'll go nuts.
00:36:26What do you think
00:36:27this is supposed to be?
00:36:31Like what the artist
00:36:33has done here,
00:36:34there's a real
00:36:36sense of movement.
00:36:39A bit like an octopus
00:36:40swallowing through
00:36:41a winder knot.
00:36:42I was going to say octopus.
00:36:43Maybe a squid?
00:36:45Oh, any of the cephalopods,
00:36:46really.
00:36:47Cephalopod, nice word.
00:36:49I'm impressed.
00:36:50How much do you think
00:36:51this masterpiece is?
00:36:52Ooh.
00:36:53Ouch.
00:36:54You sure it doesn't
00:36:55do anything else?
00:36:56It's one expensive calamari.
00:36:57Oh, you know,
00:36:58it's like my grandma
00:36:59always said,
00:37:00there's a hat for every hit.
00:37:01What's that mean?
00:37:02Well, it means
00:37:03there's someone
00:37:04to love everything.
00:37:05Oh.
00:37:06And I do mean
00:37:07everything.
00:37:08Excuse me.
00:37:14Looks like somebody
00:37:15found their hat.
00:37:19Okay, so,
00:37:20there's a table
00:37:21right up here
00:37:23that I believe
00:37:24actually would be
00:37:25perfect in the...
00:37:33You like this?
00:37:34I do.
00:37:37What do you like about it?
00:37:38Uh...
00:37:40Well, before I lived here
00:37:41in Windermere,
00:37:42my parents had a cabin
00:37:43up here.
00:37:44Mm.
00:37:45Some of my favorite
00:37:46memories are up there.
00:37:47And that cabin
00:37:48reminds you of it?
00:37:49Yeah, it's pretty close.
00:37:52My sister and I
00:37:53would go out in the snow,
00:37:54and we would make snowballs
00:37:55and snowmen,
00:37:56and our hands would freeze.
00:37:57We'd be out there
00:37:58for hours.
00:37:59And that life
00:38:00would be worth it.
00:38:01For hours.
00:38:02And that light
00:38:03in the window...
00:38:04Yeah?
00:38:05...reminds me
00:38:06of this huge fire
00:38:07my mom used to make.
00:38:08And she'd warm these blankets
00:38:09next to the fire,
00:38:10and then she'd have hot cocoa
00:38:11waiting for us
00:38:12when we got in the house.
00:38:14Oh, it was great.
00:38:15She still does that.
00:38:19Yeah, it looks peaceful.
00:38:21It was.
00:38:23You should get it.
00:38:26Really?
00:38:27Yes.
00:38:28You sure it goes
00:38:29with the whole theme?
00:38:30Yes.
00:38:31It goes
00:38:32with the whole theme.
00:38:34Because you love it.
00:38:38Okay.
00:38:41Yeah.
00:38:42I can't believe
00:38:43somebody bought that thing.
00:38:44Where do you even
00:38:45put something like that?
00:38:46I've got a couple
00:38:47rusty pipes and a hammer
00:38:48in the garage.
00:38:49Maybe I should become
00:38:50a sculptor.
00:38:51I'd buy it.
00:38:53Hey!
00:38:54Perfect timing.
00:38:55Your desk just arrived.
00:38:56You should come see.
00:38:57Good.
00:39:00Okay.
00:39:10I just, uh...
00:39:11I thought you'd like
00:39:12to be able to look
00:39:13out on nature.
00:39:20And also...
00:39:23something meaningful
00:39:25from Zoe's room.
00:39:30Thank you.
00:39:40That was perfect.
00:39:43Thank you.
00:39:45You're welcome.
00:39:49Hello, everyone.
00:39:50How are you?
00:39:51Thank you so much
00:39:52for joining us
00:39:53and thank you for your patience.
00:39:54We're gonna get started
00:39:55in about five minutes.
00:39:56Okay.
00:39:58Thank you.
00:40:00Yeah.
00:40:01The Arroyo Pass
00:40:02is iced over.
00:40:03The Sommelier
00:40:04is not gonna make it.
00:40:05Great.
00:40:07Okay, uh...
00:40:08You wouldn't happen to have
00:40:09your Sommelier certificate,
00:40:10would you?
00:40:11No, but you do.
00:40:13Okay.
00:40:14Uh, do me a favor.
00:40:15Can you entertain them
00:40:16for a little bit
00:40:17while I call Zoe?
00:40:18Okay.
00:40:19All right, everyone.
00:40:20Um, while we wait
00:40:21for the wine tasting
00:40:22to begin, I'll...
00:40:25Hi, Dad.
00:40:26You're late.
00:40:27Hey, sweetie.
00:40:28I know.
00:40:29I'm on my way to the lodge.
00:40:30Anyway,
00:40:31you can hang out there
00:40:32for a little while longer.
00:40:33I'll call Joel.
00:40:34He'll come get me.
00:40:35Uh, if you can't reach him,
00:40:36let me know.
00:40:37We'll figure out something else.
00:40:38Okay.
00:40:39Okay, sweetie.
00:40:44This is Joel.
00:40:45Leave a message at the beep.
00:40:56This is Bethany.
00:40:57Hi.
00:40:59Zoe?
00:41:00Dad's stuck at work
00:41:01and Joel isn't answering.
00:41:02Can you come pick me up
00:41:03from skating practice?
00:41:04Um, do you think
00:41:05that'll be okay with your dad?
00:41:06Yeah.
00:41:07I'll text him
00:41:08and tell him you're coming.
00:41:09I just don't want you
00:41:10to think he's irresponsible
00:41:11or anything
00:41:12because he's 100% responsible.
