00:00:25Tough Man Ant revealed some powerful moves
00:00:30James caught Helen's eye
00:00:32You are a bit of a sexy beast actually
00:00:36A serious injury
00:00:39Saw Julie sidelined from the opening night
00:00:42Julie, you have to look after yourself
00:00:46But it was Ben who missed the mark
00:00:49The bum was sticking out so far, it looked like you were presenting it to the nation darling
00:00:53Tonight
00:00:56You're a sensational talent
00:00:58Our second group of all new Dancing Stars
00:01:01I'm like next to speechless at that
00:01:04Take the ballroom by storm
00:01:09Determined to win Dancing's biggest competition
00:01:12Entertainment, 10 out of 10
00:01:16One couple will shoot straight to the top of the series leaderboard
00:01:20While another
00:01:22Will fail to impress
00:01:24Looked like you were drunk at a party
00:01:27The ballroom battle has now begun
00:01:58From the studios of Channel 7
00:02:01This is Dancing with the Stars
00:02:04Please welcome your hosts
00:02:07Sonia Kruger and Chris Brown
00:02:28Come on
00:02:42Wow
00:02:43We made it
00:02:44Somehow we got there
00:02:45Down the stairs in these shoes, it's not easy
00:02:47I have to wear these with Chris because he's 6 foot 5
00:02:50And there's not a lot of oxygen up here
00:02:52I can tell you
00:02:54Always been a problem
00:02:55Opening night was a massive success
00:02:58On Dancing with the Stars
00:02:59I'm not really into numbers but I believe
00:03:01350 million viewers
00:03:03That's conservative
00:03:07It's not bad
00:03:08And that is not even taking into account catch up
00:03:10So I guess with that nudging a billion
00:03:13Have to be
00:03:14Have to be
00:03:15How did you find your first episode?
00:03:17I was really just focusing on just you know
00:03:19Easing my way into the whole night really
00:03:21It was great, I thought you were great
00:03:23I thought you were great
00:03:24Right up until
00:03:27Thank you
00:03:28No, you were amazing
00:03:29Yeah
00:03:30Just the last three seconds of the show
00:03:32I think you were caught a little off guard
00:03:34Have a look
00:03:48Okay, sure
00:03:49What do you call those moves?
00:03:51Look Sonia
00:03:52To be honest
00:03:53I didn't realise I was expected to dance with the stars
00:03:57On Dancing with the Stars
00:03:59It seems strange to say that out loud
00:04:01Why would you think that?
00:04:02The clue might be in the title
00:04:03I don't know why I'm actually ripping you
00:04:05Because what is this?
00:04:06What I was doing
00:04:07Wax on, wax off
00:04:08I'm not sure
00:04:09Now
00:04:10Speaking of stars
00:04:11Yes
00:04:12We have six new celebrities ready to hit the floor tonight
00:04:15Oh yeah
00:04:16And they are all waiting
00:04:18And hoping to impress four very important people
00:04:22So without further ado
00:04:24Please welcome
00:04:25The judges
00:04:29Helen Ritchie
00:04:31Shana Burgess
00:04:34Mark Wilson
00:04:36And Craig Revel Horwood
00:04:49Very nice
00:04:52Darling
00:04:53You did it
00:04:54Lovely work
00:04:55That is a little bit more how the shimmy is done I believe
00:04:59That's an entrance isn't it?
00:05:01Yeah, it's true
00:05:02It's probably fair to say tonight's team has a slight advantage
00:05:06Because they not only saw I guess their competition last week
00:05:09But they got a read on what the judges are looking for
00:05:12Yes
00:05:13Do you get a feeling they've sort of spiced up their routines?
00:05:17I think money's probably changed hands Chris
00:05:19Really?
00:05:20That's serious
00:05:21You never know
00:05:22Well these judges, they can be a little judgy
00:05:24You know what I'm saying
00:05:25That is what they do
00:05:26Yeah
00:05:27Maybe we should see if we can soften up these judges
00:05:29Good idea
00:05:30A little pre-performance chat shall we?
00:05:31Let's do that
00:05:32Yeah
00:05:33Mark we're going to start with you
00:05:34Oh God
00:05:35Welcome
00:05:36Great to see you
00:05:37Wow
00:05:38I am ready
00:05:39I like the velvet
00:05:41Thank you
00:05:42Don't rub me up the wrong way
00:05:43Wow
00:05:44We won't get too close, we might get stuck
00:05:46Look
00:05:48Is that a promise?
00:05:49Look, were you impressed with the standard last week?
00:05:52I'm completely impressed
00:05:53I think the most exciting thing is that the quality of the dancing is higher
00:05:58But what the professionals are getting them to do is much more difficult
00:06:03So they've really ramped up all those choreography elements
00:06:06And they have to because I'll tell you what
00:06:09It's very close from last week
00:06:11And I can't wait to see what happens tonight
00:06:13Yeah, we're looking forward to it
00:06:15Shanna, there were a few low scores
00:06:18How do the professional dancers then sort of rebuild their partner's confidence going forward?
00:06:23You know, I think you have to leave that where it was
00:06:27And know that there is a new dance coming with new opportunity and room for improvement
00:06:31We do have to, as judges, critique the dancing
00:06:34But that should not take away from their experience
00:06:37They're so brave and courageous to get out here
00:06:40And do something they've never done before in front of Australia
00:06:43We admire that so much in them
00:06:46Do what you've got to do, judges
00:06:48We will be supporting them
00:06:50And there's only one thing left to do, really
00:06:52And that is to please welcome to the ballroom
00:06:54Our Dancing Stars
00:06:59First up, superstar singer Samantha Jade
00:07:02And her partner, Gustavo Viglio
00:07:05From Better Homes and Gardens, it's Adam Doble
00:07:07And his partner, Jess Ratbaugh
00:07:10Olympic champion, Nova Paris
00:07:12And her partner, Craig Monley
00:07:15Comedian, Nikki Osborne
00:07:16And her partner, Arik Yugutkin
00:07:19Cook and TV host, Hayden Quinn
00:07:21And his partner, Lily Cornish
00:07:24Sports legend, Shane Crawford
00:07:25And his partner, Ashley Hunter
00:07:37They all look amazing
00:07:40Now, on last week's show, we saw our first six celebrity couples perform
00:07:45Tonight, they will have front row seats
00:07:47Where they can cheer on the competition
00:07:49Probably while secretly hoping they have a wardrobe malfunction
00:07:52Sure, I think that's fair
00:07:53And as a reminder, just like last week
00:07:55There are no eliminations tonight
00:07:57Whatever points our couples are awarded for their routines tonight
00:08:00Will be added to their scores for the next performance
00:08:02All the points count, so it is important they do their very best
00:08:06So basically, you know, have fun
00:08:11Alright, let's get this party started
00:08:15She's a pop princess and a pocket rocket
00:08:18Who's no stranger to the stage
00:08:20But how will she go in the ballroom?
00:08:22It's Samantha Jade and her partner, Gustavo Viglio
00:08:30I'm Samantha Jade, I am a singer, songwriter and actor
00:08:34You may know me from The X Factor
00:08:38I am not a dancer, I'm a singer
00:08:57I would say my secret weapon is my team mate, Gustavo
00:09:01My name is Gustavo, I come from Italy
00:09:04And this is my fifth season of Dancing with the Stars
00:09:07I've actually never met someone with so much energy in my life
00:09:10So I am going to just kind of take on some of that energy
00:09:14Because I'm quite a calm person
00:09:16And so it's a good balance
00:09:18Chaos, calm
00:09:24Your first dance
00:09:26Yeah, what is it?
00:09:27Is going to be the quick step
00:09:29Is that the one where you're like
00:09:32That's exactly the one
00:09:35I think it's really good, you grow from things that scare you
00:09:38And this scares me
00:09:40Head quick
00:09:42Boom
00:09:44Step, step
00:09:46I think the biggest challenge for Samantha in the quick step
00:09:49Is going to be able to have that beautiful long neck
00:09:52And don't have wobbly arms
00:09:551, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, stop
00:09:58See that feeling?
