00:00Hi, I'm Chris, I'm from Street Angels in York. We came third last year in the Skybet

00:06eBall Festival Community Sweepstake.

00:09So I'm Stephen Hall, I'm the Director of HR for Barnsdale Hospice and we came second

00:14place in the 2023 Skybet eBall Festival Community Sweepstake.

00:19Hi I'm Catherine, I work for Disability Sheffield. I manage Sheffield Voices, which is a learning

00:25disability and autism self-advocacy project and we won first place in the Sky eBall Sweepstake

00:322023 last year.

00:35So one of the biggest things that we do is about supporting the residents of Sheffield

00:41with a learning disability and autism to have a voice about things that are not working

00:45in their lives to make changes in policy and practice.

00:50We do that using drama, as you can see here today, we do art, we do writing and hopefully

00:57changes their lives in terms of the care that they get, in terms of the ability to go and

01:03choose what they want to do in their lives and have their human rights upheld.

01:10It's about being normal and it's not just about that they're in a hospice and all the

01:16things that come with that and the anxiety about that, it's that we try and make them

01:20feel as normal as possible while they're here.

01:24Could be helping people who have lost their way slightly, coming to York for a night out,

01:30helping people who have had maybe a little bit too much to drink, need a bit of water

01:35to rehydrate. Funding is very important, there's been a smallish charity and we do an awful

01:43lot around York, to get a nice lump sum like this was very important to us.

01:50It's meant a lot to the patients that have been involved but also those people who are

01:54closest to them as well, being able to help them celebrate special events and provide

02:01lasting memories has been phenomenal.

02:04Just really lovely to meet other charities and I'm still in contact with a couple of

02:08those charities that we met, so it's great, it's a great networking opportunity, it's

02:14brilliant for your charity to win that money but it's also a great fun event to be part of.
