00:00Well, let's start with Everton and looking at one of their key players, Amadou Onana.
00:04Obviously, we've mentioned he's been away with Belgium, said he was unsure of his future
00:09or he wanted to maybe move on. What sort of latest can you tell us about his future and
00:15how much of a good deal it could be for Everton if he is to move on?
00:19Yes, so it looks like Aston Villa have come in for Onana for a great £50 million. I think
00:27you can look at it two ways really. You can either look at it thinking, should Everton
00:31be getting maybe a little bit more for Amadou Onana just because of what the market rate
00:36is maybe on central midfields. In the past couple of years, I mean, you only look at
00:41say last summer, Romeo Lavia went to Chelsea for, what, £58 million. And obviously, Moyes
00:50Cassez went for British records and then obviously ends up with Fernandes and there's been other
00:54big fees paid out in recent seasons. Declan Rice, another one, went for £105 million.
01:01So yeah, even a couple of years ago, Calvin Phillips to Man City was £40-odd million
01:07and Amadou Onana has very much got his best years ahead of him. So we can see why fans
01:14are a little bit, maybe a little bit, irked by that. But if you were going to sell one
01:19of them, probably maybe Everton need another sales to raise funds, reinvest in the squads.
01:27And if you're looking at the players, it was Abbott probably out of four who realistically
01:32could do that. Joan Pickwood was going nowhere anyway. He's happy at Everton. Jared Bramfoyce,
01:37Everton have rebuffed all offers for him from Manchester United. Dominic Calvert-Lewin,
01:44he's only got a year left on his deal. So you can understand why some fans say, well,
01:48let's get rid of him. But there are a day of top strikers out there. And even if you get another
01:55year out of Calvert-Lewin and leave, say, on a free next year, Everton might be in a far better
02:00position to go and track someone next summer when there might be a striker available on the market.
02:06Plus they pay, what, a million pounds for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. So really, people say,
02:12oh, we're going to lose money. They're not losing any money on him. He came in as a youngster,
02:17probably a little bit of a gamble. Maybe he's come off better than a lot of people expected
02:21anyway. So you look at Amadou Onana, towards the end of last season, he didn't, he was on the bench
02:27for Sean's age. He preferred James Garnard and Idrissa Garnagay and Abdoulaye Doucoure in the
02:33three. So if you look at it, you're thinking, is he integral to Sean's age future? I think he'll
02:38have a great future, Amadou Onana. And I think he'll go on and do real good things in the game.
02:45You're probably looking and thinking, for whatever need now,
02:49is he integral? And the answer is no, I would suspect.