00:41:13Okay.
00:41:14All right, yeah.
00:41:15Uh, I can be there
00:41:16in like, uh, ten minutes?

00:41:32It's so good.
00:41:33I cannot believe
00:41:34she got out of that.
00:41:35Yeah, I know.
00:41:36That's exactly
00:41:37what I was thinking.

00:42:33It's not that.
00:42:34You getting pushed back for the magazine?
00:42:36Nope.
00:42:37It's not that either.
00:42:38Well, you're not being very convincing.
00:42:40OK, it's not that bad, really.
00:42:42Just brace yourself a little, OK?
00:42:44I don't really like the sound of that.
00:42:46What are you talking about?
00:42:47Well, our video updates are getting
00:42:49some serious traction on your website
00:42:51because you and Grant are getting shipped.
00:42:55Where?
00:42:56It's like when people want you to get together
00:42:59like a couple, you get relationship-ed.
00:43:03What?
00:43:04Oh, no, wait.
00:43:05This one is so good.
00:43:07It's like watching an old black-and-white movie
00:43:09where they argue until they fall in love.
00:43:12Wait, wait, wait.
00:43:13What's that last one say?
00:43:14Just kiss already.
00:43:16That's enough.
00:43:18I mean, it's just a silly online thing anyway.
00:43:21She probably doesn't have that many followers.
00:43:23Oh, she's been gaining followers
00:43:24since the contest started.
00:43:25How many could she possibly have?
00:43:28200,487.
00:43:34Oh, 88.
00:43:36This is what people think?
00:43:38Well, who cares what people think?
00:43:39It's getting us subscribers.
00:43:40I care what people think.
00:43:41I mean, I want to be...
00:43:43Whoa, that is a lot of people.

00:44:09Okay, so we're gonna do another visualization, okay?
00:44:12Don't you dare.
00:44:14Okay, I'm sorry.
00:44:15Okay.
00:44:16All right, close your eyes.
00:44:18Okay.
00:44:19Okay.
00:44:20All right, now take this pillow.
00:44:22Now, rub your hand over the pillow.
00:44:25Mm-hmm.
00:44:26Okay.
00:44:27Give me that one.
00:44:29All right.
00:44:30Now take this one.

00:44:39Mm.
00:44:40Now tell me which one of those pillows speaks to you.
00:44:43Oh, these are these new fancy talking pillows.
00:44:46You gonna be difficult?
00:44:47No, sorry.
00:44:49Uh, I like the first one better.
00:44:51Okay, so here's the first one, okay?
00:44:53Mm-hmm.
00:44:54Take this again.
00:44:55Ooh.
00:44:56Huh?
00:44:57This is so comfy.
00:44:58Nice.
00:44:59So we have a winner.
00:45:03Okay.
00:45:04Oh, I see.
00:45:05I think you think you're funny.
00:45:07Is that funny to you?
00:45:08No, no.
00:45:09This is very serious business.
00:45:10I'm sorry.
00:45:11Be very serious.
00:45:12Excuse me, miss, can we...
00:45:13Stop, don't you dare.
00:45:15Oh, you don't want to get this started, Mr. Rogers.
00:45:18You don't want to get this started, Mr. Oliver.
00:45:20Okay, children.
00:45:21Yep.
00:45:22What?
00:45:23That's enough.
00:45:24Ah-ha!
00:45:29Completely alone, snow-covered tree limbs,
00:45:32little critters running around.
00:45:33Critters?
00:45:35Oh, there he is.
00:45:36I got your coffee waiting for you.
00:45:38Thanks, man.
00:45:39You guys don't know each other, do you?
00:45:40No.
00:45:41Emerson, Joel, Joel, Emerson.
00:45:42Hi.
00:45:43Nice to meet you.
00:45:44Nice to meet you.
00:45:45Taking a little break from our home makeover shopping.
00:45:47How'd it go today?
00:45:48We bought pillows.
00:45:49Lots of pillows.
00:45:51Did we ever.
00:45:52Did you know that there are approximately
00:45:54nine million shades of the color green?
00:45:56Yeah.
00:45:57But they are all equally important.
00:45:59Mmm.
00:46:00Mmm.
00:46:01You're learning.
00:46:02I'm very enthusiastically mad.
00:46:06Oh, we got the update status
00:46:07called by Beautiful Homes Magazine.
00:46:09And we still have five more days,
00:46:10so I don't know why they're micromanaging.
00:46:12Welcome to the big times, Miss Kane.
00:46:14All right, guys, sorry.
00:46:16Kath and Ethan leave, but...
00:46:18Well, they're talking about doing
00:46:20an online release before the issue comes out.
00:46:22So I can just pick up the end tables
00:46:24before I come tomorrow morning.
00:46:25Will you be there?
00:46:26No, I doubt it.
00:46:27I mean, I was lucky enough to get away today.
00:46:29Lisa deserves to be sainted.
00:46:31But I should be home by dinner,
00:46:33if you're still there then.
00:46:34Uh...
00:46:36Uh, I can be if...
00:46:38Yeah, okay.
00:46:39Yes, I'll be there.
00:46:40Okay.
00:46:41All right, good.
00:46:42Yeah.
00:46:43Okay, yeah.
00:46:44Yeah.
00:46:45See you when I see you.
00:46:46I will see you then.
00:46:47See you then.
00:46:48Okay.
00:46:49We're gonna go in the house.
00:46:50Nice to meet you.
00:46:51Nice to meet you.
00:46:52Bye, guys.
00:46:53Bye.
00:46:54Bye.
