00:04others in the city. This is Sheffield General Cemetery in Sharrow. It is one of
00:11Sheffield's oldest green spaces and opened in 1836 as a burial ground. As
00:18well as boasting much heritage and history, this is a green oasis and a
00:22great place to see wildlife. Here you can see the common crow, blackbirds and
00:28robins and even tree creepers and woodpeckers. If bird watching isn't your
00:33thing, then there's plenty of space to stretch your legs, run around with your
00:37dogs and enjoy the scenery. The cemetery has a large number of listed monuments
00:42and buildings which can be very interesting to look at. Last year marked
00:46the end of a four-year conservation and repair program funded by the National
00:51Lottery Heritage Fund. This means that the cemetery can continue to be
00:55treasured and admired by many future generations. Just look at those gorgeous
01:01flowers. Can you believe that this is in the city centre? These stunning wild
01:11flowers can be found at Pounds Park which opened up only last year. The park
01:16even has its own gorgeous mural which was unveiled earlier this year. It's
01:20believed to be the tallest in Sheffield. This park is something of a sensory
01:25wonderland. There's plenty places for play, socialising and relaxation. The park
01:32forms part of the Heart of the City 2 redevelopment. It's a hugely popular
01:37space for families. Not only does it have a climbing boulder and slides but it
01:43also has a number of water features. From a seesaw that powers water sprinklers to
01:49running rivers with floodgates and plugs to play with, it's a hit for children.
01:54The Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green
01:59spaces. The awards are given annually and help to celebrate the staff and
02:03volunteers that work tirelessly to maintain the free-to-use open spaces.
