Military customs and traditions involving the three branches of the Malaysian Armed Forces will be an integral part that complements the Installation Ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim as the 17th King of Malaysia on Saturday (July 20).

00:00The installation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, on Saturday
00:06morning will be filled with military customs and traditions.
00:11Commander of the 12th Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Mohamed Fauzi Abu Bakar, said it symbolises
00:17the pledge of loyalty of the defence forces to the King as their Supreme Commander.
00:23He said a total of 377 officers and personnel from the Malaysian Army, Air Force and Navy
00:29will be instrumental in everything, from the task of opening the doors of the Royal Vehicles
00:36to mounting the Main Guard of Honour for the Royal Salute.
00:40He said their duties start at the main gate of Istana Nagara to welcome the arrival of
00:45the King and the Malay rulers, who will be accorded the arms salute.
00:50He said it will be followed by a ceremony where the flags of the rulers will be hoisted
00:55to mark their presence.
00:57He said the regalia group will also be involved in the ceremony, including sovereign escorts,
01:02spear guards and squadron trumpeters of the ceremonial mounted squadron.
01:07He said there will be a 21-gun salute during the ceremony.
01:11Thorough preparations and rehearsal sessions have been carried out diligently over the
01:15past two weeks to ensure a smooth ceremony.
01:19His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim took the oath of office as the 17th King of Malaysia on January 31.