00:10:01Strong
00:10:03Everywhere till the end
00:10:05My shoulders are like this by the end of the form
00:10:08It's so bad
00:10:10I'm so sorry to do this but I swear to God
00:10:13This is going to make the difference
00:10:15That's okay, when we do our singing training you'll have to do some weird stuff
00:10:18As a singer you don't move too much
00:10:20Because you have to be stable to be able to sing
00:10:22And this is the exact opposite
00:10:24Another mistake you've done
00:10:27The head
00:10:296, 7, 8
00:10:31No
00:10:33The head, this way
00:10:35Oh shit, of course
00:10:37Oh my God
00:10:41Please welcome to the floor
00:10:43Samantha Jade and Gustavo Viglio
00:10:47Dancing the quick step
00:10:57I don't need no TV
00:10:59I don't need no news
00:11:01All I need is a bumpin' beat
00:11:03Bum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum

00:12:01Let me see you do your thing now
00:12:03Yeah
00:12:05Let me see you do your thing now
00:12:07Yeah
00:12:09Let me see you do your thing now
00:12:15Applause
00:12:17Applause
00:12:19Applause
00:12:21Applause
00:12:23Samantha Jane and Gustavo
00:12:25Applause
00:12:27Oh my goodness me, come here. You are so gorgeous. How gorgeous is Samantha Jay, right?
00:12:36You're a triple threat, aren't you? You can sing, you can dance, you're gorgeous. You're just like an ever so slightly younger version of me.
00:12:44How was that for you? Oh my gosh, um, I can't believe I just did that. I can't believe I just did it.
00:12:51It was so much fun. Thank you. Thank you guys. It was amazing.
00:12:54Should we hear what the judges have to say? Yeah. All right.
00:12:58Shana. You guys, I'm like next to speechless at that. What, like week one?
00:13:08First of all, fantastic routine that was stacked from the top with content.
00:13:14And I was almost like on the edge of my seat waiting for it to get away from you a little bit because there was so
00:13:19much content in there, but you handled it. You, for the most part, had body contact.
00:13:26Your frame was great. It did get a little wobbly, you know, in the shoulders, but this is your week one with a quick step.
00:13:32I am honestly blown away by you. I cannot wait to see what you do. Congratulations.
00:13:38Thank you so much. Thank you, Shana. Helen, you're a sweetheart. You're small in stature, but you pack a punch, I have to say.
00:13:47Look, it was a quick step from start to finish. At times, I thought you needed to keep your
00:13:53senses up to one another more. Do you feel intimidated, Samantha, by body contact?
00:13:58No, but Gustavo has so much energy and I'm so calm. He is a ball of energy. Yeah. And you're
00:14:04quite demure, I would say. So do you find that intimidating? Maybe I do. I don't know.
00:14:11We would like to see a little bit more of you. Okay. And Gustavo, you're gorgeous and you're a
00:14:15good dancer, but you need to calm down a little bit. Yes, it's going to be hard. I understand that.
00:14:24But look, otherwise, sometimes you look like you're dancing as two individuals
00:14:27and I want to see two people dancing as one. And I'm sure you can do that. Thank you.
00:14:33Thank you, Helen. Craig? Yeah, there was quite a bit of gapping, actually. Also, you lost your frame
00:14:42on more than one occasion. I think that was largely due to the speed and probably
00:14:47Gustavo's energy, darling. But I love, darling, in the Charleston stuff, your swivel. I mean,
00:14:52it is all there. Cross, swivel, incredible shapes you cut there. Also, your musicality
00:15:00is second to none. Brilliant. Thank you. Good comments there from Craig. Mark?
00:15:06Beautiful feet. And from your feet comes everything else. If you haven't got your
00:15:11feet right and your posture above that correct, you cannot move fast. So that's the first thing
00:15:16that really stood out to me. The scattered chassés, they were so quick and on point. I loved it. I
00:15:24thought the routine was excellent. Packed a lot of power. I loved it. I really loved it. Thank you.
00:15:30Thank you, Mark. First up tonight, was that nerve-wracking for you? Oh my gosh, so nerve-wracking.
00:15:36Well, you know what? You nailed it. And what a way to open the show, everybody.
00:15:39Why don't you take those little dancing feet up the top to go and see Chris in the skybox,
00:15:45so he can do his thing while we take a little look back at that amazing quick step from Samantha J
00:15:51and her partner, Gustavo Viglio, throwing in a bit of Charleston as well.
00:16:01Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Sorry, I wasn't aware we were starting with the professional dancers
00:16:06tonight. Normally, it's different. That's very kind. Thank you. No, that was so much fun. I can't
00:16:11believe I just did that. Yeah. I've been thinking, like, how am I going to get through it? And I,
00:16:15we got through it. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Obviously, I'm quite disappointed you didn't choose me
00:16:20as a dance partner, because I feel like, I feel like that would have really...
00:16:27Can you find your own dance partner here?
00:16:30You need someone taller. Very dangerous to start something with the Italian stallion in
00:16:35week two. Should we see the judges' scores? I think it's time.
00:16:39Ladies and gentlemen, the judges have their scores. Craig Revel Horwood. Seven. Ellen Ritchie.
00:16:48Eight. Shana Burgess. Eight. Mark Wilson. Eight.
00:16:56Let's go. I get the impression we're pretty happy with that. Yeah, we're happy. So happy.
00:17:07How do you say happy in Italian?
00:17:12Yeah, I know what that means.
00:17:15I couldn't agree more. Back to you, Sonia.
00:17:19Coming up next, he's a builder by trade, but can he nail tonight's performance?
00:17:24Better Homes and Gardens, Adam Dovill and his partner, Jess Raffa.
00:17:48Welcome back to Dancing With The Stars. Now, are you ready for your next couple?
00:17:52Well, it's time to find out if this builder has the right tools in his belt to become a top dancer.
00:18:05My name's Adam Dovill, and you might know me as the DIY presenter from Better Homes and Gardens.
00:18:14My dance ability, I would have to say, is probably non-existent.
00:18:18I'm about as graceful as a wrecking ball knocking down a brick wall.
00:18:23My name's Jessica Raffa. This is my eighth series of Dancing With The Stars.
00:18:27Adam's fit, young. He's a chippy. He's quite good looking.
00:18:34And that's all I need. That's the base of turning this guy into a beautiful dancer.
00:18:44All right, this week we have the jive. I know nothing about the jive.
00:18:49It's like full of energy. It's an old Elvis song, but it's like remixed.
00:18:53It's fast. I am concerned about the fast movements.
00:18:57Look at me here. It's full smile. It's like all yourself. We're bringing the Elvis out.
00:19:08You just make it look so good. I just make it look ridiculous.
00:19:13I've never danced with anyone that laughs so hard.
00:19:16Adam gets overexcited, and I think this is going to be my problem with his dance.
00:19:27Think of the world's most craziest rollercoaster. That's what it's like.
00:19:30You want to come for a ride. It's good fun.
00:19:36This is my family, Jess. How are you?
00:19:39You got Arabella, Lisa, little Ruby. Do you think daddy can dance?
00:19:45No. If I can show my two beautiful girls that I can actually dance,
00:19:51I think that would get a lot of enjoyment out of that.
00:19:58Imagine when he actually finishes that jive, and if he nails it, if he gets to that last
00:20:04beat, that's going to be the best feeling, and I really pray that he gets to feel that.
00:20:09Yeah, that would be amazing. Yeah, that would be amazing.
00:20:12Good luck in Nothing's Impossible.
00:20:14Oh, yes. Give me five. That's what I like. That's fighting me up, girls.
00:20:22Dancing the jive. Please welcome Adam DeVille and his partner, Jess Raffa.
00:21:34Hey, baby, that's all right with me, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, baby, that's all right with me.
