00:00And of course, good to see those familiar names of the likes of Kazimiro and Rashford on the team sheet as well.
00:08The hard graft for the long campaign ahead starts here. Pre-season is go.
00:13The next few weeks and games will tell us plenty about the season ahead.
00:17As the minutes are put into the legs and the squad starts to take shape.
00:22United begin proceedings in familiar colours but with a brand new look.
00:26So the season may be a little while away but the new threads are being shown off already.
00:31So let's see how they get on.
00:32Yeah, they look very smart I have to say.
00:35I think whoever decides on the design of the kit has done really well in previous seasons and this one's no exception.
00:46Just a reminder from the off that today there are no names on the backs of the Manchester United shirts
00:51and the numbers are for today.
00:53So don't rush out necessarily and buy a shirt with the squad number of the player you can see today
00:59because those numbers are not necessarily the numbers we shall see when the campaign gets underway.
01:05Always important to underline that during pre-season.
01:07Of course, the same will be true during the course of the tour as well and the games played in the coming days and weeks.
01:15We're just having a look at how Manchester United are lining up.
01:19It's not too unfamiliar.
01:22Hannibal a little bit further forward than I anticipated he might be.
01:26Mason Mount just dropping back.
01:29Here go the hosts who would love to make an impression on proceedings nice and early here.
01:35They've got plenty in their locker potentially to trouble this young United side.
01:40Mason Mount with a touch rather penned in.
01:43Clearance only falls to Rosenborg who have plenty forward here looking to cause some damage early on.
01:50He's Brougham who is a tricky winger on the right or the left but starting on the right hand side today.
01:58He's one of those inverted wingers isn't he that loves to cut in.
02:03The early strike which doesn't trouble Radovitek but certainly got United pulses racing.
02:08It will be a corner for Rosenborg within two minutes.
02:11Yeah, I think it is to be expected that Rosenborg would start the quicker.
02:17Wilfish just gets his head in the way of a strike from Nierpant.
02:24We scored a couple of goals this season already.
02:28Was more than happy to take aim.
02:30Wilfish as you say in the way.
02:34Those from the back are forward from the corner from the skipper.
02:40Very nearly a couple of early tests there for Manchester United defensively.
02:44That one sailing over the top.
02:47An out swinging corner.
02:49He just gets the leap on Johnny Evans.
02:51Doesn't manage to get off the ground the Irishman.
02:57Came to nothing in the end from Sida.
03:04Wilson promise early on for the Norwegian side.
03:09Just a reminder of course that as is the case throughout the course of the next few weeks.
03:13MUTV the home of Manchester United's preseason games.
03:16All important to subscribe now to see the games in full including this one.
03:24Johnny Evans for Wilfish.
03:27For Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
03:30Closed down swiftly by Reitensunder.
03:34Another player who can cause problems on the flanks.
03:40Starting on the left-hand side today.
03:43Trying to feed the local lad through the middle.
03:46Ole Sater who is the main goal threat.
03:50Seven goals for the number nine so far this term.
03:53The one they look for the real focal point.
03:58They will be probably disappointed the Rosenborg fans over the last good few years.
04:04It was a time when certainly in the inauguration of the early years of the Champions League.
04:09A little bit like Celtic they were really tough to beat in this stadium.
04:13But just couldn't find points on the road.
04:16They have been one of Norwegian's top sides but not recently.
04:23They won 13 titles in a row.
04:27And as you say performed admirably in the Champions League.
04:30They reached the quarter-finals in the late 90s.
04:34Mason Mount dumped to the ground and Manchester United have the ball again.
04:37It is Mount that is playing alongside Casemiro.
04:41A more deeper role.
04:45Hannibal pushing up alongside Marcus Rashford.
04:51Ethan Williams.
04:55All important minutes will be put in the bank today by these Manchester United players.
05:00Marcus Rashford of course disappointed not to be involved with England over the course of the summer.
05:06But very much raring to go again in red.
05:09It is a great ball.
05:12They have dug their way out of trouble here.
05:14It is Fitek who is going to have to watch it into the gloves.
05:16Any great pressure from those in white.
05:24Chance for Casemiro to restart Manchester United.
05:28Sam Murray as well involved here on the left-hand side today in that left-back role.
05:3319 years of age.
05:3520 in a month or two.
05:38Tenacious character.
05:40Done really, really well in his Manchester United career so far.
