8. **"Spider-Man 3" (2007) - Eddie Brock/Venom**
Eddie Brock’s desire for power through the Venom symbiote leads to his own destruction when he is consumed by the very entity that granted him power.

9. **"The Incredibles" (2004) - Syndrome**

10. **"The Matrix" (1999) - Agent Smith**

00:27For this list, we'll be looking at the times antagonists could have claimed victory
00:31if they'd focused less on talk and more on action.
00:34Since we'll be looking at how villains lost, beware of spoilers ahead.

00:58Too angry, I'm getting, getting too deep
01:04Number 10. Nathan Jessup just testifies too much.
01:08A Few Good Men
01:09I want you to acknowledge that the judge-advocate has made you aware of the possible consequences
01:13involved in accusing a Marine officer of a felony without proper evidence.
01:17I've been so advised.
01:19Lieutenant Caffey spends the film trying to get to the bottom of why a Marine named
01:23William Santiago lost his life while serving at Guantanamo Bay.
01:27His investigation eventually leads him to question the base commander, Colonel Jessup,
01:31in a courtroom. But after Caffey gets a little carried away,
01:34the judge says that Jessup doesn't have to answer any more questions.
01:38However, the colonel keeps talking.
01:40You don't have to answer that question.
01:42I'll answer the question.
01:44You want answers?
01:45I think I'm entitled to them.
01:46You want answers!
01:47I want the truth!
01:48You can't handle the truth!
01:50After giving an intimidating monologue, Caffey gets Jessup to reveal the truth.
01:55The colonel's orders led to Santiago's demise.
01:58Did you order the code red?
01:59I did the job!
02:00Did you order the code red?
02:01You're goddamn right I did!
02:03The incredible acting and dialogue in this scene nearly make us forget that Jessup might
02:07have gotten away with a crime if he just pleaded the fifth in court.
02:11What the hell is this?
02:12Colonel Jessup, you have the right to remain silent.
02:14I'm being charged with a crime?
02:17Is that what this is?
02:199.
02:20Count Tyrone Rugen ruins his victory.
02:22The Princess Bride
02:24I will go up to the six-fingered man and say,
02:27Hello.
02:29My name is Inigo Montoya.
02:32You killed my father.
02:35Prepare to die.
02:37When Inigo Montoya arrives at the castle, he doesn't plan to show the cruel Count Rugen
02:41any mercy.
02:42The villain took the life of Inigo's father.
02:45Once Count Rugen faces the man he orphaned, he quickly runs.
02:48This cowardly move allows him to strategically hide and severely wound Inigo.
02:53But instead of finishing the swordsman off, Rugen decides it would be a good time to gloat.
02:58You must be that little Spanish brat I taught a lesson to all those years ago.
03:03Simply incredible.
03:05Have you been chasing me your whole life?
03:08His sadistic speech goes on so long that Inigo has enough time to recover and deal the fatal
03:13blow.
03:14If Rugen had cut the conversation short and wounded his foe again, he might have triumphed.
03:19Unfortunately for him, he couldn't talk Inigo out of getting revenge.
03:22Now that it's over, I don't know what to do with the rest of my life.
03:27The Operative's Oratory Sin, Serenity
03:30Do you know what your sin is, Doctor?
03:34It's pride.
03:36The Operative is an extremely efficient and well-spoken assassin.
03:40While he's good with a sword, his most useful technique allows him to paralyze someone
03:44by hitting their back in a specific spot.
03:46But he may have been too reliant on that move.
03:49When the Operative tries to stop Captain Mal Reynolds from releasing information to the
03:53public, the two come to blows.
03:55The fight is even for a while.
03:57As soon as the Operative gets an opening, he uses the paralyzing technique on Mal.
04:01I'm sorry.
04:05You should know there's no shame in this.
04:07Thinking he's already won, he monologues so much that he fails to notice his opponent
04:12can still move.
04:13This chatty error gives Mal the chance to turn the fight around and give the Operative
04:17a taste of his own medicine.
04:19I'm sorry about the throat, but I want to see your famous last words right now.
04:24Clove Can't Stop Chatting, The Hunger Games
04:28Tell her, Kato!
04:30I'm coming for you!