00:46:55Bye.
00:46:56Oh, she's been working so hard
00:46:57trying to get everything done on time.
00:46:59She's great.
00:47:00Maybe you should do something
00:47:01to take her mind off the house
00:47:03for a couple hours, you know?
00:47:04Something just for fun.
00:47:06That's a good idea.
00:47:07What does Bethany like to do?
00:47:09Work.
00:47:10Work.
00:47:11I don't even know if she'd have time for fun.
00:47:13Maybe she needs a little nudge, you know?
00:47:15Sometimes you have to encourage people
00:47:17to have a good time.
00:47:18I don't know when I'd do it.
00:47:19I've got the cross-country ski tour
00:47:21at the lodge tomorrow.
00:47:22I've got that snowman-making workshop.
00:47:24Why don't you invite her to come along?
00:47:26But then I'd have to ask Lisa to step up again,
00:47:28and that's...
00:47:29I'm sure she won't mind.
00:47:31I guess I would be there to put out any fires
00:47:34if she really needed me.
00:47:35That sounds fun.
00:47:36Can I come?
00:47:37Yeah.
00:47:38Yeah, we'll make a day of it.
00:47:40Good idea.
00:47:41Good idea.
00:47:42Good.
00:47:43Well, we're good for something.
00:47:47Okay, dinner's ready.
00:47:49Thanks, sis.
00:47:50Hey, I appreciate you taking care of me
00:47:52while the kids are away.
00:47:53You can answer it.
00:47:55No, no, no, no, it's fine.
00:47:57But it could be the president calling
00:47:59to ask you to redecorate the White House.
00:48:01I doubt that.
00:48:03What if it is?
00:48:04I mean, it could be a huge social...
00:48:06Okay, stop.
00:48:07What's going to happen to this home decor?
00:48:09Uh...
00:48:12Hey.
00:48:13Hey.
00:48:14Speak up.
00:48:17Uh, so I changed my mind.
00:48:19Uh, about the end tables?
00:48:22Uh, about tomorrow, yeah.
00:48:24I'm going to be at the house when you get here.
00:48:27Oh, okay.
00:48:29Uh, great.
00:48:31We have a surprise for you.
00:48:33You have a surprise for me?
00:48:35What kind of surprise?
00:48:37Well, that's for us to know and you to find out.
00:48:39I don't really like surprises.
00:48:42Oh, really?
00:48:43Miss, I like to plan my life down to the molecule.
00:48:46Okay, I see where this is going.
00:48:48You're not going to tell me, are you?
00:48:50Nope.
00:48:51See you tomorrow.
00:48:53Oh, and dress warmly.
00:48:57I love surprises.
00:48:58I know.
00:48:59Not the White House?
00:49:01Uh, no, it was not.
00:49:03He just has a surprise for me.
00:49:05Who?
00:49:06Mr. Home Decor?
00:49:07Mm.
00:49:08He said to dress warm.
00:49:12Do we have to come up with a clever excuse?
00:49:15No.
00:49:16It could be anything.
00:49:17It could be candles askew, you stubbed your toe.
00:49:20You think I'm going to chicken out?
00:49:22Who, me?
00:49:23You know what?
00:49:24I think it sounds like fun.
00:49:26And I think you like this guy.
00:49:29What?
00:49:30Oh, Mona, I do not like him.
00:49:33I think you think he's cute and it makes you like surprises.
00:49:37Stop.
00:49:38Just stop being ridiculous.
00:49:39Let's just eat.
00:49:40Can we just have a nice dinner, please?
00:49:42Hi, guys.
00:49:43Hi, Bethany.
00:49:46Why are you both looking at me like that?
00:49:49Are you ready for your surprise?
00:49:51Yeah.
00:49:52Yeah.
00:49:53I'm ready.
00:49:56Wait, you even have a surprise for me?
00:49:59Oh, so you do like me.
00:50:01Yes.
00:50:02We all do.
00:50:03Do you like my surprise?
00:50:05Oh, yes, I do.
00:50:08She likes my surprise.
00:50:09You do?
00:50:10Yeah.
00:50:13Should we bring in the tables first?
00:50:19All right, well, what is going on?
00:50:24Is the surprise out here?
00:50:26Nope, it's at the lodge.
00:50:28Oh, oh, OK, so we're going to the lodge.
00:50:31You are on a need-to-know basis,
00:50:33and we haven't decided whether or not you need to know.
00:50:36Don't worry, you're going to like it.
00:50:41What are you up to?
00:51:06Come on.
00:51:11Surprise.
00:51:16OK, let's go get changed.
00:51:19So why isn't Zoe coming?
00:51:21Oh, she didn't want to take the chance of injuring
00:51:23herself before her exhibition.
00:51:25Injuring herself?
00:51:27Well, how hard are these runs?
00:51:30Don't worry, I'll take it slow.
00:51:33In that case, good luck keeping up.
00:51:36Ha ha ha.
00:51:38Hold on.
00:51:40Something tells me you've done this before.
00:51:41Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
00:51:46Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
00:51:50Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
00:51:53Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
00:51:57There I was skydiving down the avenue.
00:52:00I saw your red down into blue.
00:52:03So I knew I had to talk to you.
00:52:06You look like you've been crying every single day.
00:52:09Hot cocoa.
00:52:10Yes, yes.
00:52:11Mm.
00:52:20Hello?
00:52:21Hey, just checking in to see how everything's going.
00:52:24You're supposed to be having fun right now,
00:52:26not thinking about the house.
00:52:27No, I'm just taking a little break in the fun.
00:52:30Have you got the curtains on yet?
