00:00Good evening Kapuso! I am your Kuya Kim who will give you the trivia behind the trending news.
00:09In Indonesia, the oldest cave painting in the world was discovered.
00:14How old is this and what story does it have in our history?
00:19This cave painting was discovered in Leyang Karampuang Limestone Cave in Sulawesi, Indonesia in 2017.
00:25It is a picture of a pig that is surrounded by three people.
00:28It is simple at first glance, but according to a study that was published in the Scientific Journal of Nature,
00:33the cave painting is considered to be the oldest artwork in history.
00:37In the research done, it was discovered that the image is not less than 51,200 years old.
00:43Their brain capacity is too wide to understand what is happening in their surroundings.
00:50And here in the Philippines, what is the oldest cave painting?
00:56The oldest artwork in the Philippines can be found in the province of Rizal, the Angono-Binangonan Petroglyphs.
01:02Petroglyphs are called in the ancient painting carved in stone.
01:05The rock art in the border of Angono and Binangonan discovered by the national artist Carlos Botong Francisco
01:11is composed of 179 carvings of the image of man and animal and is believed to have been carved in 3000 BC.
01:17Our ancestors were rich in culture.
01:21Clearly, our ancestors were intelligent.
01:24There is another rock art in the country that is also thousands of years old.
01:28What is it?
01:32This cave drawing was made by a man who was discovered in the town of Peñablanca in Cagaya in the 1970s.
01:39After careful study, it was discovered in 2021 that the age of Cagayan cave art is 3,500 years old.
01:48The mystery now is who or where the group originated from.
01:53Meanwhile, to find out the trivia behind the viral news, just tweet or comment
01:56Hashtag Kuya Kim, what's next?
01:58Always remember, the important thing is to know.
02:01I am Kuya Kim and I will answer you 24 hours.
02:06Some government agencies expressed their support for the banning of Pogo.
02:14This is a serious national concern of the National Security Council.
02:21Tina Panganiban-Ferre pointed out.
02:27For the NSC, Pogo is a very serious national concern.
02:31We have seen the extent of criminal activities being conducted in some of the IGLs and Pogo facilities,
02:39particularly human trafficking, cyber fraud, prostitution, etc.
02:47which to us has become a very serious national concern.
02:52All the red flags are already there.
02:54In a hearing of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means,
02:57the government agencies expressed their support for the banning of Pogo.
03:03According to the Department of Finance, more than Php 180 billion was lost to the country in a year
03:09due to the negative image of Pogo.
03:11This is more than the benefit of Php 167 billion.
03:17We have, for instance, the foregone investment due to crime.
03:21We also have foregone revenues from tourism
03:25because basically because of that negative picture of having Pogo activities in the Philippines
03:38may, in fact, affect the tourism industry.
03:42In another open letter, some groups called on President Bongbong Marcos
03:47to order the PAG Corps to cancel all Pogo licenses that are issued by China.
03:54Any type of gambling in China is illegal.
03:57This is against the regulations of the PAG Corps
04:00that prohibits any gaming websites in the Philippines from accessing any country that prohibits gambling.
04:07Somebody is making a lot of money, but we've got to stop it.
04:11We have fooled ourselves.
04:13And if you are the president, this is the moment,
04:16this is the specific circumstance that the president should step in.
04:21Because the people below, the PAG Corps is under the office of the president.
04:25He has to stop it.
04:27For GMA Integrated News, Tina Panganiban Perez,
04:3224 Hours.
04:37The death of the character of Paco Palacios in The Widow's War is being predicted and won in the ratings.
04:45Rafael Rosel, who plays him, is overwhelmed with a lot of praise and good feedback in the series.
04:50Let's talk to Aubrey Catampel.
04:52After talking about the death scene of Rafael Rosel as Paco Palacios in the murder mystery drama The Widow's War,
05:07an investigation has begun as to who the killer is.
05:11At this point, everybody is a suspect.
05:16Rafael was moved to tears when he read the comments about his birth and the GMA Prime series.
05:22We are all overwhelmed with praise and good feedback.
05:29We're just motivated to do even better.
05:31Personally, in the reviews of my birth as Paco Palacios,
05:35I'm just more thankful and even more grateful than ever.
05:40People appreciated it.
05:42The netizens are now wondering who the killer is.
05:47Galvan, played by Tonton Gutierrez, is leading the poll of possible suspects.
05:53Jeric Gonzalez, played by Bea Alonzo, is one of the suspects.
