00:00So, Gabriel Attal, the French prime minister, his resignation has now been accepted by the
00:05president, but he's not going anywhere because Gabriel Attal is going to remain in post after
00:10his resignation because he will head up a new caretaker government in France. This is
00:15to ensure political stability for the period throughout the rest of July and for the Olympics,
00:21so lasting until the middle of August. When the eyes of the world turn next Wednesday
00:25to France, the government does not want to see the eyes of the world seeing political
00:28instability, and so a caretaker government will remain in place for now. It also gives
00:34more time and space for discussions to be had by all the parties to try to agree on
00:39a new majority government, on a new coalition government, and it gives time and space for
00:44the left, who are the biggest bloc in the new parliament, to try to agree on a name
00:48to put forward to be the new prime minister.