00:52:31Yeah, I'm setting it up right now.
00:52:33How's your day going?
00:52:34Is it filled with all kinds of frozen delights?
00:52:36Yeah, it is.
00:52:37We just got through making a snowman.
00:52:40I haven't done that since I was 10.
00:52:42Mm, then it sounds like it was high time.
00:52:44Bethany, come on.
00:52:45That's enough work.
00:52:46Let's go.
00:52:47Oh, you know what?
00:52:48I have to go.
00:52:49I'm roasting marshmallows.
00:52:50Marshmallows?
00:52:51Ooh, yummy.
00:52:52I'll talk to you later. Bye.
00:52:53All right, bye.
00:52:57You want one or two marshmallows?
00:52:59Three.
00:53:00Three?
00:53:01Yeah.
00:53:02Oh, the trifecta.
00:53:05There you go.
00:53:06Thank you.
00:53:06Sure.
00:53:07So are you a golden brown or a charred and crispy
00:53:12kind of marshmallow roaster?
00:53:13Well, I'm more of the accidentally
00:53:15catch it on fire kind.
00:53:17Oh, I see that.
00:53:18See?
00:53:19Ah!
00:53:21OK, OK, OK.
00:53:22Put this one down.
00:53:23We'll concentrate on this one.
00:53:25Are you going to teach me?
00:53:26I'm going to teach you.
00:53:27Yeah, that's perfect.
00:53:28All right.
00:53:29Now keep it about 10 inches away and slowly just rotate it.
00:53:35Mm-hmm.
00:53:36Mm-hmm.
00:53:37Mm-hmm.
00:53:37Mm-hmm.
00:53:38Mm-hmm.
00:53:39Mm-hmm.
00:53:40Mm-hmm.
00:53:41Mm-hmm.
00:53:41Mm-hmm.
00:53:42Mm-hmm.
00:53:43Mm-hmm.
00:53:44Mm-hmm.
00:53:45Well, thank you for taking Zoe to skating practice.
00:53:47No, it's no problem.
00:53:49And I'll pick her up after 2.
00:53:50And stay with her until you get back home tonight.
00:53:52What are you two up to next?
00:53:54Oh, I haven't quite figured that out yet.
00:53:56But if we don't come back in a couple hours,
00:53:58send out a search party.
00:53:59Oh, no.
00:54:00Will do.
00:54:01Bye, Dad.
00:54:02Bye, Bethany.
00:54:03Bye.
00:54:04Bye, Zoe.
00:54:06So you really don't know what we're doing.
00:54:07Oh, I figured we'd take a walk around the mountain.
00:54:10Walk around the mountain?
00:54:11It's dark.
00:54:13I got a flashlight.
00:54:14But it's cold.
00:54:16Oh, all right.
00:54:19I can fix that.
00:54:21Boom.
00:54:22There you go.
00:54:23Nice and cozy.
00:54:24Yeah.
00:54:25Come on.
00:54:28So there's this great path that we use mostly
00:54:31in the summer and the spring.
00:54:32But it's beautiful in the snow, too.
00:54:34Yeah?
00:54:35Got my own private little tour.
00:54:37Yes, you do.
00:54:40Oh, wow.
00:54:41Look at that.
00:54:41Come here.
00:54:43See that right there?
00:54:45It's the Orion Nebula.
00:54:46Wow.
00:54:47It's beautiful.
00:54:48Uh-huh.
00:54:49Why does it look so much different
00:54:51than all the other stars?
00:54:52Well, it's actually stars that are
00:54:54surrounded by gases and dust.
00:54:55And that's why it has that glow.
00:54:57Really?
00:54:58Yeah.
00:55:00Gosh, they're all so bright tonight.
00:55:02When it's this cold out, all the moisture in the air freezes.
00:55:05And that's why it's so clear.
00:55:08Do you spend all your free time on the internet?
00:55:11I wish I had free time.
00:55:14No, I'd like to get out here as much as I possibly can.
00:55:17Stand out under this big sky.
00:55:19It just reminds me of how little my problems actually are.
00:55:24Yeah, well, I'll have to remember
00:55:27that the next time I'm in the middle of a deadline.
00:55:33So did you have fun today?
00:55:36Yeah.
00:55:36You know what?
00:55:38I have had fun.
00:55:40And it's crazy, because I honestly
00:55:42thought I'd be freaking out about not being at the house.
00:55:44But I haven't.
00:55:46I've barely even thought about the house.
00:55:50Feels good to live in the moment, doesn't it?
00:55:54Yeah.
00:55:56I guess I needed this.
00:56:05Oh.
00:56:07Did you plan this, too?
00:56:08Yes.
00:56:09It's all part of my master plan.
00:56:12OK, well, let's keep going.
00:56:14Where are we going?
00:56:15We're going to follow this path down to this incredible
00:56:18natural cavern.
00:56:19That sounds dangerous.
00:56:20No, no.
00:56:21No, don't worry.
00:56:22The bears are friendly.
00:56:23Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
00:56:24I don't do bears.
00:56:25Yes, you do.
00:56:25I'm joking.
00:56:26You're joking.
00:56:27Come on.
00:56:28No bears out here.
00:56:31Stop it.
00:56:33Got you back in one piece.
00:56:35Yeah, I guess you did.
00:56:37Well, I had a great day.
00:56:41Yeah, me too.
00:56:43You know what?
00:56:44Stay right there for one second.
00:56:48Wait, where are you going?
00:56:50What?
00:56:50What?
00:56:55That's very sweet of you.
00:56:59Thank you.
