00:00U.S. President Joe Biden says he has no good reason to talk to Vladimir Putin right now.
00:08Speaking at a highly anticipated press conference at the end of the NATO summit in Washington,
00:14Biden said Putin is not prepared to change his behavior.
00:18And she two or three years from that, I understand the generic point is, is Putin ready to talk?
00:24I'm not ready to talk to Putin unless Putin is ready to change his behavior. And the idea,
00:31look, Putin's got a problem. First of all, in this war that he is supposedly have won.
00:43Biden used the press conference to deliver a forceful defense of his foreign and domestic
00:48policies and dismissed questions about his ability to serve another term in office.
00:54There have been concerns about his health since his stumbling performance in a presidential
00:59debate opposite Donald Trump last month. But Biden insists he's staying in the race and
01:04said that he has the full support of his European counterparts.
01:08I've not had any of my European allies come up to me and say, Joe, don't run. What I hear
01:18them say is, you've got to win. You can't let this guy come forward. You'd be a disaster.
01:26You'd be a disaster.
01:29Prior to the press conference, Biden announced a new compact that would bring together NATO
01:34countries to support Ukraine.
01:38Last year at the NATO summit in Vilnius, we took a very strong step with a G7 declaration
01:47on security for Ukraine, for Ukrainian people. And we did not waste time. And now we have
01:54a solid architecture of security guarantees.
01:59But after introducing the compact, Biden introduced Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky as President
02:05Putin to audible gasps in the room.
02:08Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin. President Putin. He's a big President Putin. President
02:14Zelensky.
02:17French President Emmanuel Macron came to Biden's defense praising his depth of field on international
02:22issues.
02:23We all make mistakes. It happened to me. It will happen to me tomorrow. I would ask you
02:30for the same indulgence that you should have between benevolent people.
02:36Macron also referred to Biden as an experienced man.