00:21:44Adam DeVille and Jess Raffa. Come on over here, you two.
00:22:08Oh, my goodness. There was a lot of yelling going on on the floor.
00:22:16It was a little bit different, wasn't it?
00:22:17It was awesome. Adam, have you ever danced before? Because you look like you have. I mean,
00:22:24you're very naturally kind of exuberant and talented on the floor. To me, I don't know,
00:22:31what did you guys think? It was fun.
00:22:35I like to have fun, Tanya, and I think I was lucky to have the jive first because I could
00:22:40just be myself. So I enjoyed that part of it. Two minutes of hard cardio still doesn't wipe
00:22:45the smile off your face either. I love that. Let's see what the judges got to say, actually. Helen.
00:22:50Well, you've got it in spades, Adam. You've got a great smile.
00:22:55OK, look, it may not have been technically perfect, but your enthusiasm and passion that
00:23:01you showed was great. We don't expect you to be perfect, technically, not any of you.
00:23:06It's not going to happen in the amount of time you have to learn. But your love of what you did
00:23:12was just like a magnet. And I just loved it. And I thought you were terrific tonight. Thank you.
00:23:17Thank you very much. Thank you, Helen. Craig.
00:23:20Well, unlike Helen, I do expect you to be perfect, darling. It lacked retraction. It
00:23:26was flat footed. It was very, very heavy, which made it look stumpy. It lacked precision as well.
00:23:35But there is something, Adam, about you that I really, really love. And it's your energy
00:23:41and it's your performance, darling. Thank you, Craig. Mark.
00:23:47Yeah, you have a super smile, a super vibe. You're a strong leader, which I really like.
00:23:53And you're a sensational talent. So, yes, you need to be lighter on your feet and your chasse
00:23:59is a bit heavy. But the enthusiasm and what I loved in the package was one of your little girls said
00:24:05nothing's impossible. And it shows what kind of dad you are, you know,
00:24:09to give that kind of belief in your children. And you brought that here tonight. Fabulous.
00:24:14Thank you so much. Very adorable, by the way. Shada.
00:24:18Adam, it turns out you actually really can dance.
00:24:22Thank you.
00:24:24So as I echo my judges here, you have this amazing energy about you. Like I was watching
00:24:30you the whole time. Like I feel like your energy was coming at me in the best of ways.
00:24:35Harness that energy, find your details, but do not lose an ounce of who you are on that floor.
00:24:43Well, Adam, interesting comments. Pretty good for the most part.
00:24:47I'll take that.
00:24:47Are you happy with that?
00:24:48Thank you very much.
00:24:50Look, it's time to send you upstairs to the skybox to see Chris.
00:24:53Just don't look too closely. I don't think they're code.
00:24:59Let's take a look back at Adam's show.
00:25:01Wow. I don't think I've ever seen a dance with more.
00:25:22Jess, can I ask you, are you now clinically deaf?
00:25:24Yeah, but I wanted him to bring it because
00:25:27our other dancers are a bit serious. So I needed him to be himself tonight.
00:25:32So I think he brought it to the dance floor.
00:25:34It was unbelievable. Adam, just to say you are sweating up a storm at the moment.
00:25:42Was it your idea or just convenient to have your outfit made out of Terry Toweling tonight?
00:25:46That's right. I'm wearing a towel, so that definitely doesn't help the situation.
00:25:50But look, to be quite honest, I reckon even if I wasn't wearing a towel,
00:25:52I'd be sweating about this much.
00:25:54There is every chance. We love the smile.
00:25:56Potentially the only thing that could take the smile off your face are the judges scores.
00:26:01It is time for those now.
00:26:03Will the judges please reveal their scores?
00:26:07Craig Revel Horwood.
00:26:08Five.
00:26:10Helen Ritchie.
00:26:11Seven.
00:26:13Shana Burgess.
00:26:14Seven.
00:26:16Mark Wilson.
00:26:18Seven.
00:26:20Great score. Are you happy with that?
00:26:22I'm very happy with that score, yeah.
00:26:25Jess, I've got to ask, so much energy.
00:26:27So much.
00:26:28Coming from here. Is it hard to contain that and keep a lid on it?
00:26:31100%. Like in our other dances, it took weeks and weeks for him just to chill out. He's crazy.
00:26:39It was a great performance. Really, really enjoyable.
00:26:42You have a chance to dry off. Back to you, Sonia.
00:26:46Thank you, Chris. Up next, sporting legend Nova Paris
00:26:50burns the floor with her Olympic flame, Don't Go Anywhere.
00:26:54Welcome back to Dancing with the Stars.
00:27:15Now, you need nerves of steel to remain calm under pressure.
00:27:20You don't win a gold medal at the Olympics otherwise.
00:27:23Radiating nothing but quiet confidence.
00:27:27Here's Nova Paris and her partner, Craig Monley.
00:27:35I'm Nova Paris, a two-time dual Olympian and Olympic gold medalist, former senator.
00:27:42Almost feels like the eve of an Olympic final.
00:27:45I've got to nail this one. So, yeah, got to get it right.
00:27:49A mother of three and a grandmother. I've always been the underdog.
00:27:54So for me, in all of this, it'd be great to be the underdog.
00:27:58And I was like, oh, Nova Paris is 53 years old. She can't dance.
00:28:02It's like fine wine. You only get better with age. So that's the way I feel.
00:28:07I think at 53, we're going to have you dancing rings around all these young kids. Don't you worry.
00:28:11The only time I've ever danced prior to this was at nightclubs.
00:28:21Hello. Our first dance is going to be Viennese waltz.
00:28:25I'm excited. All right, let's go.
00:28:27We're going to start with our basic movements first today, just to get you moving and shifting.
00:28:31It's pretty exciting this season to be partnered with an Olympian and an athlete
00:28:36and working with someone that really understands the physicality of dancing.
00:28:40Oh, sorry.
00:28:43My body is not as young as it was back in the day.
00:28:46I know we're going to do lots of training and I need to keep my body intact the whole way.
00:28:52Yeah, in track and field, you're coming out of the blocks.
00:28:55It's aggressive. It's rip, rip, rip, rip. Whereas here, it's just glide, glide, glide forward.
00:29:00So it's a bit different. I'm under no illusion that it's easy. It's bloody hard
00:29:05to be able to learn steps, do this, do that, hold posture, turn.
00:29:12The speed of it is overwhelming.
00:29:15One, two, three, one, two. That's it.
00:29:17But if I thought I couldn't do it, I just wouldn't even say that I couldn't do it.
00:29:23That's just not how my brain is wired.
00:29:28Keep doing that for a couple more times.
00:29:30Are you checking for when we finish?
00:29:31No. No, I'm fine.
00:29:35Please welcome to the floor, Nova Paris and Craig Monley, dancing the Viennese Waltz.
00:30:05Mmm, that's what you are.
00:30:17Unforgettable,
00:30:23from here on far.
00:30:25And that's why, darling, when you hold my hand, I can hardly understand
00:30:50how someone like you thinks that I am.
00:30:54Unforgettable, too.
00:31:25Oh, yeah, make some noise for Nova Paris and Craig Monley.
00:31:30Oh, I haven't seen a politician spin like that around the floor since Barnaby Joyce, just saying.
00:31:37Nova, with your incredible sporting career,
00:31:41the Olympics, this must have been a walk in the park by comparison,
00:31:46really, the pressure that you faced.
00:31:48Um, commitment, dedication, perseverance.
00:31:53That's what I brought.
00:31:55I brought no dancing skills.
00:31:58So everything I have done tonight is because of Craig.
00:32:02He brought a beautiful routine.
00:32:04He's like, just perform it and just go for it.
00:32:08It was really stunning.
00:32:09The staging of it to the Winter Wonderland in the background.
00:32:13It was beautiful.
00:32:14Should we get some judges comments?
00:32:16All right, Craig.
00:32:19The arms, unfortunately, were expressionless.