00:57:00You're welcome.
00:57:01Follow me.
00:57:03What?
00:57:04Follow me.
00:57:05Come on.
00:57:07What are we doing?
00:57:08Watch your step.
00:57:09It's so dark.
00:57:10I know, I know.
00:57:11OK, stand right here.
00:57:12OK.
00:57:13All right, hold on.
00:57:14Hold on.
00:57:15All right.
00:57:16And.
00:57:19Oh.
00:57:21I didn't know we hung these yet.
00:57:23Oh, no, no, no.
00:57:24I did it last night.
00:57:25You did it.
00:57:26Yeah, don't worry.
00:57:27I checked with Emerson first.
00:57:28She said it was OK.
00:57:29Well, of course it's OK.
00:57:32Oh, wow.
00:57:34Look at this.
00:57:35You did a really good job.
00:57:36They're beautiful.
00:57:37Thank you.
00:57:38Well, we wouldn't have any of this if it wasn't for you.
00:57:40So thank you.
00:57:42Oh, you're welcome.
00:57:45However, I think maybe I should get you some heaters too.
00:57:48Oh.
00:57:52What else?
00:57:56Oh.
00:57:58Thank you.
00:58:00I got you nice and cozy.
00:58:07Thank you.
00:58:16I'm so sorry.
00:58:17I thought it might be a raccoon.
00:58:19No, no, no, no.
00:58:20No problem.
00:58:21I was just leaving.
00:58:22I have to get some sleep.
00:58:23I missed a whole day of work.
00:58:25So a lot of catching up to do.
00:58:27So.
00:58:29I'm just going to go back in the house.
00:58:32Good night, guys.
00:58:32Good night.
00:58:35Well, yeah, I should get going.
00:58:37But I had a really great day.
00:58:38Thank you.
00:58:39Yeah, me too.
00:58:40Yeah.
00:58:41I'll see you tomorrow.
00:58:42Oh.
00:58:43Here.
00:58:43This bar.
00:58:44Thank you.
00:58:45Bye.
00:58:46Good night.
00:58:48Good night.
00:58:56What are you doing?
00:59:12Hey.
00:59:13Hey.
00:59:14Why are we meeting here?
00:59:15I could have just brought you a coffee.
00:59:16I mean, we've got to get to the house.
00:59:18I know. I know.
00:59:19I just wanted to talk to you before we got to the house.
00:59:23Uh-oh.
00:59:24Why do you look so serious?
00:59:25Grant.
00:59:28What about him?
00:59:29We almost kissed.
00:59:33I knew it.
00:59:34You do like him.
00:59:35I don't want to like him.
00:59:36Why?
00:59:37Because, for starters, he clearly
00:59:39really, really loved his wife.
00:59:41I mean, what if he's not ready to move on?
00:59:44Oh, and then not to mention, I'm working on his house.
00:59:46Yes.
00:59:47I'm a professional.
00:59:48And I'm trying to build an empire here, you know?
00:59:51I'm going to have big meetings.
00:59:52I'm going to have to fly away.
00:59:54This is all going to be very complicated.
00:59:57No.
00:59:58It's not.
01:00:00It's not?
01:00:01OK, look.
01:00:02Let me break it down for you so it's less complicated, OK?
01:00:04OK.
01:00:05Yeah, sure.
01:00:06Do that.
01:00:08His wife passed before our time.
01:00:11So he will always love her.
01:00:14That's what makes him a good man.
01:00:17And it doesn't mean that there isn't
01:00:19room in his heart for you, too.
01:00:22Look, sometimes, sometimes things
01:00:26just happen unexpectedly.
01:00:28It's a bit of a surprise.
01:00:30I don't like surprises.
01:00:32I know you don't.
01:00:34But they're not all bad.
01:00:37They really aren't.
01:00:42Why do you make so much sense?
01:00:45OK, this is the part where I'm supposed
01:00:47to tell you you're brilliant, listen to you,
01:00:49and follow all your brilliant advice?
01:00:51Yes, we're at that moment.
01:00:56I love you.
01:00:56I love you, too.
01:00:57Thank you.
01:00:58Anytime.
01:00:59Now let's go finish this house makeover, OK?
01:01:00Oh, we're late.
01:01:01Yeah, we are.
01:01:02We've got to go.
01:01:03Yeah.
01:01:06Here we are at the end of another project.
01:01:10No, I'm thinking I want to revisit
01:01:11the hardware in the kitchen.
01:01:13I don't know if it's 100%.
01:01:15Bethany, we have to finish.
01:01:17The magazine wants pictures like yesterday.
01:01:19Well, I'm sorry.
01:01:20That was too important a rush.
01:01:22Well, they're very happy with all the traffic
01:01:24we've gotten to our website.
01:01:25And they want to harness that momentum
01:01:27to launch the online spread.
01:01:29OK, well, then they can just give us a few extra days.
01:01:32Oh, honey, we don't have a few extra days.
01:01:35And besides, the viewers, they just
01:01:37want to know how the house turned out and what happens next.
01:01:40Well, I don't know what happens next.
01:01:43Maybe I, uh, maybe I write a second book.
01:01:47That would be good, but I was talking about you and Grant.
01:01:50Oh, yeah, who's that, huh?
01:01:52Yeah.
01:01:53I don't know.
01:01:55I'd like to know the answer to that, too.
01:02:05Hey, guys.
01:02:06Hey.
01:02:07I nailed my routine today.
01:02:09Coach said I embodied at least a duck.
01:02:12That is almost a swan.
01:02:14I am so close.
01:02:16That's awesome.
