Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of the National Union of the Teaching Profession on Saturday (July 13), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) will be one of the best ever announced by the government and hopes it would improve the services of civil servants and stop bad practices.

00:00So that's why this scheme that I will announce in a short time and end the tourist season
00:17is certainly something that I consider the best that has ever been announced in our country.
00:27What I really hope for is a good scheme for the service of the senior citizens,
00:35who are forced to wait for hours at government offices, whether regional, immigration, or JPG offices,
00:43as best as possible to stop this practice.
00:47Work as best as possible.
00:50That goes for teachers as well. I ask the NUTP to record the work and performance of the students,
00:57and spread the same spirit to all teachers.
01:01Because this is a small group of mine that is a bit weak. Let's correct it.
01:07And then, accept the fact that there needs to be a change.
01:12I want to raise the issue of this service scheme.
01:16This is a big scheme, worth more than Rp10 billion for a year.
01:29And I hope that with this change, there will be changes as well.
01:35This means that as long as we launch this programme,
01:40and in general, for this year's implementation as well,
01:45on December 1, I see that the need for education, the need for service,
01:50by itself, there will be changes.
01:53So that is my hope.
01:55The JPA, as well as the work of the senior citizens,
01:59I said, let's look for a way. I don't want a single field to be left behind.
02:04Let's look for a way.
02:06He said, that's enough. I said, no.
02:08I don't want to hear, that's enough.
02:10Let's look for a way.
02:12Where? Who complained? How is the situation?
02:15What are the sacrifices that we have made?
02:17We have made.
02:19It's okay. I happen to be the Minister of Finance.
02:22I'll look for a way.
02:24I won't say there's a lot of debt, a lot of deficit.
02:27I'm worried.
02:29Because it will burden the country.
02:32But I said, if I become a teacher,
02:3512 years of no change scheme,
02:38it's true that I can be patient and sacrifice.
02:42But I'm not the one who stole the money.
02:47I'm not the one who caused this country to have so much debt.
02:50I'm not the one who took a commission of tens of billions.
02:53I'm not the one who built houses in Australia, in London, in America.
02:56It's not me.
02:58So, don't burden me.
03:00I accept the accusation.
03:02So, this public service implementation scheme,
03:05there are two critical sides.
03:07There are those who say, no, it's not practical.
03:10They want it to be popular.
03:12So, even though there's no money, they want to increase it.
03:14And the increase is big.
03:17The other side says, it's impossible to happen.
03:20What?
03:22Is it disturbing our view, Mr. Wanda Alan?
03:25It's not disturbing.
03:27In the next two weeks, we'll have another meeting.
03:30I want to make sure that the public service implementation scheme,
03:34as good as possible,
03:36all those groups can be improved and filled.