05:46He is level.
05:48Time for him to step up now.
05:50Show the manager.
05:53Prove with Kobe Mane there is a pathway.
05:57Mount. Lovely ball.
05:59Looking for the speed of Ethan Williams.
06:03Couldn't quite get there in time.
06:06What a goal threat he was last season for the 18s, 21s and still just 18 years of age.
06:13Yes, he had a marvellous season.
06:15As did the under-18s as a whole.
06:19Terrific campaign.
06:24Mason Mount looking to try and really get into a rhythm in Manchester United colours
06:30after a really tricky campaign last year physically.
06:35Nice turn from Nippon on to Salnes.
06:40Who is the person that everything goes through really in the middle of the park for Rosenberg.
06:45Yes.
06:46He's the pivot there.
06:49That's a mistake which could prove costly.
06:51And a strike which is out via Evans for a corner.
06:55They are lively in these opening exchanges.
06:58Yes, especially down that right-hand side.
07:01They seem to have a cluster of players that favour the left foot.
07:07The body movements are stepping inside.
07:09That's the second shot we've seen from virtually the same distance.
07:13Take a deflection.
07:15A couple of warning signs for United already.
07:22It's a searching corner as well which had to be swiped away by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
07:28He's there again with a more conservative clearance.
07:30Second time round.
07:35Down goes Williams.
07:36He was given a helping hand on the way.
07:43Was it Mason Mount?
07:44I think he was being fouled when he flicked that ball on.
07:52Hannibal had a lot of Sata's shirt there.
07:59Here's Wan-Bissaka.
08:01Couldn't thread it through.
08:05Williams had to slot in to help defensively.
08:12So often the case in matches in the Premier League is that it's Manchester United who have a lot of the ball.
08:18But in a pre-season game against the side already into their rhythm in the campaign, it's quite often the other way.
08:23Yes, it's to be expected.
08:27They're 15 games into their season.
08:29So their levels of fitness are going to be much higher.
08:32It's just about getting minutes into the legs of these Manchester United players without over-exerting too soon.
08:40The risk of injury.
08:43Right-hands ball.
08:44He'll get forward a fair bit on this left-hand side.
08:47Here he is again.
08:4926-year-old.
08:51Fair few in this Rosenborg set-up who have played for Norway through the age groups.
08:57If not always all the way up to the senior level.
09:04Nicely played.
09:05Chance here to stretch the legs again and stretch the United defence.
09:08It was Casemiro who slipped while clearing.
09:11Hannibal didn't get to the ball in time.
09:13And the flag will rise here to stop the Norwegian celebrations.
09:21Yeah, it was quite clearly offside.
09:24The lads have done everything right.
09:25They've pushed out.
09:29It's close.
09:30It's a lot closer than I thought it was, actually.
09:34And depending on which part of the body you're going to go with, maybe that could be argued.
09:39But we'll give the assistant on the far side the benefit of the doubt that she saw what we did.
09:46Monika Løkkeberg with the flag on that side.
09:49Erik ten Haag fresh from his contract extension, of course.
09:52Starting this pre-season campaign with various players back at Carrington.
09:59Going through either individual training programmes or rehab to get over injuries.
10:05To make sure they're really up and running for the start of the new season.
10:09Casemiro managed to thread the ball through towards Rashford, who couldn't quite take it in his stride.
10:16But made sure there was no way out for Leo Koenig.
10:21Yeah, that was an opening.
10:23I think if he had done, he would have got his body across Leo Koenig and there would have been no way back.
10:29You just see he just miscontrolled it.
10:32Maybe he might have been better going with his left foot and pushing it more to the right.
10:37Defender would never have had a chance of getting back to him.
10:41Mount for Casemiro.
10:43Ethan Wheatley trying to take charge of it.
10:46Another one of those who smash the goals in from everywhere really for the youth sides last season.
10:5218 goals for the under-18s in just 14 starts and a couple of appearances off the bench.
10:58Four goals for the under-21s in five starts and six substitute appearances.
11:03Knows where to be and knows what to do when he's there.
11:05Yeah, he certainly does.
11:07I watched him score some wonderful goals last season.
11:12Not only that, but his work rate off the ball as well is something to be admired.
11:16And of course appeared for the first team at the end of last term.
11:21Johnny Evans with a foot in.
11:23Rashford in defensive mode.
11:25Casemiro helps United to get out of a tight corner.
