00:00The weather in Lahore changes a lot. Sometimes it's cold, sometimes it's hot, sometimes it rains.
00:06Oh wow! Such a beautiful lawn. I think our star is somewhere around here. Let's go, Jivy.
00:19I think she must be here. Let's wait.
00:25Hello, Kubra Khan. How are you?
00:27Thank you. How are you?
00:29I am absolutely fine. First of all, tell me who is your best friend in the industry?
00:35My best friend in the industry? It's Mirza Gauhar. He's always been my best friend for the past 9 years now, I think.
00:43Within the industry, he's my best friend.
00:45What's your most interesting story with him?
00:48Honestly, in the past 9 years, we've shared all kinds of ups and downs.
00:54But something funny that happened years ago, I got interested in making slime.
00:58I was like, let's make slime at home.
01:00So I made it. He came over and was like, look I made slime.
01:04Oh! And he put it in my hair. Would it stick? And I was like, it stuck.
01:08And literally, the slime did not come out of my hair for the longest time.
01:12So did you have to get a haircut?
01:13No, no, no. I washed it 5-6 times, put oil on it, and it came out.
01:18And he was like, oh! I was like, what?
01:21That's funny but also scary.
01:23Yes, very scary.
01:25We advise people not to put slime in their hair.
01:27Please don't put it in your hair.
01:29Okay, TV dramas and films, what do you prefer more?
01:32Film. I like the grandeur of it. I think it's a lot of fun, generally speaking, to be honest.
01:38There's an experience, there's unity in the team.
01:43Everybody's on set at the same time.
01:45Everyone is trying to make one thing better.
01:49So I think that's a very fun experience.
01:51Just the unity part of it, I think I love.
01:53A lot of people in the industry say that you're a fun person to be with.
01:58Do you party?
02:00No, I don't even party, funny enough.
02:02I'm not a party person at all. You'll never see me at a party.
02:04I think the only one get-together I go to is at Wajahat Bhai's house, Wajahat Rose.
02:09And that's only because it's a very family environment.
02:12And then again, they are like family as well.
02:16So that's why I go to them. Otherwise, you would never see me at parties.
02:19Can we walk and talk a little?
02:21Sure, that's fine.
02:23I think a lot of people exercise.
02:26But tell me, what's your fitness routine?
02:29If I had a fitness routine, what would it be?
02:31What would it be?
02:33I recently started Pilates, which I'm really happy about.
02:36But it's getting there. Unfortunately, you don't get a chance in the routine of our work.
02:41And by the time you're done with shoots and you're done with the rest of the itinerary for your day,
02:46you're exhausted.
02:48You're exhausted, honestly speaking, by that time.
02:50Talking about routine, when you were in Synthayan, how early did you have to wake up for PMA training?
02:56In reality, we still wake up at 6 o'clock in the morning.
02:59We used to wake up at 6 o'clock.
03:01Because a lot of shoots used to be done before the sun would come here.
03:06But 6 in the morning? Seriously?
03:09Yeah. I mean, there were days when we would start late as well.
03:12But mostly, it was like very early in the morning.
03:14Do you still think the National Anthem is very difficult?
03:17It is difficult, but you get it.
03:19You get it. You've memorized it.
03:21Funny, I knew it then, but my character didn't.
03:25A lot of people can't differentiate between that.
03:29They even asked me, your hair was dyed in a similar way,
03:33and you really don't know the anthem, you really don't know the words.
03:36And I was like, character? Guys, character?
03:40Exactly. I think people can't differentiate because they relate a lot to the character.
03:45Yeah, I know. It makes me happy though. It makes me happy about that.
03:47What was your most memorable performance so far?
03:50Aleph.
03:52I gave my heart and soul to Aleph. Aleph was something.
03:55And also Janat Se Aage. Actually, it was quite a few.
03:58I gave a lot of my energy, a lot of my performances, generally speaking.
04:02But Aleph left an impact, I think, with that drama.
04:06And even with Janat Se Aage as well, I think, for me, I put in a lot of effort.
04:11Because with Janat, I had to be like seven different personalities in one go.
04:16Yeah, so that's why.
04:18By the way, since you talked about Janat Se Aage,
04:20you had a comparatively negative role and you were the morning show host.
04:25Did you ever get a call from a morning show host to complain about what you did?
04:28No one ever called me.
04:30And I have so much respect for all these people, honestly speaking.
04:33Honestly, doing a morning show, generally, I mean, you know, you have to get up at 5 in the morning.
04:38You have to be up every single day on weekdays, like 5 o'clock in the morning.
04:43And then you have to give your energy, give your best.
