00:00So as we're seeing, the parade is featuring the Olympic torch there and being carried by
00:05Colonel Tybalt Vallette right there. Well I'm joined in the studio by Lieutenant-Colonel Lucille,
00:13thank you so much for joining me again. You've been with me throughout the morning
00:16breaking down events for us at the Avenue Foch. Tell us what's going on right now.
00:22We can see on the screen what we call the Cadre Noir de Saumur, which are riders, horsemen,
00:30the elite of the horsemen of the armed forces. They represent the art of the
00:38equestrian heart of France and Colonel Tybalt Vallette, who is the chief horseman of the Cadre
00:45Noir, was a gold medalist in the games of Rio de Janeiro and he is carrying the flame and he will
00:58pass the flame to the young athlete of the department Saint-Saint-Denis of France. So
01:08we will have a demonstration, equestrian demonstration for the president of the
01:14Cadre Noir with the music of the Fire Brigade of Paris.
01:25It's a real demonstration of what the French equestrian art is. It's very nice and very well
01:34recognized all around the world and it's a true link between the forces and the Olympic game
01:46between the nation and the army. It shows that the armed forces and the sport world share the
01:58same values of exigence, control, and to do all the things in the right way with a very strict
02:14framework. And on the back we can see some young people belonging to state programs
02:25as Cadets de la Gendarmerie, the youth of the air and space forces, the universal
02:35national service. And they are in the color of the ring of the Olympic games
02:43and after the demonstration they will form all the rings of the Olympics on another
02:54exhibition. Yeah of course the Olympics are going to be a big theme during this military parade,
03:03they are a big theme, they have been a big theme. We've just 12 days to go now until the start
03:10of the games. Lieutenant-Colonel Lucille, tell us do you feel that Paris is ready
03:16in terms of security to host the biggest show on earth?
03:22It's a question that normally is not in my
03:29spectrum but I think yes because the security forces are all involved in the security of Paris
03:39and the armed forces are here to support the security forces. For example I can tell you that
03:46for the first day of the opening of the Olympic games we will be involved also in securing the
03:54nautical place for the boat on which all the athletes will do the parade on the Seine. So we
04:02will secure it under the water, on the air and on the ground. So Paris' security is ready
04:12because we are used in France to host different games as the last one was the
04:20world championship of rugby in different cities in France.
04:28So we're seeing Colonel Thibaut Vallette taking the Olympic flame on a beautiful horse I have to say
04:37and he will be handing that over to President Emmanuel Macron in just a little while.
04:46I was quite impressed by those horse formations a few minutes ago, they're amazing.
04:52Yes they are very well known and they are very good. I mean I think that they are
05:03the experts of the equestrian heart and they do a lot of demonstrations not only in France
05:10but also in different places in the world. So if you want to go to an exhibition you have to
05:17go to Saumur because they are localized in Saumur in west of France and they have very
05:24beautiful horses and they do very very spectacular shows with horses.
05:33So the young people are young people from 12 to 30 years old doing some military activities
05:44as reservists or cadets de la défense, cadets de la gendarmerie. It's another link between the nation,
05:57the youth and the armed forces because you know that armed forces we are very
06:04we need the youth of nation, we need young people and it's important for nations that
06:11young people are aware of what our armed forces are, at what the nation is and what they can do
06:18for the nation. So now they are forming the olympic rings with the colors of the rings
06:26the blue, yellow, black, green and red and there is music performed by the Paris fire brigade
06:38and the young people in white what we can see are some sportives, some young athletes from
06:46Saint-Saint-Denis, some people involved in sport in their department and they will receive the flame,
06:54the olympic flame from Colonel Vallette and it's the first, it's the arrival of the flame
07:02in the region Ile-de-France. It's of course the region where we're in at the moment because
07:10Paris is the capital or I should say the center of Ile-de-France here in France.
