00:00Emily Barton was one of the best Sevens players in the world.
00:06Now, she's on the other side, helping the team prepare for Paris as an assistant coach.
00:12Being asked to come back and be involved with this program, it was always something that I was very interested in.
00:16I've got a teaching background and love being able to be a part of this group still and continue to grow the game.
00:22She sees things in a different way to what I do.
00:25And then she brings this really successful, world's best player insight into the team.
00:31Barton retired after having the first of her two children several years ago.
00:36And with only 9% of high-performance head coaches in Australia women, it's hoped more can follow in her footsteps.
00:44We travel a lot. Obviously having a really young family, that puts a lot of strain on my support network.
00:50But I guess I'm so lucky to have such a supportive husband and family.
00:54And it's pretty incredible to have these now young girls looking up to role models.
00:58It's so good to look up to her in our team, especially as a coach, to help support us.
01:03Because she knows what we're going through.
01:06Barton was part of the gold medal winning team in Rio.
01:09And after claiming the World Series title in May, they have a motto for Paris.
01:14It's the no regret campaign. We want to be all in.
01:17We want to prepare so well that no matter the outcome, no matter the result, that we're walking off that field without any regret.
01:24I've just got such confidence in them and belief in them and I'm just trying to help them believe that as well.