11:30Hannibal suddenly had two on him there.
11:35Yeah, I think that's all the manager and the coaching staff will be looking for is.
11:40You know, getting the feel of the ball and.
11:42You know, trying to get as many passes in as possible.
11:44I mean, you do take positives out of games like this, where your fitness isn't up to the level of the opposition.
11:49Because you can work on your team shape and you can you can work out how you would without the ball, which in this game so far they have for vast quantities.
11:59It won't always be the case, of course.
12:02Because I'm here are stepping in to slow down Rosenborg and Hannibal.
12:05It is who takes a bit of a hit.
12:07From the skipper.
12:10Who's known for his quickness.
12:11He was a youth team player here and played in the first team a bit and then left and then returned.
12:15Yeah.
12:16Yeah.
12:17Yeah.
12:18Yeah.
12:19Yeah.
12:20Yeah.
12:21Yeah.
12:22Yeah.
12:23Yeah.
12:24Yeah.
12:25Yeah.
12:26Yeah.
12:27Yeah.
12:28Yeah.
12:29Yeah.
12:31Yeah.
12:36Yeah.
12:38Yeah.
12:39Yeah.
12:40experienced on the international stage with Norway as well.
12:56Right-hand sender back towards Nemchik.
13:02Now go again with Kornik.
13:11Both sides looking to switch the play when possible.
13:16Wan-Bissaket hoping to see this one out,
13:19managed to get a foot to it too.
13:23We talk about this very much of course from a Manchester United point of view,
13:26but it's worth noting as well that Rosenborg have lost two of their last three games.
13:32They've won the other one in that trio of matches,
13:36so they need to get back on track a little bit.
13:40Players need to show individual form and get together as a unit.
13:46Oh yeah, their coach will be looking for some response as well.
13:50They had a really good start to the season,
13:52but it's fizzled out and they're languishing at the moment.
13:55I think you said 11th, Dave, didn't you?
13:57That's right, out of 16 teams in the top flight.
14:00They're not too far away from the drop zone.
14:04That one will carry all the way out, albeit only for a throw.
14:10Yeah, they had a wonderful start to the season.
14:12They won three of the first four league games,
14:14but have only won two of the 10 since.
14:21That will be on the mind of their coach.
14:25Indeed, I suppose that the hierarchy in general,
14:28the desire to improve is always there.
14:31No matter where you are, what you're playing,
14:33where you're playing.
14:35And the supporters as well.
14:37It's one of the best supported clubs in Norway.
14:42They had the second highest average attendance domestically last season.
14:49Behind Bram.
14:55Such a good strong following, but of course the same can be said
14:58about Manchester United in these parts.
15:00Such a popular team.
15:05Hannibal trying to break through to join Wheatley up top.
15:09This is Williams.
15:11Helped on its way towards Casimiro.
15:15Who kept the defender honest.
15:30Will Fish.
15:32Spent last season on loan at Hibernian.
15:34Was a regular and a real favourite there.
15:36North of the border.
15:42Mount to Rashford.
15:47Lovely bit of skill too.
15:48Just pop it through the legs of Kornik,
15:50who is delighted to be helped out defensively.
15:52Yeah, clever.
15:57Too quick for him.
15:58Too clever.
16:05As a young player, he's relatively young at 23, I suppose.
16:08Although in football terms, that's getting on a bit now, isn't it?
16:12But he'll relish the challenge today,
16:14at least in the first half of taking on Marcus Rashford.
16:17There will be wholesale changes, no doubt, as the game goes on.
16:20With this being a preseason game.
16:22And Manchester United have brought 25 players here to Norway.
16:28Williams' challenge is penalised.
16:59Williams with Njepen.
17:02And Williams gets in the way.
17:04Wheatley trying to help it on.
17:13Brogholme involved as well.
17:16We've seen flashes from those in white on both sides of the field.
17:20No great threat as yet for Radek Vitek.
17:29Hannibal in the way.
17:31But then couldn't quite gather it in from Wheatley.
17:34Those are the sorts of things the manager would be looking at,
17:37especially from the young players.
17:39You see Casemiro.
17:40He's yellow-carded him.
17:45He saw it as an opportunity.
17:47Which you don't really want to see.
17:49Not in a game that doesn't really mean anything.
17:54He was very high, wasn't he, on his right leg?
17:58Watch again as he loses control of the ball.
18:03That's not nice.