00:32:21Your frame and your top line were very poor indeed.
00:32:25There was too much rise and fall in this dance.
00:32:27It should be on really one level, very small rise and fall.
00:32:31You need to learn to spot, darling, when you turn.
00:32:34Otherwise, you look lobotomized.
00:32:38It lacked flow.
00:32:39It was jerky.
00:32:40It was lumpy.
00:32:41Apart from all that, it was perfect, darling.
00:32:46Don't sugarcoat it, Craig.
00:32:48Mark.
00:32:49I think I was looking at a different couple.
00:32:56And I say this because when you're in your package,
00:32:58you kind of walk through very quickly when you were talking
00:33:01about all the things that you have done.
00:33:02I mean, the first First Nation person to win a gold medal.
00:33:10And I know this is your amazing life,
00:33:11but I just feel like anything I could say
00:33:14doesn't encapsulate what you have brought to Australia,
00:33:17but also the courage you have for your grandchildren
00:33:21and your family to watch what you can still do.
00:33:24And you're going to be a beautiful dancer.
00:33:26Well done.
00:33:27Thank you.
00:33:29Thanks, Mark.
00:33:30Shana.
00:33:31I want to start with such a beautiful routine, Craig.
00:33:34I always love the way that you create.
00:33:36It felt so natural in its movement
00:33:38and the way that you support her is beautiful.
00:33:40So congratulations to you.
00:33:41Nova, you are gorgeous, girl out there.
00:33:44You are all woman and all beautiful.
00:33:47And I think that this maybe feels very foreign in a world
00:33:50of it's not track and field.
00:33:52It's not what you do, what you've grown up doing.
00:33:55We're asking you to get out here and be elegant,
00:33:57be graceful, smile, do all the things.
00:33:59But you can.
00:34:00And I think I just want you to know that
00:34:02because that was stunning watching you out there.
00:34:08Thank you, Shana.
00:34:09Helen.
00:34:12Well, first of all, I have to say you look gorgeous in that dress.
00:34:15You look just beautiful.
00:34:18I agree with the other judges that it did get too high
00:34:21through your frame, through your shoulders.
00:34:23And some of the transitions could have been smoother.
00:34:26But overall, you are like a bottle of wine.
00:34:29You're gorgeous.
00:34:32Delicious.
00:34:33Thank you very much, Helen.
00:34:35Delicious.
00:34:36What do you think of those comments?
00:34:38I can take constructive criticism.
00:34:39Otherwise, I wouldn't have reached the highs that I have in life.
00:34:42But, you know, I'm here because of the work that we've put on.
00:34:45And it's not an easy thing for any of us to sort of come out here
00:34:49and perform and just smile and shoulders and pointy toes.
00:34:55All the things.
00:34:57You've done some truly inspiring things.
00:35:00You know, really, you are such a great role model for everybody.
00:35:03Why don't you head on up there and see Dr Chris
00:35:07in our very own Olympic Village in the Skybox.
00:35:11There is Nova from Paris, dancing at Viennese whilst with her partner, Greg Monley.
00:35:21Oh, well done, you.
00:35:24I'm going to ask you, all those years playing hockey,
00:35:27all that training, this is training.
00:35:29Is there any muscle memory that comes back to you with all this working out?
00:35:33Um, yeah, just the endurance side of things.
00:35:37It's always in there.
00:35:39And you can push yourself.
00:35:40And I'd like to keep myself fit.
00:35:42I've done Kokoda a couple of times.
00:35:44I just push, push, push.
00:35:45And, you know, there's no reason why any woman at any age can't sort of take up a new hobby.
00:35:50And maybe, I don't know, dancing might be a new hobby for me.
00:35:53I don't know.
00:35:55Beautifully said, Nova.
00:35:56It was a true delight.
00:35:56Well done, Craig.
00:35:57It is now time for the judges' scores.
00:36:00The judges' scores are in.
00:36:21There we go, a total of 19.
00:36:22That's a really solid start.
00:36:23Well done.
00:36:24Thank you.
00:36:27Yeah, you should be really proud of that, I think.
00:36:29Craig, for you, there's a bit of pressure on you.
00:36:31I mean, it's not often you dance with a gold medalist, right?
00:36:33Well, this is actually my first time with an athlete even.
00:36:35So this one's a whole new experience for me.
00:36:38Yeah.
00:36:39Well done, guys.
00:36:39Really, really impressive.
00:36:41Now it is time for the halftime leaderboard.
00:36:45Sitting at the top there, Samantha and Gustavo with 31.
00:36:48Adam and Jess, 26.
00:36:49And then, closely followed by Nova and Craig on 19 points.
00:36:54Sonia, back to you.
00:36:55Three couples.
00:36:56And still to come, comedian Nikki Osbourne and celebrity cook Hayden Quinn.
00:37:01But up next, a special performance from two of our top pro dancers.
00:37:06Don't go away.
00:37:13Go, Samantha!
00:37:26Woo!
00:37:28Welcome back.
00:37:29Now, before we get any more celebrities out on the dance floor,
00:37:32we thought we'd check in with next week's stars.
00:37:35Hello, how are we doing?
00:37:36Are we all good?
00:37:38Middleton!
00:37:40Yes, star!
00:37:40Thank you.
00:37:42Well done.
00:37:42We're actually going to start with you, Ant.
00:37:44It feels like there's such great camaraderie amongst the group, right?
00:37:47You've all become such great friends.
00:37:49Way too much fun going on.
00:37:50Well, how are you going to yell at them in the next series of SAS Australia?
00:37:54I have my ways.
00:37:56Like the judges have their ways, I have my ways.
00:37:59When we're all seeking redemption.
00:38:01I meant to seduce the judges, but it's coming.
00:38:04Oh, I'm looking forward to that.
00:38:06Julie, you suffered an injury a couple of weeks ago.
00:38:09So how's the rehab going?
00:38:11It's going great.
00:38:11I'm taking all the advice and I'm literally getting stronger every day.
00:38:16That is good to hear.
00:38:18Now, Dr Chris is a vet.
00:38:21I can get him to take a look if you like.
00:38:23He might put me down.
00:38:26I don't think it's time for the screens yet, Julie.
00:38:29Save that for week five, I think.
00:38:30Yeah.
00:38:31I do bulk build, though.
00:38:32That's good news.
00:38:33Good news for you.
00:38:34And Lisa, you were a picture of elegance on the dance floor.
00:38:40Will this be an ongoing theme where we're going to see Lisa McCune get down and dirty?
00:38:44Oh, actually, I think we are going to go that way a little next week, I think.
00:38:48Yeah.
00:38:48Oh, wow.
00:38:49Yeah.
00:38:49It's what we call a deep tease.
00:38:55I want you to swing through my legs, but I'm going to hold on to you.
00:38:58Oh, my God.
00:38:58I might hit my nose, but I've always wanted a nose job, so it's OK.
00:39:01One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
00:39:06I just hope that Ian has the faith in me to stretch me a little bit
00:39:10because I'm willing to go there.
00:39:12Well, I'm going to jump over your head.
00:39:14What?
00:39:16Bullshit.
00:39:19What?
00:39:19I'm going to jump over your head.
00:39:21What, standing up?
00:39:22Yeah, standing up.
00:39:23We're going to use the height difference to our advantage here.
00:39:27Have you done that before?
00:39:28Just making yourself on the go.
00:39:29Just make sure you get your head down because otherwise I'm going to knock your head off.
00:39:33Yeah.
00:39:34OK.
00:39:34Yeah, I mean, he may not clear me on the night.
00:39:38OK.
00:39:43A deep tease.
00:39:44A deep tease.
00:39:46I think that's illegal in most states and territories nowadays.
00:39:48Not in Canberra.
00:39:49True.
00:39:50Chris, I think it's time for a little bit of competition inspo.
00:39:53So why don't we get some of our professional dancers out here?
00:39:56You know what?
00:39:56I actually have just the thing.