04:32There's absolutely no time for small talk when you're thrown into a violent battle
04:36royale that can only have one winner.
04:39Unless you're Clove, apparently.
04:41During The Hunger Games, she manages to ambush fan-favorite contestant Katniss.
04:45After a short struggle, Clove is able to hold Katniss at knife point.
04:49Although Clove could have put the girl on fire out instantly, she decides to brag about
04:54the time she helped end the life of a little girl named Rue.
04:57It's too bad that you couldn't help your little friend.
05:00That little girl, what was her name again?
05:03Rue?
05:05Unbeknownst to anyone, Rue's ally Thresh was nearby, and a little unhappy to hear this story.
05:11He quickly and single-handedly dispatches Clove for her crimes.
05:15She ultimately had herself to blame for losing this violent game.
05:18Just this time, Twelve.
05:20For Rue.
05:226. Mayor Bellwether blabs about her plan, Zootopia
05:26We're on the same team, Judy.
05:29Underestimated, underappreciated.
05:33Aren't you sick of it?
05:35A sheep named Dawn Bellwether had one of the most airtight evil plans in Disney history.
05:40After using a special serum to turn certain predator animals in Zootopia into savage beasts,
05:45she framed the lion Mayor and assumed his position.
05:49Once in power, Bellwether would be free to continue the conspiracy for her benefit.
05:53But what ruined this sinister plot?
05:55Bellwether's big mouth.
05:57Near the end of the film, she corners a rabbit officer named Judy Hopps and her fox friend Nick.
06:02After Bellwether becomes convinced Nick went savage, she details her evil plan.
06:07So that's it? Prey fears predator and you stay in power?
06:11Yeah, pretty much.
06:13It won't work.
06:14Fear always works.
06:17Unfortunately for the sheep, Judy records every step of the heinous plot.
06:21It's my word against yours.
06:23Ooh.
06:24Actually, and I'll dart every predator in Zootopia to keep it that way.
06:29It's your word against yours.
06:31Bellwether can only baa helplessly as her evil plan is unraveled by her own words.
06:36Number 5.
06:37Allura's arrogant speeches.
06:39Van Helsing.
06:40Do you like to fly, Anna?
06:44While Allura's vampiric abilities gave her plenty of advantages in battle,
06:48she had one fatal flaw.
06:50She liked playing with her food too much.
06:52Allura missed several opportunities to feast on her opponents
06:55because she wanted to tease them a little bit more.
06:58This comes back to bite her when she fights Anna one-on-one.
07:01When Allura has her prey seemingly cornered with nowhere to go,
07:04she decides to taunt her opponent one last time.
07:07Anna, my love, it is your blood that shall keep me beautiful.
07:13What do you think of that?
07:15This gave Anna just enough time to grab a stake from her ally Carl
07:19and end the vampire once and for all.
07:21We would make fun of Allura more, but Anna honestly said it best.
07:25I think if you're going to kill someone, kill them.
07:28Don't stand there talking about it.
07:31Number 4.
07:32Ronan runs his mouth.
07:34Guardians of the Galaxy.
07:35I promised Thanos I would retrieve the orb for him.
07:39Only then will he destroy Xandar for me.
07:42Nebula, go to Xandar and get me the orb.
07:46We knew two things about Ronan the Accuser right away.
07:49He loves dramatic speeches,
07:51and he really, really, really wants to destroy the planet Xandar.
07:55After Ronan acquires the Power Stone,
07:57he gains the ability to accomplish his destructive dream.
08:00All he has to do is touch his hammer to the planet to win.
08:03But before Ronan can accomplish this incredibly simple and easy task,
08:07he feels the need to give a speech.
08:09Behold, your Guardians of the Galaxy.
08:15What fruits have they wrought?
08:18His long monologue gave Star-Lord enough time to come up with a distraction
08:22that Drax and Rocket used to blow up the hammer.
08:25At least Ronan did one thing right that day.
08:27He made the Guardians of the Galaxy nickname sound cool.
08:30We're the Guardians of the Galaxy.
08:32Number 3.
08:33Scar's silver tongue backfires.
08:36The Lion King.
08:37Long live the King.
08:42Long live the King.
08:48Few villains have accomplished as much as Scar has.
08:51He orchestrated his brother King Mufasa's demise,
08:54forced Prince Simba into hiding,