18:05Any more weight behind him, and they're leg breakers.
18:09With Casemiro's foot planted, it's a silly tackle.
18:13Totally unnecessary.
18:15Which I think, in perhaps slightly different words,
18:18was what Mason Mount was saying when the challenge was made.
18:23He came across to have a word.
18:25We certainly don't want to see cards in a pre-season game,
18:28but sometimes a yellow card in a pre-season game
18:31is often equal to what you'd see as a red card
18:34in a regular season game.
18:36That one wasn't far away.
18:38No, you don't want to be seeing cards, that is for sure.
18:42I don't think he had much of a choice there, the referee.
18:45Not a good challenge from Nemchik.
18:48Casemiro back up and running.
18:50As the players take on some fluidity,
18:52great to see a little glimpse of a certain Ruud van Nistelrooy,
18:56who is back in Manchester United colours.
18:58There he is again, back at the club as a coach.
19:01That's quite a mouth-watering prospect, really, isn't it,
19:05considering how good he was with the ball on the pitch himself.
19:09He was some player, again,
19:11somebody that I used to admire scoring wonderful goals.
19:17It's a real coup having him back here.
19:19Some of the young players that are out there,
19:22Ethan Wheatley, Williams,
19:26they can learn a hell of a lot from him.
19:31And even for the more seasoned attackers,
19:34it must be something to look forward to,
19:37to work with a technician like that,
19:40the likes of Rasmus Hoyland and Marcus Rashford,
19:42players like that.
19:43Yes, certainly.
19:44Hoyland is one of them.
19:47And, of course, Manchester United have a new man in the midst as well.
19:53Joshua Zerksy, of course, joining the club.
19:58An exciting prospect himself.
20:00A player who's already hitting the heights,
20:02but no doubt will look to get better and better as the years go on.
20:05Only 23.
20:10And a fellow countryman as well.
20:13Sniper.
20:14Well, it's Hannibal who managed to find the space
20:18after the slip let him in.
20:21It was Raitensunder who was all of a sudden down on the ground.
20:28And Erlend Raiten managed to steer it out.
20:36That's a good tackle.
20:39Wan-Bissaka.
20:42Trying to find a way through.
20:44Helped out by Williams,
20:46who just ran out of room.
20:53Such an important part of the under-18s team last season,
20:56as we mentioned,
20:57who won their league comfortably with a golden opportunity.
21:01Managed to win the Premier League Cup as well
21:04and won the national playoff in the league,
21:06beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
21:08The only amazing thing about last season
21:11is that they didn't win the Youth Cup.
21:13Yeah, the Youth Cup ended...
21:15Swindon.
21:16Before it started, really.
21:17I mean, away at Swindon, a 2-0 defeat,
21:19having beaten Derby County by a goal to nil.
21:21And it's just been a fantastic season.
21:23It's just been a fantastic season.
21:25It's just been a fantastic season.
21:27It's just been a fantastic season.
21:29Derby County by a goal to nil.
21:31And certainly with the way that the season continued after that,
21:34you would have expected them to go further.
21:36Cup competitions are funny, aren't they?
21:38No, they are.
21:39And I remember the game
21:40because Derby gave them a really difficult game at Old Trafford.
21:43It was a tough game, a really good game.
21:45And then they went to Swindon and the pitch was terrible.
21:48The weather was poor.
21:49And they just had...
21:51All of them pretty much had an off night on a bad pitch
21:55and conceded two...
21:57I have to say, very good goals scored by...
22:00And I forget his name.
22:01I knew it was the same centre-forward
22:03and they just never recovered from it.
22:05And it was such a shame
22:06because I think they would have gone and taken the clean sweep.
22:10They would have won the whole lot.
22:12It was so exciting to watch.
22:14It's crazy to think in their 24 league games last season,
22:17the under-18s scored 78 goals.
22:19Amazing.
22:22Radek Witek spent last season out on loan.
22:25Acrington Stanley, where he played his football.
22:28And a fair few other youngsters on the sidelines for now,
22:32albeit I'm sure we'll see them in the second half,
22:35would love the opportunity to get some senior football
22:38under their belts in the coming campaign.
22:41Of course they would.
22:42And this is where it all starts.
22:44As I mentioned earlier,
22:46there are plenty of people that we can call upon,
22:49but this is where Kovimeinu started his meteoric rise
22:54last season in a game akin to this.
