Meralco imposes P2/kWh increase in electricity rate in July

00:06Thus, the overall rate adjustment for a typical household would be 11 pesos

00:11from the more nine pesos per kilowatt hour increase last month.

00:16This means for residential consumers that average 200 kilowatt hours of power usage,

00:21there will be an additional of 430 pesos to their electricity bill.

00:27I would just like to emphasize that the increase in rates this month is due to the normalization of the power costs.

00:39Last month, it was artificially low brought about by the deferment in the USM charges.

00:46So, the actual rates were not reflected last month.