01:02:17Hey, you should come to my exhibition.
01:02:20Uh, I don't know.
01:02:23Isn't that just for family?
01:02:24We'd love it if you could come.
01:02:26Right, Dad?
01:02:29Yeah.
01:02:30Yeah, you should definitely come.
01:02:34OK, then, yeah.
01:02:35Yes, of course I would love to come and watch you.
01:02:38Great.
01:02:39Mm.
01:02:45I want to thank all of you for coming to support
01:02:47your skaters today and see their progress.
01:02:50They've all worked really hard.
01:02:52The first to skate today is Zoe Oliver.
01:02:55Woo!
01:02:55Woo!
01:02:56Woo!
01:02:57Woo!
01:02:58Woo!
01:02:59Woo!
01:02:59Woo!
01:03:00Woo!
01:03:01Woo!
01:03:02Woo!
01:03:03Woo!
01:03:04Come on.
01:03:06Yeah.
01:03:12She only started skating three months ago.
01:03:14Oh, you must be so proud.
01:03:16This is her mom.
01:03:17She looks great.
01:03:18Oh, I love this part.
01:03:19Mm-hmm.
01:03:20Mm-hmm.
01:03:21Mm-hmm.
01:03:21Mm-hmm.
01:03:23I love that part.
01:03:24She looks so good.
01:03:25Uh-huh.
01:03:28OK.
01:03:29OK, now she starts.
01:03:35She's doing great.
01:03:36Having done this for such a short period of time, huh?
01:03:38I know.
01:03:39Oh, she looks so good.
01:03:40She definitely didn't get her coordination from me.
01:03:44She's going to win.
01:03:45She's going to win the gold medal.
01:03:46Oh, yeah. No, no.
01:03:47It's just exhibition.
01:03:48There's no medals.
01:03:48What?
01:03:50Well, she would win if there was a medal.
01:03:51OK, yes, she would.
01:03:53All right, that's a big finish.
01:03:54Mm-hmm.
01:04:00Yes!
01:04:01Yes!
01:04:10Yes!
01:04:10Yes!
01:04:14Come on, guys.
01:04:15It's not like I was skating in the Olympics.
01:04:17Well, I still say if there was a gold medal,
01:04:20then you would have won it.
01:04:22Oh, OK, Zoe.
01:04:24Now, this is your spot.
01:04:25OK.
01:04:26And you get to organize this however you'd like.
01:04:28OK.
01:04:32OK.
01:04:34Good job.
01:04:36And, Dad, this is your spot.
01:04:41Who's the extra spot for?
01:04:43Well, today, that would be me.
01:04:48Oh, look, guys.
01:04:54Just a few more things to do to get the house
01:04:55perfect for the magazine spread, and more importantly,
01:04:59for the both of you.
01:05:01Yeah.
01:05:04Yes, later on today, they'll be coming
01:05:06by to take the pictures for the magazine, and then, um.
01:05:10And then, after that, you're done.
01:05:14Yeah, so that's it.
01:05:17It'll be weird not having you around all the time.
01:05:20Will you come back?
01:05:22No, I hope so.
01:05:32OK.
01:05:39And so our new year, new home transformation
01:05:42is finally complete.
01:05:44And I've done my very best to help Grant and Zoe turn
01:05:47their house into a home using my map system,
01:05:51incorporating meaning, abundance,
01:05:52and peace into their living space.
01:05:57Cut.
01:05:57That was great.
01:05:59Zoe, Grant, do you mind coming in?
01:06:02Oh, Zoe, I love that dress.
01:06:06Wow.
01:06:09You guys look great.
01:06:10Thank you.
01:06:12OK, you ready?
01:06:12Yeah.
01:06:13OK, don't be nervous.
01:06:14OK.
01:06:15OK?
01:06:16You're talking to her or me?
01:06:19And we're rolling.
01:06:21So I'm here with the Olivers, and I just
01:06:23wanted to take time, first of all,
01:06:25to say thank you for letting me come into your home
01:06:27and do all of this.
01:06:29I know it wasn't easy some of the time, so thank you.
01:06:33And I just wanted to ask you both,
01:06:37what was the experience like for you?
01:06:38What was your favorite part?
01:06:40I love my new bedroom and your hot cocoa.
01:06:43My hot cocoa is good, I will say.
01:06:46For me, it was all the free furniture.
01:06:48No, I figured that was the answer.
01:06:50I'm just kidding.
01:06:51Actually, the best part, I think, for both of us,
01:06:54especially myself, best part of it was having you here.
01:07:00That was the best part.
01:07:05Well, thank you.
01:07:06Thank you.
01:07:07That means a lot.
01:07:09Never had that answer before.
01:07:11Well, you heard it here, and we're finally finished.
01:07:15So thank you.
01:07:17Thank you.
01:07:20And cut.
01:07:21That was great, guys.
01:07:24Let's take some pictures.
01:07:25Hey, can I grab you guys over there on the sofa?
01:07:28OK.
01:07:29All right.
01:07:31Yeah, that looks great.
01:07:32Ready?
01:07:33And we got it.
01:07:36That's a wrap.
01:07:37We did it.
01:07:38Can I change back to my normal clothes?
01:07:40Yes, you can get out of these fancy clothes.
01:07:43Make sure you hang them up.
01:07:45Quick learner.
01:07:47Learn from the best.
01:07:50Do you guys feel like staying for dinner?
01:07:52Maybe order some pizzas or something?
01:07:56Yeah.
01:07:57Yeah.
01:07:58Yeah, that would be great, but no pizzas.
01:07:59Let's cook.