22:57And look where it ended for him.
23:01Playing in the biggest stage in European football
23:04for his country.
23:10We pass the midway point of the first half.
23:14A couple of early scares for Manchester United,
23:16otherwise both sides settling into the game
23:19without any great threat at either end as yet.
23:25Casemiro's clearance falls for the host.
23:29It's a nice little maze-y run
23:31and the effort blocked by Jonny Evans.
23:35He chose the wrong option for me.
23:38He had players to his right-hand side
23:40and elected to shoot himself when the shot wasn't really on.
23:45There have been a few spells like this, though,
23:47where United struggle to get the ball away.
23:49Keeps on coming back at them.
23:51Fish wins the header.
23:53Hannibal trying to be delicate with his placement.
24:05Salnes with a nice touch.
24:07Fish emphatically getting it clear.
24:13Just starting to pen Manchester United back again here.
24:19Salnes can't thread it through Hannibal.
24:22Casemiro had company, which he wasn't aware of.
24:27You can just see that's where the Norwegian side...
24:31Hang on a minute.
24:34...ball over, which is dealt with by Williams.
24:37Wheatley will try and shield it.
24:39Brings Williams into play.
24:41Wrighton was desperately trying to stop the counter-attack.
24:45That's where they're demonstrating the fitness,
24:47where United are still finding the legs.
24:50It's the very first game.
24:52They have been a little bit sloppy with the ball,
24:54but also the Norwegians have been very quick to recover it.
25:03That was one of those classic
25:05thou shalt not pass defensive moments.
25:09He had some grass to run into as well, didn't he?
25:12Well, again, if that is a regular season game,
25:15you're probably seeing a yellow card there.
25:18Of course, hot on the heels of the Euros and the Copa America,
25:20it's difficult to switch into pre-season mode, perhaps.
25:27Some really mouth-watering games ahead in the next few weeks
25:30before the season gets underway.
25:34Manchester United taking on Rangers at Murrayfield,
25:38then heading out to the States, to Los Angeles,
25:41to take on Arsenal.
25:43Real Betis, the opponents in San Diego,
25:45and then South Carolina will host Manchester United
25:47against Liverpool, before the Community Shield, of course.
25:51And then the Premier League season gets underway,
25:53Adolphe Trafford against Fulham.
25:57And all the games on Tour 2024, live here on MUTV.
26:04Yeah, it's not a bad pre-season for them, is it?
26:07Playing the top three in the Premier League.
26:12That's the sort of test you want before you go into a campaign.
26:18And I know that they say that results don't mean anything,
26:21and to a certain extent, they don't.
26:23But what it does do, if you can get onto a little bit
26:26of a winning trail before you go into your first game
26:30against Fulham, then it just makes you feel better.
26:36That you've had a decent pre-season under your belt
26:38and you've beaten some very good sides.
26:41And that's your mindset then for the first game against Fulham.
26:46Which, incidentally, was one of the best goals I saw
26:49Ruud van Nistelrooy score at Old Trafford,
26:51was against Fulham.
26:52Absolute classic, yeah.
26:55I'm sure that's replayed in his mind a few times
26:57in the last couple of weeks.
27:01Rosenborg on the attack.
27:02It's a decent-placed effort.
27:04And the post saves Manchester United there.
27:06Radek Vitek at full stretch.
27:10Danny Evans away to Marcus Rashford,
27:12who will lead the charge away from goal.
27:15Did he get a touch on that, Radek Vitek?
27:19I thought he did get a little bit of a touch.
27:21There you go, there's your booking.
27:26That you thought should have been given for Ethan Wheatley.
27:30It was a bit of a conga, wasn't it?
27:32Yeah.
27:33Two-man conga by Broholm on Rashford.
27:35This, the effort, though.
27:40Difficult to tell, isn't it, from that angle,
27:42whether he did get a fingertip on it.
27:44Maybe he didn't.
27:47Maybe he didn't.
27:48He was just unlucky from the striker.
27:55Well, they've certainly come close, haven't they?
27:57They've hit the post, they've put one over the bar,
27:59they've had a few decent efforts blocked.
28:02Here's Mason Mount.
28:04Tag set, just got a hold of him,
28:06which has taken him down.
28:07Looks in some pain,
28:09as Rashford tries to pick up the baton.
28:14One back by Broholm.
28:16He does well.
28:17He's been lively.