00:39:57I may have only been here for a week, but I have connections.
00:40:00See, last week, Lily Cornish and Gustavo Villior wowed us with a cha-cha-cha.
00:40:05Now, performing a combination of foxtrot and quick step,
00:40:08it is reigning Dance With The Stars champion Ashley Hunter and Ian Waite.
00:40:12Please welcome them to the dance floor.
00:40:20In olden days, a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking.
00:40:33Now heaven knows anything goes.
00:40:41And though I'm not a great romancer.
00:40:45I know you're bound to answer when we propose.
00:40:50And though I'm not a great romance-er.
00:40:51I know you're bound to answer when we propose.
00:40:53And anything goes.
00:40:57And anything goes.
00:40:59And anything goes.
00:41:01And anything goes.
00:41:03Anything goes.
00:41:05Everything goes.
00:41:07Everything goes.
00:41:09Go!
00:41:11Go!
00:41:13And though we're not such great romances, we know that you're bound to answer when we
00:41:22propose.
00:41:23Anything goes!
00:41:24Anything goes!
00:41:25Anything goes!
00:41:26Anything goes!
00:41:27Anything goes!
00:41:28Anything goes!
00:41:29Anything goes!
00:41:30Yeah, make some noise for Ian Waiton, his partner, Ashley Hunter!
00:41:35Oh, how beautiful was that?
00:41:40Stunning.
00:41:41Absolutely gorgeous.
00:41:42Ballroom at it's best.
00:41:43It was.
00:41:44It was.
00:41:45Yes, and if you squinted in the mirror, we'd see you down the hall.
00:41:54And if you squinted, it almost looked like it could have been you and me.
00:41:57I thought that her ass time doubles for a second, yeah.
00:41:59Now, coming up after the break, it's Nikki Osbourne and her partner, Arik Yegudkin,
00:42:05performing a very sexy cha-cha-cha.
00:42:24Welcome back to Dancing With The Stars 2024.
00:42:32Now, we've already seen some fantastic performances tonight,
00:42:35but now it's time to see how comedian Nikki Osbourne
00:42:39goes swapping her ha-ha-ha for a cha-cha-cha.
00:42:46I'm Nikki Osbourne and I'm a comedian.
00:42:50I'm Arik Yegudkin.
00:42:51This is my 14th season. I love it.
00:42:55You've got spirit and charisma and you love dancing, and so do I.
00:42:58And that's what's important.
00:43:00That's nice, spirit and charisma.
00:43:02That'd be really good, like, poodle names, wouldn't it?
00:43:09All right, so what are we doing?
00:43:10So, our first dance?
00:43:11Yes.
00:43:12Cha-cha-cha.
00:43:14Ooh, I like that.
00:43:16It's sexy, it's fast, there's hips.
00:43:19Hip and hip and ta-ta-ta.
00:43:21Arik's great.
00:43:22He's just going ta-ta-ta, ba-ba-ba.
00:43:26Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
00:43:28Oh, I like that.
00:43:29Da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
00:43:31Yes.
00:43:32She's a groover, I tell you.
00:43:33She loves Beyonce, she loves Britney.
00:43:35I see why.
00:43:37All I've got to do is just make sure you're in the right spot at the right time.
00:43:40Which is the challenge.
00:43:42Boom.
00:43:43And moving forward.
00:43:45Boom.
00:43:46Boom.
00:43:46Yeah, we boom at the right time.
00:43:49We've had a groin-bonk collide.
00:43:53We've got to get our bearings here, because otherwise it's going to hurt you a lot more
00:43:57than it's going to hurt me.
00:43:58A hundred percent.
00:43:59I'm going to make sure you have a good time.
00:44:00We're going to have fun.
00:44:01It's always an exciting adventure, and this one's going to be fun.
00:44:03This is going to be the best one yet.
00:44:08Dancing the cha-cha-cha with her partner Arik Yegudkin, it's Nikki Osbourne.
00:44:22Yeah.
00:44:30Yeah, yeah.
00:44:35The clock strikes upon the hour, and the sun begins to fade.
00:44:43Still enough time to figure out how to chase my blues away.
00:44:51I'm going to ride up till now.
00:44:55The light of day that shows me how.
00:44:59So when the night falls, my only heart calls.
00:45:06Yeah, we dance with somebody.
00:45:10I would feel like it was somebody.
00:45:14Yeah, we dance with somebody.
00:45:18With somebody who loves me.
00:45:21Don't you want to dance?
00:45:22Say you want to dance.
00:45:23Don't you want to dance?
00:45:24Dance.
00:45:25Don't you want to dance?
00:45:26Say you want to dance.
00:45:27Don't you want to dance?
00:45:28Dance.
00:45:29Don't you want to dance?
00:45:30Say you want to dance.
00:45:32Dance.
00:45:34With somebody who loves me.
00:45:38Oh.
00:45:40Dance.
00:45:42Yeah.
00:45:57Wow.
00:45:59That was so good.
00:46:02I feel like we've both almost got our cha-chas out.
00:46:04We have.
00:46:05I was going to say, how do you feel now, everyone, seeing your cha-cha?
00:46:08Yeah, thankfully it's in the way that my parents would like.
00:46:11All right.
00:46:12Should we get some judges' comments?
00:46:13Okay.
00:46:14Okay.
00:46:15Mark.
00:46:16Do you know what?
00:46:17You have some real talent.
00:46:18And I feel like over the next few weeks, you've got to really dig into the rehearsal, really
00:46:22focusing on being able to look in cha-cha, straighten your leg, to use your body, dance
00:46:28to him, to keep your legs connected so they're not flailing around.
00:46:33That'll be the challenge.
00:46:34Those really primary basic actions of using power through your feet and legs is going
00:46:40to bring out what you may be frightened to bring out, which is something that's more
00:46:44sexier, more serious, and more powerful.
00:46:47That's something we haven't seen.
00:46:48I'd love to see that.
00:46:49Okay.
00:46:50All right.
00:46:51Shana.
00:46:52I actually feel like I saw a lot of your personality on that floor in a really great way.
00:46:58And I also saw sexiness and musicality, and I saw you really giving it everything that
00:47:03you've got.
00:47:04And I loved watching you tonight in that cha-cha.
00:47:06Thank you.
00:47:07Cha-cha is a really hard dance, and you have these gorgeous, long, lean legs, which makes
00:47:13it almost even harder.
00:47:15I want you to dance to your height.
00:47:17Go all the way up there and just be strong, beautiful, and tall.
00:47:20Eric's fine.
00:47:21He is all good.
00:47:22He's still going to lead you no matter what height you are, so don't sacrifice your gorgeous
00:47:26length to dance down to him, because you don't need to.
00:47:29I want to see you stretch and fill the space with all the confidence in the world, because
00:47:34I really think you've got something out there.
00:47:36Okay.
00:47:37Thank you.
00:47:38Thank you, Shana.
00:47:39Helen.
00:47:40You come across as a really sweet lady with a lovely sense of humour, and you do have
00:47:45a great pair of legs, but somehow you need to use them better.
00:47:51But to do that, your core area is not really connected to your limbs.
00:47:57So if I said to you, you need to be standing, actively waiting, would you understand that?
00:48:05No.
00:48:07Yeah.
00:48:08Yes.
00:48:09It's that thing.
00:48:10The whoa thing.
00:48:11Yeah, but if, look, all right, for example, if you were waiting in a bus stop, okay, now
00:48:17suddenly you've got to get up onto a step.
00:48:20What would you do to do that?
00:48:22Well, I don't take public transport, but I would...
00:48:28Oh, well.
00:48:29Thanks for that.
00:48:30I would lean forward.
00:48:31Would I lean forward?
00:48:32No.
00:48:33Well, you'd fall if you leaned forward.
00:48:34What would you do with your legs?
00:48:35I'd lift it.
00:48:36Good thinking.
00:48:37Right.
00:48:38So now...
00:48:39Is it a trick question?
