00:00Heads down and hoods up, Oscar Jagu and Hugo Orodo were escorted by police into a convoy
00:06that took them from Buenos Aires to Mendoza.
00:09The two French rugby players are to be brought before the courts for the first time on Friday
00:14after they were accused of raping and savagely beating a woman last weekend.
00:19On Saturday 6th of July, after the French rugby team had won a match against Argentina,
00:24they celebrated their victory at a bar in Mendoza.
00:28By around 4.30am, the pair had invited the victim to their hotel
00:32and that's where the player, identified as Orodo,
00:35allegedly raped her up to six times, according to her lawyer.
00:41He threw her on the bed and punched her in the eye, then the face.
00:46He began to asphyxiate her, according to her account.
00:50She has blows all over her body.
00:53Her lawyer said Jugo entered the room and joined in once.
00:58The complainant allegedly tried to leave several times before finally getting out.
01:03This was a key moment for the player's lawyer,
01:05who says that the surveillance cameras show there was no visual evidence of violence.
01:12We'll be bringing several of the testimonials and surveillance footage to the court.
01:19There are no signs of violence on her face.
01:23The woman filed a complaint at 7.50pm the same day.
01:27The two rugby players have maintained their innocence, saying their relations were consensual.
01:33Now the courts will decide whether or not to keep them in pre-trial detention.
01:37If found guilty, they could face up to 20 years in prison.