28:19All their efforts have been pretty similar, haven't they?
28:23Right-hand side cutting in onto a left foot.
28:31Now, what can they do here?
28:33Rosenborg trying to overload
28:36on that right-hand side.
28:38Koenig with the ball back,
28:40in towards the danger man.
28:44I say he's the danger man in terms of getting goals,
28:46although we've not seen too much of him in the game thus far.
28:51Great position from Jonny Evans, though.
28:53Experience for you.
28:59Marcus Rashford wins a free kick.
29:02That's the way to go.
29:12Some of these challenges, though,
29:14underlines why managers want to play games
29:16against teams who have already started their season.
29:18They want that competitive edge,
29:20which if you play against another team
29:22who have only just come back into training,
29:24you don't necessarily get,
29:26albeit you don't want injuries.
29:28No, I totally appreciate that.
29:30I mean, it's a good place to come.
29:32It's a good place to come,
29:34but it's a good place to come
29:36if the team doesn't move on.
29:38That's probably why coming to Scandinavia
29:40at this time of the year,
29:42it's always a good place to come anyway,
29:44I would say, for Premier League teams
29:46because of the physical nature
29:48and the fitness levels
29:50of Scandinavian teams in general.
29:52But certainly when they're in the middle of their season
29:55or 14, 15 games in,
29:57you are going to see a difference in fitness,
29:59so a lot of that quality is going to be there.
30:03Tags it.
30:05He's popped up with a few goals this season,
30:07three to his name already.
30:09The other player who's stood out over on that side,
30:12Marius Braeum,
30:14has five.
30:16You can see why the way he plays.
30:19Juan Besacet
30:21was very calm.
30:23I'm not sure he totally knew
30:25his man was right there.
30:27He always looked calm.
30:29They are dictating the pace of the game, which is what Manchester United want.
30:36If you were playing a team that was on a similar level, it would be more like a testimonial.
30:41And that's not what you want. You want the opposition levels to increase,
30:47which is happening, obviously, as we go on in pre-season,
30:50and your own stamina levels. And that's what they're working their way to.
30:55And that's what Eric Ten Haag was urging the young players to do, wasn't it,
30:58when he was talking to Mark and Ronnie earlier on pitch side?
31:02Urging them to keep the tempo high, to take the opportunity here,
31:06to show the crowd here, and indeed, obviously, he and his coaching staff,
31:11what they can do.
31:26And in some cases, these head coaches as well will be wanting 90 minutes of effort
31:32out of their side in potentially 45 minutes or 60,
31:35depending on how many changes they want to make.
31:37In from Wheatley, and in the end, tidied up.
31:43You wondered for a moment where that contact was going from Mikel Cede.
31:48Great ball in, though. Dangerous ball in from Ethan Wheatley.
31:53That's a lovely ball, isn't it?
31:56Looking to take on Jonny Evans and trying to surprise Vitek at the same time.
32:02One of those wide players who look so comfortable drifting in with the ball at his feet.
32:06Yeah, that's the best move. It's a lovely ball outside of his foot.
32:09Well taken as well by Wright and Sunday.
32:14It wasn't a great strike. He chose the wrong option.
32:19Should really have set it outside the far post, but...
32:24Jonny Evans was in his way and he panicked.
32:28Their attacking numbers do compare favourably with most of the teams in their division.
32:33It's the problems at the other end. Only one team has conceded more goals
32:38in the Norwegian top flight.
32:42So these attacking players who have caused some issues in this first half,
32:46for those in red, just will want the players behind them
32:51and indeed the unit as a whole to tighten up a bit.
33:03Wrighton's ball forward. Spotted by Evans. Fish trying to get there first.
33:07He's beaten to it, though, and they've got a man over here.
33:10And Vitek was called into action.
33:13Tagset thought about the shot. Brohan took it on.
33:17And on they go again. Kornik, a loaded penalty area.
33:20And Vitek stops an own goal.
33:23And there was plenty going on in that Manchester United box for a moment there.
33:26Yeah, he does really well, Radik Vitek.
33:29Does really well.
33:32He's been lively, Wright and Sunday, and then Tagset just knocks it out.
33:37Vitek, the keeper, gets it out.
33:40And Wan-Bissaka did well as well.
33:43He spotted the danger and tried to get back in behind him.
33:46And then good movement down that right hand side.
33:49He saves another one.
33:52Soundless for the ball over.
