00:16Joe Gardner was a middle school band teacher.
00:20But his real dream was to become a professional jazz musician.
00:24He knew it was what he was born to do.
00:28One day, Joe got a call from Curly Baker, an old student of his.
00:33Curly invited Joe to audition for the famous Dorothea Williams Quartet.
00:39They were playing at the Half Note, a legendary jazz club.
00:44At the audition, Joe's fingers 5 across the piano keys.
00:49Dorothea was impressed with Joe's performance.
00:52She told Joe to find a good suit for the show later that night.
00:57Joe's dream was finally coming true.
01:00He called everyone he knew eager to share the good news.
01:05Joe was so distracted.
01:07That he fell into an uncovered manhole.
01:11The next thing Joe knew, he had taken the foam of a soul on a moving sidewalk heading
01:16toward a bright light.
01:18Glowing souls around him said they were going to the great beyond.
01:23Joe did not like the sound of that.
01:26He ripped through a barrier and fell down down down into the U-Seminar where new souls
01:30prepared for life on Earth.
01:33Here they would get their personalities and find one last special thing, their spark.
01:39A soul counselor named Jerry thought Joe was a lost mentor.
01:44Mentors helped new souls find their spark.
01:48Joe was paired with a new soul named 22.
01:52But 22 had been paired with hundreds of mentors before.
01:56She didn't want to go to Earth.
01:59Joe and 22 visited a room filled with Joe's ordinary memories.
02:04Joe admitted that he wasn't a mentor.
02:07He just wanted to get back to his life on Earth and perform with Dorothea Williams.
02:13Joe wasn't like any mentor 22 had had before.
02:18She told Joe he could go to Earth in her places.
02:22But first, Joe had to help 22 find her spark so she could earn her Earth Pass and give
02:28it to him.
02:29Joe thought finding 22's purpose on Earth would help her find her spark.
02:35Chemistry.
02:3722 experimented with baking.
02:40And firefighting.
02:42Then she tried being an astronaut.
02:45A librarian.
02:48And even president.
02:50Dozens of tries latter, 22 still had not found her spark.
02:55And they were out of time.
02:5722 had an idea.
03:00She led Joe through a portal to the astral plane.
03:03There, they met a mystic named Moonwind who helped Joe find his body in a hospital on
03:09Earth.
03:11But there was a terrible mix-up.
03:1322 entered Joe's body and Joe ended up in the body of Mr. Mittens the hospital therapy
03:19cat.
03:21Joe and 22 escaped from the hospital and discovered themselves on the noisy streets of New York
03:27City.
03:28Luckily, they found Moonwind on a sheet corner.
03:33He told them to meet turn later of the half-node to get Joe back into his body.
03:39While they waited, Joe and 22 spent the day preparing for Joe's shoe.
03:4422 had to pretend to be Joe and for the first time, 22 saw how wonderful life could be.
03:52As the day ended, 22 thought she might be ready to stay on Earth.
03:57But Joe disagreed.
03:59He didn't think she was ready.
04:02Besides, Joe needed his body back now.
04:06But 22 refused to give up Joe's body.
04:10Suddenly, a portal appeared and transported them both to the U-Seminar.
04:16Someone had tracked Joe down on Earth.
04:19The counselors were shocked to learn that 22 had finally earned her Earth Pass.
04:25But Joe believed she had only earned it because she'd pretended to be him.
04:3022 gave Joe her Earth Pass and disappeared.
04:34Joe refunded to Earth just in time for the show.
04:38The crowd went wild on Joe played.
04:41It was everything he'd ever wanted and then it was over.
04:45He'd thought we would feel different after the show.
04:49But everything was the same.
04:51Back at home, Joe sat at his piano and thought at the small special moments of his day with
04:5722.
04:58As Joe played, he traveled back to the astral plane.
05:03When he'd met Joe there with terrible news, 22 had become a lost soul.
05:09They tried to catch her in Moonwind's boat, but 22 escaped to the U-Seminar.
05:15Joe chased 22 as she tore through the U-Seminar leaving destruction in her wake.
05:21Finally, Joe cornered 22 of the edge of the Earth portal.
05:26He tried to apologize for telling her she wasn't ready to go to Earth.
05:32But just when the thought 22 was listening.
05:35She swallowed him whole.
05:38Inside the lost soul, Joe found the real 22 upset and scored.
05:43He gently handed her a small seed pod she'd collected during their day together and Storm
05:49began to calm.
05:51Joe told 22 he used to think that finding your spark was about realizing your purpose,
05:57but now he knew it was ready about being inspired by life.
06:0222 was ready after all.
06:05Joe gave the Earth pass to 22, and together the two friends jumped toward Earth.
06:11At the last moment, Joe was taken back to the great beyond, but 22 continued eager to
06:17explore the world on her own.
06:20On the moving sidewalk, the counselor had a gift for Joe.
06:25It was a special Earth portal just for him.
06:28Joe had inspired all the counselors by helping 22 and they wanted to thank him.
06:34With just one step, Joe enforced the portal.
06:39Ready to appreciate every moment of his life.
06:42The end.
