00:16the Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association, or GaiKindo,

00:20asked the government to provide incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles,

00:33when he met at the 2024 GIIAS Automotive Exhibition on Thursday, July 18.

00:46He said to encourage and boost the number of electric vehicles or EVs,

00:53GaiKindo has offered incentives to the government

00:56through the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Economy,

01:00in the form of two payment assistance schemes.

01:04In fact, incentives for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles will be needed

01:09because the development of hybrid cars in Indonesia is quite large.

01:13So if we look at 2022, about 10,000 hybrid cars will be sold.

01:18In 2023, the number will increase to 55,000.

01:22And we estimate that this number will be above 70,000 hybrid cars.

01:30Previously, the Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang,

01:33has stated that the government has a sales incentive scheme

01:37in the form of a tax on the sale of luxury goods or PPNBM.

01:41This scheme has managed to increase the sales of domestic vehicles by 113%,

01:46or sales increased to 95,000 units in 2023.