33:55Vitek urges his players to get out.
33:59One of those crosses that just hit fish and then hit Vitek, didn't it?
34:04It could have gone anywhere at any point there.
34:06It could.
34:08I think you'd expect from the angle that Kornik was at as well
34:12and how close he was in to really pick somebody out.
34:18A nothing ball in the end.
34:20Here's the first save.
34:32On towards Mount who had two to tangle with.
34:37Soundless.
34:39Casemiro in the way.
34:42He's trying to release Rashford.
34:47Both sides wanted a free kick there.
34:49Referee says just get on with it.
34:51Definitely not either way.
34:55Right decision for me.
34:59Evans outmuscling Kornik.
35:06We've got 10 minutes of this first half to go.
35:17Evans and Murray together.
35:21He's got the ball.
35:24He takes it quickly into the challenge.
35:31He wasn't on the books at Anfield.
35:34Didn't play for the first team.
35:36He was in the youth ranks.
35:37He's only 23 now.
35:39Having left Liverpool four years ago.
35:45He's definitely easy to spot on a football field.
35:48I'm only jealous, Dave.
35:50I was going to say you wouldn't believe me if I said I had hair like that one day.
35:57Not quite like that.
35:58Close.
36:00Anyway.
36:01Moving swiftly on.
36:03Mambosaket.
36:05It's his throw in.
36:08Not everyone agreed with that call.
36:21Williams.
36:23Had to swivel away from two opponents.
36:26No way through towards Wheatley.
36:29All of a sudden the space opens up again.
36:326v3 here.
36:36Corner.
36:37Tag set is hovering.
36:41Trying to turn away from Murray.
36:44Right hand centre looking to float it in.
36:48Evans in the way again.
36:49Some crucial blocks in the first half.
36:51The flag will go up to stop them on that occasion.
36:57They do play very, very quickly and efficiently out from the back.
37:03All of a sudden they had numbers and at one point they were 6v3.
37:07United did get defenders back.
37:09They certainly didn't make as much as they should have done,
37:12really.
37:13Rosenborg.
37:16I'll tell you what.
37:18Thomas Nemcic.
37:20Having made that challenge on Casemiro.
37:23Thundered into Hannibal there.
37:26Once again we mention the word pre-season.
37:30It's a tough one.
37:32It's a tough one to see that.
37:35Referees perhaps think and how you look at refereeing decisions.
37:39But if that's full of my home at Old Trafford on the opening
37:42weekend of the Premier League season,
37:43you're screaming for a second yellow.
37:45Definitely.
37:46Yeah.
37:48Arguably the first one might have been more than a yellow
37:51anyway.
37:52The first one was quite cynical.
37:54That one for me was just just a tad clumsy.
37:58Yeah.
37:59I mean,
38:00it's a tough one to play in the middle,
38:02though,
38:03so Williams just had to wait for those to gather in the centre.
38:13Let's be honest.
38:15No manager or head coach wants to see an opponent get sent off
38:18in a preseason friendly anyway,
38:19because you want to play against 11 players,
38:21don't you?
38:22It's the whole sort of point of this is to have the physical
38:25test,
38:26but it's also to have the mental test.
38:28It's not only that,
38:29but I have a funny feeling that even if you're sent off in a
38:32friendly,
38:33you know,
38:34they're right in the middle of their campaign that could have a
38:37bearing on it.
38:38It depends on various factors,
38:40but he certainly has to be a little careful.
38:42Yeah.
38:43And the chances are,
38:44he's not going to appear for the second half.
38:46Anyway,
38:47here's Wheatley who takes on the strike himself.
38:50Ethan Williams wondered if the pass was going to come his way,
38:54Yeah.
38:55Worked really hard to get that.
38:57And maybe if he'd have got his head up,
39:00you can't really argue with him having a strike from there.
39:03It's probably the,
39:04it's the first opportunity that United have really had on goal.
39:07But if he'd have got his head up,
39:09he would have seen that Ethan Williams was in a better position
39:12had he had just slid that ball across for him into the space.
39:16First real job for Sander Tangvik in the Rosenborg goal.
39:23He is the regular number one 15 starts for him this season.
39:35Rasmus Sandberg is the substitute goalkeeper for the host today.
39:41Fishes after this one.
39:43Just couldn't quite direct it into the area,
39:46which was going to cause trouble.
39:48No,
39:49he was under pressure.
