00:00The tranquil neighbourhood surrounding the vicinity of Jalan Mesraria in Sripetaling,
00:08Kuala Lumpur has been shattered by the constant thunderous roar of modified cars.
00:13Residents living near this road are plagued by the deafening sounds of revving engines
00:18and sporadic explosions from modified exhaust pipes.
00:22The once quiet streets are now transformed into a racetrack almost every night, tormenting
00:27residents and disrupting the surrounding peace.
00:30I actually confronted them once and they seemed quite apologetic, but nothing changed, they
00:37still happened.
00:38I called the police, I called everybody I could call, I reached out to the MP, I emailed
00:42JSPT, I emailed everybody and none of them actually could do anything, apparently.
00:57I think the best would be to do a speed bump, like do some speed bumps here so that they
01:10stop racing every single day, it's very dangerous and also the noise pollution is really bad.
01:15Yong said a group of youngsters in their early 20s congregate daily at a local mamak restaurant
01:21nearby.
01:22Once they are done dining, they will get into their cars and they will then race along
01:27Jalan Mesraria, making repeated trips and revving their engines as they go.
01:33When they do this right, I don't mind if they do it like 10.30, 11 at night, but they cross
01:51the line when they do it like 3 o'clock in the morning.
01:54We really complained to the police, like there was about two weeks, constantly every single
01:59night we've been calling the police, to the point where the JPJ also came to actually
02:02made a roadblock.
02:03But that didn't stop them from stopping, because after that, the next day they just
02:07still do the same thing.
02:08Actually, it's quite effect too many people, you know, feel pressure and then it's not
02:33enough rest and then effect on the next day working, they cannot to wake up so early.
02:38When some child have to go to the school, right, there is a problem, the infection.
02:43As the nights continue to be filled with the roar of engines, the community remains hopeful
02:48that authorities will respond to their grouses and restore the tranquility of their neighbourhood
02:53once again.