06:01He's in trouble because he wants to protect his sister and family.
06:07He's the one who's going to protect all of Sam's enemies and all of the threats.
06:14He has a lot of secrets, especially Doc Orly, our father.
06:20Jeric is happy that Bea is working again.
06:23She was the first one to join StartupPH.
06:26She's very professional. She's very good.
06:29Personally, I'm still a fanboy.
06:35Jeric is busy with taping.
06:38It's rare for him to see his girlfriend, Rabia Mateo.
06:41But their relationship is going strong.
06:44Rabia is very understanding.
06:46She's happy with what's happening to me.
06:49Even though I'm taping every day, I don't have time.
06:53She understands me.
06:54He wishes to have a crossover with Rabia's character, Tasha from Royal Blood.
07:01Watch out, because there's going to be a crossover.
07:04In our last taping, we were with an artist from Royal Blood.
07:09Aubrey Carampel, updated to showbiz happening.
07:14Kylie Padilla challenged him to talk about the real status of his love life in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
07:23Single or ready to mingle?
07:30Taken?
07:34Kylie's partner is non-showbiz.
07:37She's happy because she's going to show her authentic self.
07:40Her showbiz and non-showbiz life is now balanced.
07:44Kylie's current partner is the one she was with on her Japan trip last April.
07:49She learned from their relationship.
07:55It taught me to just trust myself more.
07:58And not be too scared to be myself.
08:03Representative Franz Castro and Satoru Ocampo will appear in the Court of Appeals.
08:08They will be held guilty by the Tagom RTC.
08:11This is the result of their involvement in a Solidarity Mission for Lumad.
08:18June Fenerasyon will be the judge.
08:22I'm not ready to be jailed because I know that we are in the right direction.
08:30Act Teacher's Party List Representative Franz Castro will appear in the Court of Appeals.
08:34He will be held guilty by the Tagom RTC against him, Satoru Ocampo and 11 others.
08:40This is the result of their involvement in the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
08:48This is the result of their involvement in a Solidarity Mission for Lumad in Davao del Norte in 2018.
08:56They plan to appeal the decision in the Court of Appeals,
08:59including the sentence of four to six years in prison and a fine of P10,000 for civil indemnity and P10,000 for moral damages to each of the 14 minors.
09:11Our appeal to the Court is for this situation to be reversed.
09:17The case was dismissed after the schools of Lumad were closed in Talaingod, Davao del Norte,
09:24which is believed to be the breeding ground of the rebels.
09:27The Solidarity Mission was joined by the group led by Castro and Ocampo to help the students and teachers of Lumad.
09:34According to the court, there is a record that their teachers brought the children in the dark to an unrescued road
09:41and they walked for three hours for the so-called mission.
09:45The court said that they could have been shot by the military or rebels there.
09:50They could also have been attacked by animals there,
09:53either fallen from a cliff or slipped on a slippery road.
09:56It was raining then, so the children were wet, shivering and hungry.
10:01That's why the minors were put in danger.
10:04Then, the children of the group led by Ocampo and Castro were taken in a van as part of the Solidarity Mission.
10:11According to Ocampo, they were told by the court that they still have a visa of P80,000 until their appeal in the case is resolved.
10:20If there is an attempt to arrest us, they have no basis.
10:25We are free.
10:26And we will use that freedom to fight this case,
10:31to fight for the rights of our children and our poor citizens.
10:38How many Lumad are with Castro and Ocampo facing the media?
10:42We are very angry because Ocampo and Castro are not the ones who bombarded our communities.
10:48Franz Castro is not the one who is harassing us.
10:51They are the ones who are helping us.
10:54But according to the military, there are hundreds of people who are protesting for the court in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
11:02For GMA Integrated News, June Veneracion, 24 Hours.
11:08The Finance Department of the Bureau of Treasury re-imposed almost P60 billion in funds not used by PhilHealth to be used for unprogrammed appropriations.
11:17The question of some groups is, why not lower the price of PhilHealth or increase the benefit?
11:23Marie Zumali learned the lesson.
11:28To the many patients who rely on the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth for their treatment,
11:34it came out that the agency has a huge amount of funds that amount to P89.9 billion,
11:40money that was not used from the government subsidy.
11:44This fund was re-imposed by the Department of Finance to the Bureau of Treasury
11:48under the visa issued by the Department Circular 003-2024.
11:53This is in accordance with the General Appropriations Act for 2024
11:57to fund unprogrammed appropriations or projects that are already approved but not yet determined where the money will be collected for these.
