00:05In this video, let's talk about can you masturbate too much?
00:09Definitely. Yes, indeed.
00:12And then let's break it down.
00:13What are the dangers?
00:15OK, so first and foremost, I want you to know
00:18that if you're masturbating consistently and frequently,
00:22there's a reason healthy men, healthy women
00:27do not feel the need to masturbate every day or multiple times a day.
00:33Can masturbation be healthy in a healthy sex, sex, life and lifestyle?
00:38Yes, but not with the frequency and consistency of two to seven times a week.
00:44If you are masturbating that frequently, it is serving a self soothing need.
00:50We know this.
00:51So what we know from compulsive hypersexuality behavior disorder,
00:56which is a real disorder in the International Classification of Diseases,
01:02that your need to go back for sexual behavior is because your brain
01:07is pulling you back for mood regulation, making you feel OK.
01:13And it has to do with the dopamine that is released in your brain
01:17when you masturbate.
01:19So it becomes a masturbation dependency.
01:22So in every single video, I give a brain tip strategy
01:26to use at the end, and I'm going to share one a couple with you in this one.
01:29But right now, I want you to think about this.
01:33If you're here watching this video, it's because you likely know
01:37that you masturbate a lot and you want to know if that a lot is too much.
01:43So if it's a lot, it's serving a need that's more than just sexual.
01:48That's what I want you to know.
01:50And if you want to know for sure, stop masturbating,
01:53stop masturbating for a week or two and see what happens in your brain.
01:59You will feel it.
02:00I know it from the thousands of people that I work with
02:03that you will feel that pull in your brain, the compulsion,
02:07the compulsive need to go back.
02:10Now, another danger of masturbation is that masturbation
02:15doesn't happen alone.
02:17A healthy masturbation habit is when you stay in touch
02:20with the feelings in your body like a massage.
02:24So if you get a healthy massage, you're feeling your muscles relax.
02:28You're feeling the tension in your body go away,
02:32but you're not anchoring into fantasy
02:35or into euphoric recall of porn, or
02:39you're not consuming pornography at the same time.
02:43So a healthy masturbation habit is one that is rooted
02:47in the feelings in your body.
02:49So another danger is that you're masturbating
02:53to fantasy or to pornography.
02:55And we know from the science that if you are consuming pornography
03:00and that fantasy that goes along with it, in fact,
03:03it is decreasing activity in your frontal lobe
03:07and it is frying out the reward center in the middle of your brain,
03:10which that causes a whole host of problems.
03:15And I'm going to label them for you here just quickly.
03:17The quick and dirty on the majority of them here is that
03:21when your frontal lobe doesn't work well, your thinking,
03:24your cognition decreases.
03:26So your ability to think, remember, focus, feel motivated, go to work.
03:32Your ability to remember things, your ability to plan something
03:37and follow through on it is decreased.
03:40At the same time, social anxiety goes through the roof.
03:44Anxiety in and of itself, health anxiety increases
03:48because your brain is dysregulated neurologically,
03:52meaning that it's using too much fast speed and too much slow speed,
03:56which is what pushes you back for more masturbation.
04:01So it will it will make you feel more depressed.
04:04It will make you feel general malaise or just not feeling well.
04:09It will give you an increase in emotional and mental health issues.
04:13We know this. The science shows this.
04:16It will also give you physical issues like erectile dysfunction.
04:21That happens because the reward center in your brain has become desensitized.
04:26So you need more mental and physical stimulation to become aroused.
04:32That's why you have to go back for more consistent and frequent masturbation.
04:38It's a dependency, a compulsion.
04:41It is not good for you.
04:43So another danger is it will make you go out of your way to masturbate
04:49instead of having sexual relations with your partner.
04:52If you have one or instead of trying to go into the world and find a partner,
04:57you become complacent and content with self soothing through masturbation.
05:04Now, I've heard from too many people, thousands and thousands of people
05:08that what about my prostate?
05:10You know, I'm trying to ward off prostate cancer.
05:13There is a hijacker in your brain.
05:16That's what hypersexuality compulsion is.
05:20It's your brain telling you we need to masturbate again to feel OK.
05:24That hijacker will trick you.
05:28He lies to you.
05:29He tells you that you're masturbating to ward off prostate cancer.
05:34I'm here to tell you that the science on masturbating for prostate cancer
05:40is not conclusive.
05:42There are studies that show that masturbating too much
05:45is unhealthy for your prostate.
05:47There are studies that show there's no conclusions.
05:50If you go to your urologist, many times
05:54they don't know about compulsive hypersexuality behavior disorder.
05:59They don't ask you, do you masturbate a lot?
06:02They don't ask you, do you consume pornography?
06:05So leading to your brain tip, if you have any problems
06:09or you have a fear of prostate cancer, visit your urologist.
06:14But if you do, make sure you tell him or her
06:18that you watch pornography and that you masturbate a lot
06:21because it changes the formula.
06:24Urologists are trained to tell people that if they're having prostate problems,
06:29masturbation is good for you.
06:31But if you masturbate a lot, masturbation is not good for you.