01:08:00It's more fun.
01:08:01Ooh, fancy.
01:08:02OK.
01:08:04I'm going to help them pack up and drop
01:08:06them off at the studio.
01:08:07I can be back here in 30 minutes.
01:08:08Sure, that's perfect.
01:08:09Great, thanks.
01:08:10Yeah, of course.
01:08:10See you soon.
01:08:12So we're going to make some pasta?
01:08:14No way.
01:08:15It's Taco Tuesday.
01:08:18Tacos it is.
01:08:19Sounds like it.
01:08:21Oh, hold on one second.
01:08:22Oh, that's Lisa.
01:08:23I'm going to grab it in the office.
01:08:25Excuse me.
01:08:26Hey, Lisa.
01:08:28Uh-huh.
01:08:30OK, yeah.
01:08:51This is so cool.
01:08:52I've never made tortillas from scratch before.
01:08:54Yeah.
01:08:55Well, they're actually pretty easy.
01:08:56And to be honest with you, they're way more yummy.
01:09:00OK, I think we're all prepped.
01:09:01Good, that's a great job.
01:09:03OK, now we have to brown the meat,
01:09:04and then we'll cook those.
01:09:05And in the meantime, I'm going to make a salad.
01:09:07So could you grab me a cutting board and a bowl?
01:09:11Yes.
01:09:12Thank you.
01:09:14Great.
01:09:16OK.
01:09:23Oh, mom's bowl.
01:09:25Oh, no, no, no, it's OK.
01:09:26We can fix this.
01:09:27Dad's going to be so mad at me.
01:09:29No, he's not.
01:09:30No, he's not.
01:09:30Hey, you guys OK?
01:09:32Uh, yeah.
01:09:37What happened to mom's bowl?
01:09:40Um, it's my fault. Yeah, I was going to wash the lettuce
01:09:45and then some water sprayed on me,
01:09:46and I backed into her, and I knocked it all over her head.
01:09:49Dad, it wasn't her.
01:09:50And she tried to catch it, but it was too late.
01:09:52Look, let me help you.
01:09:53I know we can fix it.
01:09:54Just stop, OK?
01:09:56Stop.
01:09:57I'll handle it.
01:10:02Rebecca wanted to do so much with this house.
01:10:04This was her dream house.
01:10:05She didn't get to do any of it.
01:10:08Sorry for that.
01:10:10Dad.
01:10:11Let's just do dinner another night, OK?
01:10:13Hey, hey.
01:10:14The magazine showed me the pictures from today.
01:10:16They look so good.
01:10:20Everything OK?
01:10:21Dad, you have to listen to me.
01:10:23Hey, silly.
01:10:25Why don't you just give me and your dad a second, OK?
01:10:31Where's the glue?
01:10:32Where's the glue?
01:10:33The glue was in this drawer.
01:10:34It's always been in this drawer.
01:10:38Sorry.
01:10:42Thank you.
01:10:43Grant, I'm just going to go.
01:10:59Hey, silly.
01:11:01I don't want you to worry about anything.
01:11:02We can fix this, OK?
01:11:03Promise?
01:11:04Yeah, I promise.
01:11:05I promise.
01:11:06And he is not mad at you.
01:11:08Just give him a little while, OK?
01:11:13OK.
01:11:36You ready?
01:11:40Yeah.
01:11:43He'll get over it.
01:11:44He just needs time to process.
01:11:47Are you OK?
01:11:51I don't know.
01:12:04Dad?
01:12:06What's up, sweetie?
01:12:07I have to tell you something.
01:12:10It's about Bethany.
01:12:14Look, it's late.
01:12:18But Dad.
01:12:19We should go to bed and we can talk in the morning.
01:12:21You always say that when you don't want
01:12:22to talk about grown up stuff.
01:12:27Should we say your mom's prayer?
01:12:31God bless this home.
01:12:32God bless this girl.
01:12:34God bless the people of the world.
01:12:37Teach us to love the way you do.
01:12:39And trust your love will see us through.
01:12:41Amen.
01:12:41Amen.
01:12:48Good night.
01:12:49Night.
01:12:56Night.
01:12:59Good night.
01:13:09Good morning.
01:13:11Morning.
01:13:17Turned out great, huh?
01:13:19Yeah.
01:13:22You should just call him.
01:13:25Hey, you want some tea?
01:13:27Bethany, I.
01:13:28Got some great tea in here that I think
01:13:30you're really going to like.
01:13:31It's chai.
01:13:40OK.
01:13:41You ready?
01:13:42Your session's about to start.
01:13:44Dad, I have to tell you something.
01:13:47OK.
01:13:49It wasn't Bethany's fault the bowl broke.
01:13:52I put it on the counter and it fell off.
01:13:59OK.
01:14:00Well, thanks for telling me.
01:14:04So now you don't have to be mad at her anymore.
01:14:06We can all be friends again.
01:14:10Yeah, I think it's a little more complicated than that.
01:14:13Why?
01:14:17I don't even know if she wants to be friends.
01:14:19Did you ask her?
01:14:22Dad, you have to tell Bethany you like her.
01:14:25But just do it.
01:14:26Don't be all grown up and confusing about it.
01:14:30OK.
01:14:34Get out there.
01:14:35Your practice is about to start.
01:14:38Like a guru.
01:14:47It's my fault. I mean, I'm fine.
01:14:49Should have known better than to get in a relationship.
01:14:52You know, the contest is over.
01:14:55I just, I got to get my head back in the game.
01:14:58You could try to work things out with him.
01:15:01He doesn't want to.
01:15:02Oh, you know, he kind of just ran away.
