00:06As we reported earlier, Spain on Sunday won its fourth UEFA European Championship title
00:11as it beat England 2-1 in the EuroCup 2024 final in the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
00:18Spain and England were tied at nil-nil at halftime after a tense opening 45 minutes
00:23where both teams were defending well.
00:26The Spanish side quickly changed the gear entering the second half as it was quick to
00:30score thanks to an incredible pass from Carvajal to Lamine who delivered a great assist to
00:35Nico Williams for the lead goal.
00:37England would not settle and at the 73rd minute Cole Palmer, who had just entered the pitch
00:42at that moment, scored an amazing goal from outside the box.
00:46The game continued to be evenly disputed yet at the 86th minute Oyarzabal scored the winning
00:51goal and on a close onside goal.
00:56Spain became the nation with the most European title and with its outstanding performance
01:00during this tournament it also became the first team to win all seven matches at the
01:05major tournament.
01:06We are seeing the images of the Spanish supporters celebrating as the team became the European
01:12champion of this UEFA EuroCup 2024 and as we say has been a record for Spain as it becomes
01:19the team with the most victories in this continental tournament.
01:23There was an amazing play at the 90s to make things even more exciting and at the 90 minutes
01:29in a corner kick from Palmer it was hit by a header by Reizes and it was pushed away
01:34by the Spanish goalkeeper Unagi Simon but that push away was then followed up with Gueye's
01:41head up but it was cleared in front of the line by Olmo and then Reizes hit it again
01:45on a second effort but went over the bar which was a very close call for the English team
01:51to equalize the game and send it to extra time but they were not able to do so.
01:56So going over a brief summary, Oriazabal as we were saying gave La Roja the 2-1 victory
02:02over England and it entered as a substitute on the second half on the pitch and the Spanish
02:08were crowned European champions for a record-breaking fourth time.
02:13During the first half it was a very disputed match as we were saying both teams were assessing
02:17the weakness of their rivals, they were respecting their rivals.
02:21The young players, the young stars from the Spanish team, both Lamine Jamal and Nico Williams
02:26were more careful in their sprints taking care of not leaving their backs without protection
02:34and Carvajal as he has done all over the season really displayed an amazing play both in offense
02:41and in defense.
02:42It was actually Carvajal's offensive play in the second half that the Spanish team began
02:47to have a different face, the face that they had over the tournament of a very quick vertical
02:52team that would go very quickly to the offensive and score goals but also very quick to withdraw
02:59and be able to defend all the push from the English team.
03:03These images that we're seeing right now, these are live images that we're getting from
03:07Germany as fans from both teams are leaving the stadium after an amazing final that was
03:13disputed roughly two hours ago at this Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
03:17Over 70,000 people were on the stands seeing and enjoying the great European football.
03:25Unfortunately for England with this match that was just played, England became the first
03:30nation in UEFA European Championship history to lose consecutive finals.
03:35We must remember that the last Euro Cup that was played four years ago, Italy won the final
03:42that was played in England.
03:44England was the home team and was defeated in the final against Italy and with this final
03:50that was played today, it's the only team in European tournament that has been defeated
03:56twice in consecutive finals.
03:59As we were saying, Spain won all seven matches delivering a perfect performance leaving their
04:04fans very happy.
