00:00We did get some data recently showing that not that grocery prices are coming down,
00:05but the rate of inflation in grocery prices is slowing a bit.
00:09Where do you see grocery prices going as we head into the second half of the year?
00:14So I am seeing a little bit of a break, but they're up almost 25% in the last four years.
00:21That is deeply impactful for families on a budget, which is most of us, right?
00:27So we have to be very strategic about how we're looking to save.
00:31If you're not doing it already, you should be buying store brands or generics.
00:35Just check the ingredient listing.
00:36Make sure it's the same ingredients from your favorite brand to that store brand.
00:41And many times they're made in the same factory and they're the same products, ultimately.
00:44Use loyalty programs. Buy in bulk, like we talked about.
00:48Look for ways to save online.
00:50Those are all the strategies we should be using to save on those groceries.
00:53And we've noticed some headlines around beef prices being high.
00:59This is like barbecue season.
01:00Yeah.
01:01What kind of tips do you have for the barbecue?
01:05That's a little bit tricky.
01:06I mean, if you've got a sector that's high like that, there aren't that many ways to save.
01:10And I certainly wouldn't say, you know, buy more than you need in bulk
01:14and then store it because then it gets freezer burn.
01:16And so I say kind of mix it up a little bit, you know, buy that your favorite steak
01:21and then maybe look at another meat that's a little bit more budget-friendly.
01:24Maybe poultry is down right now or pork or go vegetarian.
01:28That's a way to kind of balance it out.
01:30So it's not a whole beef party.
01:32You've got a good mix and you're keeping that cost down accordingly.