00:48:40No, it is not a trick question.
00:48:41No, it is not.
00:48:42So you would lift it.
00:48:43But where would you lift it from?
00:48:44Your cha-cha.
00:48:45I think what...
00:48:46It's like that being connected to your core, right?
00:48:47Yeah.
00:48:48Everything starts from your core.
00:48:49Yeah, that's what I just said.
00:48:50Exactly.
00:48:51Yeah.
00:48:52So that's the answer.
00:48:53I was just trying to help.
00:48:54Like, from your core, that's the answer.
00:48:55Yeah.
00:48:56Yeah.
00:48:57Yeah.
00:48:58Yeah.
00:48:59Yeah.
00:49:00Yeah.
00:49:01Yeah.
00:49:02Yeah.
00:49:03Yeah.
00:49:05Yeah.
00:49:06Yeah.
00:49:07Yeah.
00:49:08Yeah.
00:49:09But actively waiting, that's what dancers do.
00:49:11If you watch all of our dancers, they don't come out and they're all sloppy and not ready
00:49:15to go, are they?
00:49:16They are toned up, ready to go.
00:49:17Aren't they, Tanya?
00:49:18Yes.
00:49:19Reflexes of a cat.
00:49:20Right.
00:49:21I'm done.
00:49:22That's it.
00:49:23Thanks, Ellen.
00:49:24Craig.
00:49:25Darling, I'm losing the will to live here with all of this.
00:49:26What is it?
00:49:27Prime Minister's Question Time.
00:49:28Darling?
00:49:29I mean, really.
00:49:30You do lack tone.
00:49:31You do need to lift up out of your chest.
00:49:32You were just as bad.
00:49:33You were just as bad.
00:49:34You've had your go, darling.
00:49:35Yes, I know.
00:49:36You need to zip it.
00:49:37No, I'm not.
00:49:38Zip, zip.
00:49:39Don't argue with me, Craig.
00:49:40Oh.
00:49:41You're not going to win.
00:49:42I know, the queen will win, darling.
00:49:43Of course.
00:49:44Which one?
00:49:45But she's only just started working with this one, sweetie.
00:49:46Oh.
00:49:47Oh.
00:49:48Oh.
00:49:49Oh.
00:49:50Oh.
00:49:51Oh.
00:49:52Oh.
00:49:53Oh.
00:49:54Oh.
00:49:55Oh.
00:49:56Oh.
00:49:57Oh.
00:49:58It's not bad, sweetie.
00:49:59It sort of looked in the end like you were drunk at a party.
00:50:03Well, because she was.
00:50:06Playing to my strengths.
00:50:10Oh my goodness.
00:50:13All right.
00:50:17Put your hands together for Nicky Osbourne.
00:50:24decipher some of that while we have a quick look back at Nikki's cha-cha and those amazing
00:50:31legs that sparked such a discussion amongst our judges.
00:50:40Oh yes, yes, yes. Wow. Where did you come from?
00:50:47Burping Gary.
00:50:49In the dancing competition, you just emerged. That was, that was beautiful.
00:50:52You liked it.
00:50:55I've got to say watching Helen and Craig talk then was like watching mum and dad fighting, but
00:51:00I might just leave them for a moment just to sort that out. But speaking of physical activity,
00:51:04Arik, we saw in the in the package there that you guys shared a groin bonk.
00:51:10After 14 years in the competition, is that your first?
00:51:12After 14 years in the competition, is that your first?
00:51:15I have to say it is. She's got long legs.
00:51:20It's more than Craig's had this year.
00:51:24Clearly. That's going to help the judges' scores. I think it's time for those.
00:51:29Ladies and gentlemen, the judges have their scores.
00:51:33Craig Revel Horwood.
00:51:35Three.
00:51:36Helen Ritchie.
00:51:38Funny lady, five.
00:51:41Shana Burgess.
00:51:43Six.
00:51:44Mark Wilson.
00:51:46Yeah, six.
00:51:51There we go. A total of 20. That's, that's a pretty good start.
00:51:55If it was out of 20, yeah.
00:51:58That is true. A lot to think about. Boarding buses, getting up on stage,
00:52:02many things to work on. So that's going to be exciting. Back to you, Sonia.
00:52:05Thank you, Chris.
00:52:08Coming up next, we have Sophie Cook, Hayden Quinn, and his partner, Lily Cornish.
00:52:14Don't go anywhere.
00:52:33Welcome back. Now, our next celebrity can cook, he can surf, he can write,
00:52:37but the only question we have on this show is, can he dance? Here's Hayden Quinn.
00:52:44I'm Hayden Quinn, and you may know me from Taste of Australia.
00:52:55And look at that. Oh my God.
00:52:57Got some little poached prawn here, chef.
00:53:01I think a common misconception about me, people think I'm
00:53:05quite relaxed and just like chill with everything, but I'm the complete opposite.
00:53:10I'm Lily Cornish, and this is my sixth season of Dancing with the Stars.
00:53:15Hayden's so lovely, and he's got the best attitude.
00:53:19The only thing that we're lacking is danceability.
00:53:29Hey, Tina. She's our new little puppy. She is, can you guess it? Half sausage dog,
00:53:37half kelpie, and half border collie.
00:53:40So she's one and a half of a dog.
00:53:43Oh yeah. Sorry, percentages are not right.
00:53:47Our first dance is going to be the tango.
00:53:50And one, two, three.
00:53:52The tango is such a full-on intense dance, so I'm asking for a lot of brain power from Hayden today.
00:53:59And one, two, three.
00:54:02Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm.
00:54:03Dancing's a very physical sport, but more than that, it's totally a mental game.
00:54:08Lily's got a bit of a game she likes to play. We can only
00:54:12move forward if we get it right three times in a row on my own.
00:54:15Four and five, six.
00:54:19Doing it on your own is a lot harder than when she's dragging me around the dance floor.
00:54:23Four step, five out, six, seven.
00:54:27Knowing what you're meant to do is the easy part.
00:54:30And one.
00:54:32The hard part is actually making that sync and flow in the moment,
00:54:37linking it together with all the other steps.
00:54:39And three, four, close, five, six.
00:54:44I'm worried about that first dance. That's going to be the scary one.
00:54:48Five, six, seven, eight.
00:54:51Nice.
00:54:53Please welcome to the floor, Hayden Quinn and Lily Cornish, Dancing the Tango.
00:55:53My patience is waning.
00:55:55Is this entertaining?
00:56:23Oh yes, Hayden Quinn and Lily Cornish.
00:56:35Well done, buddy. Well done.
00:56:38You scared me with the coffins for a second.
00:56:40I thought Daryl and Todd maybe were coming out of there just to visit us.
00:56:46Anyway, that'll never make the edit.
00:56:49Now, Hayden, how did that go for you?
00:56:52That was good. That was good.
00:56:53It's been a real few weeks that we've had.
00:56:57But it's fun to finally be here, put it on the dance floor,
00:57:00and just try and connect and be in the dance with Lily.
00:57:03Yeah.
00:57:04Yeah, I loved it.
00:57:05I thought it was just really masculine and brilliant.
00:57:08This ozempic diet is working out for you.
00:57:13All right, let's get the judges' comments.
00:57:15Sharna.
00:57:16Hayden, I think you have real potential in this competition.
00:57:20There were some real technical things over the top of it
00:57:23that you really need to fix.
00:57:25But you have the makings of it.
00:57:27Like the way that you partner Lily,
00:57:29you guide her, the way you lift her,
00:57:31how safe she is in your arms.
00:57:32That's amazing.
00:57:33You were stretching.
00:57:36You were stretching away from your feet in some of your lines.
00:57:39Love that attention to detail.
00:57:41It was beautiful.
00:57:41There was strength and pressure in the floor.
00:57:43And then you'd get into frame and you were like a little old man.
00:57:47So I lost then that masculinity and that space and wit that you have.
00:57:53But at the same time, there's really something about you.
