The end of extreme heat is in sight, but it comes at the cost of severe thunderstorms.
Transcript
00:00We're gonna head our way into the northeast now, where severe thunderstorms
00:03again abroad hail to Buffalo, New York last night, and we'll continue to see
00:07rounds of thunderstorms in the northeast before we eventually turn a
00:10little quieter and also a little bit cooler. But to not just yet, we're gonna
00:15be talking about the heat yet again here as we venture our way into
00:19Wednesday, and we're gonna be talking about more storms as well. Right along
00:23Interstate 95, that heavily populated corridor D. C. Baltimore Baltimore
00:28today. 103. I saw the number up to 105 in the Inner Harbor again, blowing
00:33away again. Some previous daily records here. Philadelphia 96 for Wednesday,
00:38Boston 91. Notice Detroit, though there's the change on the other side
00:42of the front. It will be a little bit cooler or shall we say more tolerable
00:48here if you're ready for a break from the heat. But look at the area of
00:51severe weather we have in play Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday evening.
00:56If you have any plants here, be weather aware. Make sure they have
00:59multiple ways to receive those alerts. Communication is key when it comes to
01:03severe weather, and we could see flooding downpours hail as well as
01:06damaging wind gusts, especially where you see the moderate risk the two out
01:11of four on the severe weather risk scale. And this implies that we're
01:15gonna see numerous severe thunderstorms quite a bit. It's gonna be another
01:19active afternoon and evening, but the end is in sight with regards to the
01:23heat and the steam and the storms behind our front as we work our way
01:28into Thursday over the interior city, such as Buffalo and Pittsburgh and
01:32Burlington. Absolutely beautiful. Meanwhile, right along the shoreline,
01:36there will still be continuation of some wet weather, especially early on
01:41high temperature wise. Take a look. Detroit 76 Pittsburgh 78. So we're gonna
01:46take a step a couple steps backwards here, perhaps toward the month of May
01:51or perhaps a couple steps forward into the month of September here with
01:56numbers like this and even toward our nation's capital in New York will be
01:59down below the historical average. Further down the road, we go and notice
02:03no significant heat in the cards as we work our way into Thursday as well as
02:08Friday. Lots of eighties on the board here, but no nineties and no triple
02:12digits.