08:56and became King of the Pride Lands.
08:58The one thing he couldn't do was keep his mouth shut.
09:01When Simba returns to the Pride Lands to reclaim the throne,
09:05Scar turns the Pride against the Prince.
09:07But before landing a fatal blow,
09:09the villain decides to confess the truth about how his brother met his end.
09:13And here's my little secret.
09:17I killed Mufasa.
09:20The confession energizes Simba enough to fight back
09:23and get the entire Pride on his side again.
09:26And when Scar tries to deflect all the blame to the hyenas,
09:29It's the hyenas who are the real enemy.
09:32It was their fault. It was their idea.
09:35the vicious animals make him pay.
09:37Guess that's what the Lion King deserves.
09:40So sorry for that pun.
09:422. Ego exposes his evil deeds.
09:46Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
09:48I continued building from there, layer by layer.
09:52The very planet you walk on now.
09:55Whoa.
09:57But I wanted more.
09:59Although Ego could shape an entire planet to his will,
10:01he wanted to expand his control throughout the universe.
10:04He could only achieve this goal by teaming up with somebody
10:06who could handle a celestial amount of power.
10:09Once Ego discovers his long-lost son Peter Quill was up for it,
10:12the two connected.
10:14They were all set to kick off the expansion until Ego dropped a huge bomb.
10:18He gave Peter's mother the tumor that claimed her life.
10:21It broke my heart to put that tumor in her head.
10:28What?
10:30An enraged Peter immediately attacked his dad
10:32and teamed up with his friends to take the planet down.
10:35We don't know how many centuries Ego was planning his expansion,
10:38but we know for certain that his schemes ended with a very short conversation.
10:42Listen to me!
10:43You are a god.
10:46If you kill me, you'll be just like everybody else.
10:51What's so wrong with that?
10:53No!
10:58Before we unveil our number one pick, here are some honorable mentions.
11:01Buddy Pine, also known as Syndrome, the Incredibles.
11:05He was beaten while he was monologuing.
11:07This isn't the end of it!
11:09I will get your son eventually!
11:11I'll get your son!
11:13Oh, no.
11:26Alec Trevelyan, GoldenEye.
11:28He could have taken down 007 without a word.
11:31You know, James...
11:34I was always better.
11:42Valentine, Kingsman the Secret Service.
11:45He thought the Kingsman wouldn't hear his master plan.
11:48Now I'm gonna tell you my whole plan,
11:50and then I'm gonna come up with some absurd and convoluted way to kill you,
11:54and you'll find an equally convoluted way to escape.
11:58Top Dollar, The Crow.
12:00His long speech gave The Crow a huge opening.
12:03You got a lot of spirit, son.
12:06I am gonna miss you.
12:08I have something to give you.
12:11I don't want it anymore.
12:15Hugo Drax, Moonraker.
12:17He talked himself right into 007's trap.
12:20Jaws.
12:22Expel them.
12:28Jaws, you obey me!
12:32Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel

12:38You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
12:42If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
12:48Number 1.
12:49Elam expires because of exposition.
12:52The good, the bad and the ugly.
12:54I had lots of time to learn how to shoot with my left.
12:58Our top villain could give a detailed lecture on how not to confront your nemesis.
13:02If he had survived, of course.
13:04The antagonistic bounty hunter Elam walked away from a battle with a bandit named Tuco
13:09with one less arm.
13:11So the villain was ecstatic to catch Tuco unaware in the bathtub.
13:15But rather than taking his revenge right away,
13:17Elam decided to savor the moment by gloating and boasting.
13:20Now I find you in exactly the position that suits me.
13:23Tuco took the opportunity to reach for a hidden bathtub gun and take the bounty hunter out.
13:28Elam didn't even have enough time to regret his talkative choice.
13:31The last thing Tuco says to his enemy are words every villain should live by.
13:36When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk.
13:41Do you agree with our picks?
13:42Let us know in the comments.
13:44And hey, if you're a fan of the song playing right now,
13:46be sure to check out the music video for it right here.
13:53I'm getting in too deep.
13:55I'm just getting in too deep.