00:57:55So I think there's so much room for improvement.
00:57:57And well done on a first dance.
00:57:59Thank you, thank you.
00:58:00Potential, Sharna says.
00:58:02All right, Helen.
00:58:03I don't know what's going on in this series,
00:58:05but you're the best looking skeleton I've ever seen.
00:58:08Thank you, Helen.
00:58:09That's very kind.
00:58:10Look, I'm old.
00:58:11I'm allowed to get away with it.
00:58:12Okay.
00:58:14Look, there were parts that were really good.
00:58:16And then there were parts were a bit iffy.
00:58:18Sometimes it was overcooked and other times it was undercooked.
00:58:24But you know, I think you actually could be good.
00:58:27You're very interesting.
00:58:28Thank you.
00:58:31Craig.
00:58:32Yes.
00:58:32I think the beginning and all the slide down, I think was fantastic.
00:58:36And I went, oh, we're in for a little treat.
00:58:38And then rigor mortis sort of set in.
00:58:41Darling, unfortunately, you do need in this dance
00:58:44to use the floor a lot, lot more and dance the whole thing
00:58:49or try to dance the whole thing on one level.
00:58:51That's really important in this dance.
00:58:53Also, your Y frame, that should be like this,
00:58:57is an A frame at the moment, which is Argentine tango.
00:59:01So they're just a bit confused.
00:59:02But I, like Helen, think you do have potential as well.
00:59:07And that's not just because of those fabulous biceps.
00:59:12What do you mean?
00:59:14Ma, to kind of put all this together.
00:59:17When Phil Burton won last year, it's because he had a wonderful way
00:59:21of being able to dance his body with his partner.
00:59:25You have that as well.
00:59:27You have an awareness of where Lily is,
00:59:29which means you don't always fall away from her.
00:59:31What you don't have is side stretch and body frame maintenance.
00:59:36Had you done that, you'd have been fabulous tonight.
00:59:40So it will cost you because it takes away from this powerful look of tango.
00:59:45But we all see the potential.
00:59:46You've got hard work to do.
00:59:47Thank you.
00:59:49Thank you, Mark.
00:59:50Did you expect that tonight?
00:59:52Hayden, I get the feeling that you didn't expect that, those positive comments.
00:59:56No, I was coming in pretty negative, actually.
00:59:59I was a little bit worried about how we were going in the lead up.
01:00:02But it's so kind to hear some of those nice words.
01:00:04Well, we'll see how you go with the scores because, you know,
01:00:08they're a little unpredictable, these judges.
01:00:10But why don't you guys scoot on upstairs to Chris
01:00:13and we will take a look back at this amazing tango
01:00:18by Hayden Grimm and his partner, Lily Cornish.
01:00:23That's got to feel good, right?
01:00:24It feels good to get it done.
01:00:25My gosh.
01:00:26Finally.
01:00:28Out and done.
01:00:29Can never listen to that song again.
01:00:30Yeah.
01:00:32Interesting way to start the routine, coming out of coffins.
01:00:35It was lovely of Craig to lend you his dressing room
01:00:37for the start of that routine there.
01:00:42But it is time for the judges' scores.
01:00:45Will the judges please reveal their scores?
01:00:48Craig Revel Horwood.
01:00:50Four.
01:00:51Helen Ritchie.
01:00:53Six.
01:00:55Shana Burgess.
01:00:57Six.
01:00:58Mark Wilson.
01:00:59You have more talent, but four.
01:01:03From you two?
01:01:05Well, there we go.
01:01:06A total of 20.
01:01:08It's a good start.
01:01:08It's a nice, even number.
01:01:10It is.
01:01:11Say nothing but the fact it's a nice, even number.
01:01:13I like that.
01:01:14Now, importantly, with Helen's comments about your skeleton,
01:01:18we've had some movement on the most important leaderboard of all,
01:01:22the Helen's flirty board.
01:01:27Now, with those comments, it looks like you, Hayden,
01:01:29have knocked me out of the top three.
01:01:31Um, Jane's still on top with three flirts so far.
01:01:37So good.
01:01:37Back to you, Sonia.
01:01:39Thank you very much, Chris.
01:01:40I told you they were unpredictable, Hayden.
01:01:42Now, when we come back, brown low medal winner Shane Crawford
01:01:46will be aiming to kick some goals with his partner, Ashley.
01:01:50So stick around.
01:02:02Are you ready for your final dance of the night?
01:02:07Well, they say you should save the best till last.
01:02:10But we decided to go with this guy.
01:02:12Please welcome Shane Crawford and his partner, Ashley Hunter.
01:02:21My name is Shane Crawford.
01:02:22You might know me from the TV show, The Big Bang Theory.
01:02:25I'm a professional basketball player.
01:02:27I've been playing basketball for a long time.
01:02:29My name is Shane Crawford.
01:02:30You might know me from the AFL world.
01:02:32I used to play with the Hawthorne Football Club.
01:02:35I've played 305 AFL games.
01:02:38The career highlight for me was winning a premiership.
01:02:41I like dancing, although I'm a bit of a daggy dancer these days.
01:02:46My dance partner is Ashley Hunter.
01:02:48I did win it last time.
01:02:51I'd love to do it again.
01:02:53You're going to put in 110%?
01:02:54Yeah, 110%.
01:02:56And then if it doesn't work, I just blame you.
01:02:59So our first dance is the cha-cha-cha.
01:03:08It's a Latin dance.
01:03:09So, you know, we're going to be using the hips.
01:03:11Oh, no.
01:03:12Oh, no.
01:03:12I'm an old man these days.
01:03:14You ready?
01:03:15No.
01:03:16Yeah, come on.
01:03:17Come on.
01:03:18I was going to leave you hanging.
01:03:19I've got to squeeze my foot in to that.
01:03:21Oh, truth.
01:03:25Oh, I look ridiculous, don't I?
01:03:27Okay.
01:03:27Okay.
01:03:28Let's dance.
01:03:31Step, step, step.
01:03:32Good.
01:03:33Shane's picking up the steps quite quickly.
01:03:35We still obviously need to work on the technique.
01:03:37I do want to introduce a lift into the routine.
01:03:40When you say lift, what do you mean, like a lift?
01:03:43It's definitely a high risk, high reward.
01:03:46So I go from here to here on your neck.
01:03:54How do you get there?
01:03:59I can't keep my other arm.
01:04:02I'm pretty sure it's in my contract that I'm old and I can't lift anything.
01:04:09If we don't get that timing and technique right,
01:04:12it could just throw everything out of the window.
01:04:14So much to take in.
01:04:16My brain's gone.
01:04:17My feet aren't going in the direction they need to.
01:04:19I can't believe I've agreed to do this.
01:04:21Dancing the cha-cha-cha with his partner, Ashley Hunter.
01:04:29It's Shane Crawford.
01:04:51If it feels right then from my heart
01:04:55If you feel like you can take me away
01:04:58And make it okay
01:05:00I swear I'll behave
01:05:03And if you feel like it baby
01:05:06Tear me by the tongue and I'll know you
01:05:10Kiss me till you're drunk and I'll show you
01:05:12All the moves like Jagger
01:05:14I got the moves like Jagger
01:05:16I got the moves like Jagger
01:05:21You wanna know how to make me smile
01:05:25Take control of me just for the night
01:05:29I never share my secret
01:05:31But I have to keep it
01:05:32Without you I can't see this
01:05:36And if you feel like it baby
01:05:38Tear me by the tongue and I'll know you
01:05:42Look into my eyes and I'll own you
01:05:45All the moves like Jagger
01:05:46I got the moves like Jagger
01:05:48I got the moves like Jagger
01:06:18So the crowd was amazing but you were nervous?
01:06:22Crapping my dicks
01:06:24Why?
01:06:25Why not?
