00:00Today I have a sad and sorry message to share with everyone.
00:18Today I have decided to step down as a head coach of the Malaysian national team due to
00:31my personal commitment.
00:35I apologize for any disappointment this may have caused everyone.
00:49Since I arrived in February 2022, for the first two and a half years, the people of
01:00Malaysia had really gifted me a really incredible and beautiful journey in my life.
01:11In June 2022, we together shared the joy of Malaysia qualifying for the Asian Cup for
01:23the first time in 23 years.
01:27And since then, we have risen to the 130th in the FIFA rankings, and in the last Asian
01:38Cup finals, we drew 3-3 with the world ranking 22nd team, the Republic of Korea, showing
01:52the pride Malaysians should have of their football.
02:03Unfortunately, we did not qualify for the final stage of the World Cup qualification,
02:12but with three wins and one draw, two losses, and we got 10 points.
02:20We have provided the foundation and momentum to instill hope for the bright future of Malaysian
02:31football.
02:32I am very thankful to everyone who has supported me and the national team with all my heart.
02:45My hope is that the FAM, the government, and all Malaysians will continue to give the
02:55national team their support and encouragement to achieve the next goal of qualifying for
03:06the Asian Cup for the second consecutive time.
03:12For the rest of my life, I will always remember the white blue skies of Malaysia, the crowded
03:26and trees, the friendly, lovely, polite Malaysian peoples, the taste of prawn meat, and the
03:36smell of durian, all which I love.
03:42Now, as a half-Malaysian, I will always support the Malaysian national team and be proud of
03:57Malaysia everywhere I go.
04:00We understand your decision, but at the last press conference, you seemed so enthusiastic
04:07to help Malaysia, to change the face of Harimau Malaya.
04:13What happened actually, coach?
04:14What's the reason that bring today?
04:23Same answer.
04:24I talked to Dr. President, every single thing that I cannot talk to you, here, very dangerous.
04:37He knows all the details, so that we must honor each other.
04:42I spoke to him, every single thing, deeply, not only one time.
04:47He refused, he cannot accept.
04:50Second time I go there, he cannot accept, he refused, asked me to slow down.
04:56Third time, fourth time, so finally I convinced him.
05:00Four weeks ago, we start.
05:04After that, we decide we cannot go to qualify.