12:05It was led by some health reform and anti-corruption advocates and budget analysts.
12:10The Universal Health Care Act was violated.
12:12If there is an excess, the premium should be lowered and the benefits should be expired.
12:19You cannot put it anywhere.
12:24What they are doing now is wrong.
12:26It's very disappointing because what they will get from the fund is the subsidy,
12:31which is supposed to cover the premium of our countrymen who are poor.
12:38In May, PhilHealth remitted the first tranche of P20 billion.
12:42The remaining amount was set aside until May 2025.
12:46It's sad to think that there are a lot of poor Filipinos who are saving to pay their premium.
12:57Then you will find out that there are excess funds of P90 billion.
13:02Then they will put it in the unprogrammed funds or appropriations of our legislators.
13:09Where is your heart?
13:11The group led by Dr. Lea Chon and Prof. Magno filed a case in the Supreme Court this week
13:18to question the constitutionality of this act by the Department of Finance.
13:23According to PhilHealth, they are just obeying the law.
13:26They are not lacking in services to all of its members.
13:30This is in accordance with the General Appropriations Act of 2024.
13:35The transfer will never be affected.
13:39This is our operation.
13:41Our payment of claims will not be affected.
13:45The benefits that the members will avail will not be affected.
13:51The excess funds did not come from the contribution of the members but from the subsidy of the government.
13:56In a statement, the Department of Finance said that the use of sleeping funds is more practical
14:01than lending or adding taxes.
14:04For GMA Integrated News, Maris Umali for Tutok, 24 Hours.
14:10It's only two weeks before the new year.
14:13That's why a lot of people are rushing to buy things and cheap uniforms.
14:18Aside from Divisoria, those who are buying should also go to Market Road in Taytay, Rizal.
14:26There are people who went there to buy uniforms for P150 to P300.
14:32The price of some school supplies did not fluctuate.
14:36The Maharlika Investment Fund is expected to be used before the end of the year.
14:41According to the CEO of Maharlika Investment Corporation, Rafael Consing Jr.,
14:46the Maharlika Investment Fund will focus on the infrastructure for energy,
14:51particularly the small power utility groups and power co-ops that are not connected to the grid.
14:57That is to lower the current, especially in remote areas and have rural development.
15:03The MIF will also invest in digital infrastructure, especially in remote and poor areas,
15:09as well as in healthcare by giving funds to hospitals and clinics, to LGUs.
15:15Maharlika Investment Corporation board members from the private sector will also participate.
15:21It will be under the audit of the co-op and the external auditor.
15:24It will also be held in Congress every six months.
15:29In the upcoming election, it is expected that there will be traffic jams in places near schools.
15:36That's why the MNDA is still considering operations against those who are in the way of the road.
15:41Raffy Tima is on the line.
15:45A few weeks before the election, the MNDA continued its operations to make the main roads in Metro Manila wider.
15:55The MNDA's special operations group has been operating all day in various places in Manila and Quezon City.
16:00The MNDA has been noticed.
16:02Before, we were operating, we were not in a good condition, especially in Kapulong.
16:08Earlier this morning, in fairness to it, it was wide.
16:11Although, there were a few.
16:13There was a truck that was stuck on a hill.
16:16There were a few motorcycles.
16:17But aside from that, in fairness to the improvement, it was a good improvement.
16:22The MNDA said that it will continue to monitor schools, which is usually the cause of traffic jams.
16:30Definitely, we'll be working it out.
16:33We'll be coming up with a, for sure, we'll have a dialogue, especially in the larger colleges.
16:39The MNDA also said that it will pay attention to unfinished road construction projects.
16:44In the Chinorosas Avenue extension, which runs through Taguig and Makati,
16:49it was noticed that there was a wide range of vehicles.
16:52Just like there was a shortage of traffic in the past few days.
16:55One of the places that is causing traffic is the Road Widening Project of the Business Conversion and Development Authority or BCDA.
17:02Pedestrians will not be able to use the sidewalks and will have to cross to the other side of the road.
17:07In a statement, the BCDA promised that their Road Widening and Sidewalk Improvement Project will be completed in the second quarter of 2025.
17:15As of now, sidewalks on the right side of the road towards Taguig are in good condition.
17:20There are also signages for pedestrians, while the left sidewalk of the new Senate Building is being repaired.
17:28For GMA Integrated News, Rafi Tima for 24 Hours.