39:50Wasn't he?
39:51He was being backed into,
39:52which you'd understand from the defender.
39:54Just couldn't generate any power.
40:01I've never been a fan of a deep corner anyway,
40:03I have to say.
40:14Hannibal giving chase.
40:16Mount.
40:17Effectively into the tackle there,
40:19winning it back.
40:20Casimiro lays it on.
40:22Rashford fancied it.
40:27Just managed to get enough bodies in the way.
40:35They do do that quite nicely.
40:38They do move the ball out of defence and it's not aimless.
40:42They keep possession three or four times.
40:44They've gone on the attack with some quite nice football and some
40:48accurate passing.
40:50Well,
40:51Alfred Johansson,
40:52the head coach of Rosenborg wants them to play in that way.
40:55He wants them to play attractive football.
41:00Means they're not always the tightest at the back,
41:02but they're easy on the eye going forward and very nearly into a
41:06one goal lead.
41:08And not for the first time,
41:09it's throw hole who's on the end of the attack.
41:14They might still have a goal here.
41:15VTEC puts up the shutters and manages to pounce on the ball and
41:19somehow it's still nil nil.
41:21It is.
41:24I thought there was a foul on Johnny Evans in the build up to
41:27that second attack,
41:29but the first one take nothing away again.
41:32Some terrific passing from Rosenborg.
41:35And you would have expected.
41:40Yes,
41:41bro home to have done a bit better when he just was confronted
41:44with Radic VTEC and he smashes it against the bar.
41:47I think he had plenty of other options.
41:51Rather than just a snatch at it.
41:53United survive.
41:58We're closing in on halftime here.
42:12Marcus Rashford just popping in a little more centrally.
42:15The last few minutes.
42:18But the balls at the other end.
42:22From sell this with a couple to aim at.
42:30I think they have struggled to deal a little bit with the with
42:33how compact that.
42:35The Rosenberg front six are.
42:38And.
42:39They're finding gaps all over the field.
42:43We said that some of the passing has been really good as we see
42:46the second chance here.
42:48It's a really good save.
42:49The first one.
42:51And then sat there just can't generate any power.
42:54That's the one where I felt.
42:56Home should have done better.
43:02Good save.
43:03Really good save.
43:07Of course, these.
43:09Young players involved in my.
43:10Include run every tech in that.
43:12As a.
43:13Goalkeeper at 20 years of age.
43:16I want to play.
43:17With that Manchester United badge on their chest, but.
43:21Good performances in games like this might lead to a.
43:24Move elsewhere, either temporarily or perhaps a new
43:26start.
43:30The defense might be calling to action again here.
43:33Panic stations a little bit here.
43:35And VTEC again.
43:37Make sure that the threat is quelled.
43:40But the hosts are enjoying themselves as halftime
43:42approaches. Yeah.
43:45Yeah.
43:48They do counter attack really well, and they seem to have an
43:51extra man on the pitch every time they do it.
43:53I wasn't sure.
43:55The knife.
43:56Pam was going to run out of grass there before he crossed
43:58it, but it was a really good ball in the end.
44:01He finds pro home at the back post.
44:03Another good safe from VTEC, who can be really pleased with
44:06that.
44:13Last minute of the 1st 45.
44:26He will be pondering what he's seen in the 1st half and also
44:42pondering changes potentially for the second.
44:44Yeah, I think there will be changes.
44:46I don't think he's going to be.
44:49I don't think he's going to be.
44:52Too desperately disappointed.
44:54About the way it's gone.
44:55They haven't conceded.
44:56Yes, they might have rolled the look a couple of times.
44:59But.
45:00I think what will be.
45:02Something he will look to improve on.
45:04Is there is the sloppiness with some of the passing.
45:09It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:16It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:18It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:20It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:21It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:22It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:23It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:24It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:25It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:26It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:27It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:28It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:29It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:30It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:31It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:32It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:33It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:34It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:35It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:37It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:38It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:39It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:40It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:41It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:42It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:43It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:44It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:45It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:46It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:47It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:48It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:49It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:50It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:51It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:52It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:53It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:54It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:56It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:57It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:58It will make things a lot easier for them.
45:59It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:00It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:01It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:02It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:03It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:04It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:05It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:06It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:07It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:08It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:09It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:10It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:11It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:12It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:13It will make things a lot easier for them.
46:14It will make things a lot easier for them.
