00:00Laura, we heard you talk a little bit about your character earlier and how this dress
00:07matches the motif of your character.
00:08Tell us a little bit more about that.
00:10Yeah, so my character is Skyla.
00:12She's a very prissy, uppity, very into her clothes and how she presents herself.
00:17All of her outfits definitely match her personality.
00:20So when I was picking out my outfit for the event, I really wanted to try and channel
00:23my inner Skyla energy.
00:26Just be that glam girl for the night.
00:28So you look beautiful, super glam.
00:31We want to know how competitive is the dance world truly?
00:34Does this movie accurately reflect that competitiveness?
00:37I would say so.
00:38I grew up dancing.
00:39I did competition dance as a child and I had to stop eventually, obviously, but it is a
00:44very competitive world between your studio and your friends and the moms and everything.
00:51It's all super, super competitive and there's always like rivalries forming even if you
00:55don't know about it.
00:57So Skyla kind of brings Lex in and she's like, yeah, you could be on my team, but don't be
01:01better than me.
01:03And then everything unfolds and you guys will see that when you watch the movie, but it's
01:06definitely a very competitive world.
01:08Well, aside from the world of competitive dance, dance is such a popular trend right
01:13now.
01:14I mean, with all the TikTok dances and everything on social media, do you have a favorite trend?
01:19Favorite trend?
01:20Oh my gosh, my TikTok page is so incredibly weird.
01:24I just keep seeing like spinning like animals and stuff.
01:29I have this one guy that like climbs his wall right now and then he has like these long
01:34nails and he does like this little dance.
01:36It was to the Ahsoka trend originally, like the makeup trend.
01:39That was one of my favorite trends.
01:40I watched every single one of those religiously and then he kind of made his own version of
01:45it and made his own trend.
01:46So I think those are some of my favorite trend videos right now.
01:50Are we going to be seeing you doing any wall climbing anytime soon?
01:53Oh God, no.
01:54No, I can still barely keep my hips moving dance-wise.
01:58All right, a little bit of a letdown, but that's okay.
02:01We're going to give you a pass.
02:02One more question for you.
02:04What do you hope the audiences are going to take away after watching Dance Rivals?
02:07Honestly, friends and family is a really, really big root of the movie.
02:12The relationship that Lex has with her mother and her sister and even the relationship she
02:16makes like being a new girl coming to a new town is a really beautiful thing.
02:20And Skyler goes through a lot of relationship, like hard times and everything within the
02:23film.
02:24So I think having your friends and your family there for you no matter what is like a really,
02:27really big core moment in the movie.
02:29Well, we can't wait to see everything that your character goes through and congratulations
02:33on your premiere tonight.
02:34Thank you so much.
02:35It was so nice talking with you guys.
02:36Thank you.