01:15:06I didn't run away.
01:15:08Do you intend to go back?
01:15:12No.
01:15:13Then that's away.
01:15:15The running's just metaphorical.
01:15:16No, but you don't understand.
01:15:18That relationship came with so much baggage,
01:15:20and I would have been over my head.
01:15:22Bethany, I've seen you take places
01:15:24that are falling apart and turn them
01:15:25into something wonderful.
01:15:26That's different.
01:15:27Not really.
01:15:29It's just that you know you can do it,
01:15:30so you aren't ever scared.
01:15:33I don't know where his head is.
01:15:34Exactly.
01:15:36You don't know.
01:15:47You know, if you stare at that too long,
01:15:49you're going to get those strobe light things in your eyes,
01:15:51like when you look into a flash.
01:15:57Let me ask you something.
01:16:00What do you really think of Bethany?
01:16:03I think she's great.
01:16:06Just all the changes at the house,
01:16:07the stress here at work, it just all seems so crazy.
01:16:12Is there a point in here somewhere?
01:16:14Zoya and I have just been doing so well lately.
01:16:18I don't know.
01:16:19I'm just afraid to upset the apple cart.
01:16:21When did we start talking about apples?
01:16:24You know what?
01:16:24You're right.
01:16:26I'm not ready.
01:16:26Oh, whoa, whoa.
01:16:27Hang on there one second.
01:16:30What?
01:16:31Don't pretend like I'm the one convincing you
01:16:32not to take a chance on Bethany.
01:16:34I'm not trying to pretend.
01:16:35You've got a million excuses, but I'm
01:16:36not going to be one of them.
01:16:37What are you talking about?
01:16:38I don't have any excuses.
01:16:40You can't stop time, Grant.
01:16:44Life just keeps going.
01:16:49And it's time for you to live it again.
01:16:52Stop burying yourself in your work.
01:16:55And stop hiding behind Zoe like she's
01:16:56the reason you can't move on.
01:17:01I don't know.
01:17:02All right.
01:17:05Then do something about it.
01:17:12You OK?
01:17:15It's just Sullivan.
01:17:16You don't want to sound like a robot.
01:17:18Yeah, I know.
01:17:18I just, um, just remembered to talk about the book
01:17:23and to mention the contest.
01:17:24I can't forget about the contest.
01:17:25OK.
01:17:29Can we be present for a minute?
01:17:32OK, but they're getting ready to call me, so.
01:17:34I know, I know.
01:17:37Do you see where you are right now?
01:17:39This is everything you've ever dreamt of.
01:17:42The TV show, the magazine, the book.
01:17:46You've worked so hard to get here, and look at you.
01:17:52You're miserable.
01:17:56You're missing the one thing you need.
01:17:58What?
01:18:03We're ready for you now.
01:18:05OK.
01:18:05All right, be right out.
01:18:09Meaning, abundance, and peace.
01:18:10Meaning, abundance, and peace.
01:18:14Hey.
01:18:17Meaning, abundance, and being present.
01:18:23I'm ready.
01:18:24This way.
01:18:27Welcome back.
01:18:28As promised before the break, Bethany
01:18:30is going to give us the lowdown on the Oliver family
01:18:33new year, new home makeover.
01:18:35Yeah.
01:18:37Well, they were great.
01:18:38I mean, the Oliver family, they were
01:18:39a real pleasure to get to know.
01:18:41Well, I'm sure you know the question on everyone's minds.
01:18:44Yes.
01:18:45You can find out where to buy all of the furniture
01:18:48and the home on my website, bethanyonthemap.com.
01:18:53That's not it.
01:18:55We all want to know if there's really something
01:18:57going on between you and Grant.
01:18:59Oh, uh, um, no, no.
01:19:04No, there's not.
01:19:06I actually haven't spoken to Grant since the contest.
01:19:10I'm pretty sure you're disappointing
01:19:12a lot of our viewers.
01:19:13Oh, well, how can I make it up to them?
01:19:18Let's take a question from the audience.
01:19:21OK.
01:19:22Oh, the gentleman over there.
01:19:28It's more of a statement, really, than a question.
01:19:31Go right ahead.
01:19:33We're all ears.
01:19:35Bethany, we miss you.
01:19:40I miss you.
01:19:42He said you were going to help turn our house into a home,
01:19:46but it can't be that unless you're around.
01:19:50So I just wanted to know if you were
01:19:53willing to come by for dinner.
01:19:59I'm making pancakes.
01:20:01Well, I don't know.
01:20:02I mean, I've got a very robust schedule, you know?
01:20:08So I think that you would have to ask my assistant.
01:20:13You know she's going to say you should come over.
01:20:16Yep.
01:20:17You're all clear.
01:20:20Then I guess the answer is yes.
01:20:43Hello.
01:20:46Hey.
01:20:47Surprise.
01:20:49Wow.
01:20:51Dad's outside.
01:20:53OK.
01:20:54Did you do all this?
01:20:55I sure did.
01:20:56I read your book.
01:20:58It's really good.
01:21:00Thanks.
01:21:08Hey.
01:21:09Hey.
01:21:10This turned out nice, huh?
01:21:13Couldn't be more perfect.
01:21:17Ah, thank you.
01:21:18Yeah.
01:21:20Bethany, next time we do my room,
01:21:22I think we should paint it turquoise.
01:21:24You got it.
01:21:27OK.
01:21:30Till next time.
01:21:31Till next time.
01:21:49Let's go inside.
01:21:52Thank you.
01:21:53Mm-hmm.
01:21:57Ouch.