01:06:28You just want to do as well as you possibly can
01:06:30You want to honour your partner
01:06:33But hey, this is the best, so much fun
01:06:36Yeah, yeah
01:06:37We can tell you had a good time
01:06:40And your partner Ashley won last year with Phil Burton
01:06:44Although I did notice she needed to work on her feet a bit then
01:06:49No, she's a star, a wonderful teacher
01:06:52Should we get some judges?
01:06:54Don't worry about that
01:06:54Okay
01:06:56What do you want to do?
01:06:57Let's dance
01:06:59No, we better get the judges' comments
01:07:01Helen
01:07:01Yeah, you're not going on the list until you're better looking
01:07:08You're my favourite
01:07:09Come on Helen, I saw you googling pictures and shagging
01:07:13Now listen, I have an issue with you
01:07:15Okay
01:07:15Okay, here we go
01:07:17In your video package you said you were too old two or three times
01:07:21You are not old, I am old
01:07:23No
01:07:24So now, when I first started doing this show 20 odd years ago
01:07:28I was old enough to be everybody's mother
01:07:31And now I'm old enough to be everybody's grandmother
01:07:34Oh, what a great grandma you'd be
01:07:36Hey see, I'm sucking right up to you
01:07:39You can go on the list sweetheart
01:07:41Yes, thank you very much
01:07:42So look, you're a character, you have always been a character
01:07:45You have always been a naughty boy
01:07:47And that's part of your charm
01:07:49I mean, I kill myself laughing for all the right reasons
01:07:52Oh good
01:07:56Yeah, look, you've got work to do like everybody else
01:07:58But it was great, I loved it Shane, thank you
01:08:01Thank you Helen
01:08:04Craig
01:08:05You're also my favourite, Craig
01:08:10It really was more stagger than jagger, I'm afraid
01:08:13Um, and all your best bits were nothing to do with the char, char, char sadly
01:08:20A technical disaster, I would actually say
01:08:25But, I say but, because there was a bit I absolutely loved
01:08:30And that was your flash dance ending, darling
01:08:33I thought that was absolutely brilliant
01:08:35You are a showman and keep doing that
01:08:39Thank you, Craig
01:08:40Mark
01:08:41Mate, entertainment, 10 out of 10
01:08:44Like just, you bring it every time
01:08:47I just loved it
01:08:48There was no straight legs in this dance
01:08:51There were times when you just kind of danced off doing your own thing
01:08:53But who cares
01:08:54You bring joy to entertainment
01:08:56Two AFL legends here dancing, Ben and you
01:09:00I just love what you did tonight
01:09:01Well done
01:09:04Thank you Mark
01:09:05Shanna
01:09:06Shane, I mean I can see why they saved you till last
01:09:09And because that was my favourite performance of the whole freaking night
01:09:17We're gonna say lots of things about technical stuff through the season to all of you
01:09:21But what you bring to the floor is unreal
01:09:25I am so glad you agreed to do this show because you are so much fun
01:09:29And watching you is an absolute joy
01:09:35As Mark said, there were no straight legs there were meant to be
01:09:37There was pretty much all heel leans
01:09:40There wasn't meant to be
01:09:42But you did some stellar partner work in there, my friend
01:09:46You took care of Ashley
01:09:47That lift was flawless
01:09:53There's something
01:09:54You did a cracking job
01:09:56You're my favourite now
01:09:59You're my favourite, well done
01:10:04Just kidding, I'm just kidding
01:10:07Is it true you've never ever been injured at all in your footy career?
01:10:11That's not true
01:10:12It's not true?
01:10:12No, I'm still in one piece
01:10:14I reckon I've got more injuries dancing over the last few weeks
01:10:18Than you ever did in footy
01:10:19Ash charges at you
01:10:21Harder than some of the players you're to tackle
01:10:23She goes hard at it
01:10:24Especially those Collingwood players
01:10:27Oh, disastrous
01:10:29Head on up to the members box with Chris
01:10:31Thank you
01:10:32While we take a little look back at Shea Crawford
01:10:36Moving like Jagger in his cha-cha-cha
01:10:40So good
01:10:48Wow, wow, wow
01:10:50How about that?
01:10:51Oh my goodness
01:10:52Crawford, are you meant to have that much fun?
01:10:55I don't, yes
01:10:56No, you are
01:10:58The reason I came on the show
01:11:00Was first to get a good costume and they gave me the overalls
01:11:02But then after that, I wanted to be challenged
01:11:06But my whole philosophy is I'm just going to go and have fun
01:11:09And I just want to dance like I'm having the time of my life
01:11:12And I did, I had the time of my life
01:11:13Yeah, and that's great
01:11:16No straight legs
01:11:17No, no, it was noted
01:11:19But Ashley, how do you handle this level of joy?
01:11:22It's amazing
01:11:23His energy and he just gives me inspiration
01:11:26To come up with amazing like concepts and choreography
01:11:29It's just, he's just a joy to work with
01:11:30And we have such a laugh
01:11:32He definitely doesn't talk like that to me in the dance class
01:11:35That's what you need sometimes, you need some Rainie Incroft
01:11:38All right, let's have a look at the judges' scores
01:11:41The judges' scores are in
01:11:43Craig Revel Horwood
01:11:45Two
01:11:47Helen Ritchie
01:11:49Oh, seven
01:11:51Shana Burgess
01:11:54Yes
01:11:55Mark Wilson
01:11:56Seven
01:12:01The consensus is we're happy with that, 22
01:12:03Was that a two?
01:12:0522 all together, that's great
01:12:06Was that a two?
01:12:08Right
01:12:09It was a two, it wasn't
01:12:10It's on, it's on right now
01:12:11We're gonna, I'm gonna take him on
01:12:13It was a two
01:12:14Was it a two?
01:12:14It was, but look, importantly, with Helen's comments
01:12:19Oh yes, I've hit the leaderboard
01:12:20The top of the flirty board, well done
01:12:25To the other leaderboard though
01:12:26Let's have a look at the final leaderboard for the night
01:12:29And on top, Sam and Gustavo with 31
01:12:34Then we have Shane and Ashley, you got 22
01:12:36Yeah, happy with that
01:12:38And in sixth place, Vivian, Nova and Craig on 19
01:12:43Back to you, Sonia
01:12:44Thank you, Chris
01:12:45What an absolute cracker of a night
01:12:47It would be rude not to have a quick look back at how everyone did
01:12:51Check this out
01:12:52Samantha Jade kicked us off with a captivating quick step
01:13:01Adam Doval raised the roof with his jive
01:13:11Nova floated around the floor with her Viennese Waltz
01:13:19Nikki charmed us with her cha-cha
01:13:22And when the night falls, my only heart calls
01:13:33Hayden terrified with his tango
01:13:41And Shane Crawford, mood like Jagger, with his cha-cha-cha
01:13:52Oh my gosh
01:13:53Yeah
01:13:54Tonight was just fully spectacular, wasn't it?
01:13:57All of our couples brought their A game
01:13:59They can rest a little easier because now the spotlight falls back
01:14:02to our first group of celebrities sitting over there, Chris
01:14:05Oh yes
01:14:05And is it just me or are they starting to sweat a little?
01:14:09Could also be the synthetic fibres, I think, Sonia
01:14:11Oh yes, yes
01:14:11Going on
01:14:12Look, if their first performance is anything to go by
01:14:14I think we're going to be guaranteed some pretty fierce competition
01:14:17And next time will be our first elimination
01:14:21That's right, one couple will be leaving Dancing with the Stars next week
01:14:25So the pressure is on for all of them
01:14:28You definitely don't want to miss it
01:14:29Absolutely not
01:14:30Did you have fun?
01:14:32Good, well make sure you join us next week
01:14:34And until then, goodnight Australia
01:14:43I'll tell you what, I'm putting in a protest to the judges
01:14:46Because two...
01:14:50The good thing is, it's out of the way now
01:14:53And...
01:14:53First one's done
01:14:54It's done
01:14:54We can move on from here
01:14:55Yeah
01:14:57Definitely can't wait to come back and do it again next time