04:46Your energy can't go down at all.
04:48Because you have to run the show, you're the captain of the ship.
04:51So I have so much respect.
04:52Are you a morning person?
04:54No, I'm a night person. I'm a night owl.
04:57Interesting.
04:59Tell me, how difficult is it to make a place in the industry?
05:02It depends on how hard you want to make a place.
05:06Honestly speaking.
05:08And it depends on how you want to make a place.
05:11Do you want a place in people's hearts?
05:13Do you want a place to work?
05:15I think that makes a lot of difference.
05:17When I first came into the industry, I was confused about that.
05:19But I felt that when I decided that, no, for me, my work is very important.
05:26And if the work is good, I'll get the job.
05:29So you prefer work over anything else.
05:32What's your favourite place to shoot in Pakistan?
05:35It has to be up north. It's never hot there.
05:38And I'm like a Husky, so I can't stand the heat.
05:40I always say that, if you bring a Husky to Pakistan,
05:44if you bring it to Karachi or Lahore, then what will happen?
05:46It will be unfair, right?
05:48For me, it's unfair.
05:50Why would you bring a Polar Bear or a Penguin Husky to Pakistan?
05:53So you don't want it to be up north?
05:55Absolutely, because I can't stand the heat.
05:57And if you bring it to me under the sun, I can't stand the heat.
06:01I get cranky.
06:03If you want to put me in a bad mood, put me in the heat.
06:06Do you have any recent shoot that was up north and was an interesting experience?
06:11We shot in Kashmir for Abhi.
06:14For Abhi?
06:16That was a great experience I had.
06:18Because we did a lot of activities, we had a lot of fun.
06:22It was very travelling.
06:24I think Gauhar said in one of the interviews that we shot in all the suburbs.
06:27So I think we shot in Kashmir, we shot up north.
06:30So it was a lot of fun.
06:32That team was great as well.
06:34So yeah, I think Abhi was a good option.
06:36Abhi, give us a sneak peek. What's your character?
06:38What are you doing? What's happening in the movie?
06:40What am I doing?
06:42My character Abhi is very similar to the way she speaks and everything.
06:47It's very similar to who I am as well.
06:49Like you know, pulling people's legs.
06:52Always having fun in a way.
06:55Always being fun as well.
06:57Being empathetic.
06:59You are being yourself in the movie?
07:01Quite a bit. Yeah, quite a bit.
07:03What is your Pakistani favourite film?
07:06Pakistani favourite film?
07:08From today or from the past?
07:09From today or from the past?
07:11Whichever you like.
07:13I mean, it's a very dirty answer.
07:15But Maula Chutne Jo Chatte Bhaar Di Hai.
07:18I honestly think it's hard to choose one after that.
07:21But saying that, in the past I loved the film Churiyan.
07:24Oh God, I loved Churiyan too.
07:26Churiyan and Nikah.
07:28Nikah was also a beautiful film, I think.
07:30By the way, is there a love show scene going on?
07:33What?
07:35I have questions about the film.
07:37I asked because you wanted to do an intense romantic drama.
07:42Has that been fulfilled or not?
07:44No, that wish hasn't been fulfilled yet.
07:46It hasn't been fulfilled yet.
07:48And I really hope I get a good intense love story on screen to play.
07:52Because the act is very beautiful.
07:54I want to show it.
07:56To all the directors and producers and writers.
07:58Please make me an intense love story.
08:01Have you ever had a creepy stalker fan?
08:03No.
08:05I actually experienced it.
08:07There was this one person who called me for a couple of years.
08:10From different numbers.
08:12And that was very scary for me.
08:14So how did you get rid of it?
08:16Eventually my number changed.
08:19Good for you.
08:21It was a long time ago.
08:23And then I got saved.
08:25By the way, who is your favourite?
08:27Gauhar Rashid or Usman Mukhtar?
08:29The question is obviously Gauhar Rashid.
08:31Why would I say Usman Mukhtar?
08:33Usman has already said that you guys are very good friends.
08:37Why are you saying Usman Mukhtar?
08:39Usman and I are not like brothers and sisters.
08:42We just keep scolding each other.
08:46That's how we are.
08:48We're actually in a gamers gang.
08:50And we're great.
08:52Honestly speaking, he's such a good friend of mine.
08:54I genuinely love the guy.
08:56But it's Gauhar.
08:58Funny thing is, there was an interview he gave.
09:00And he said that he doesn't want to work with me.
09:01And I took major offense to that, Usman Mukhtar.
09:04And I think I didn't do anything that you shouldn't do.
09:08I'm kidding.
09:10I was not serious.
09:12I was joking.
09:14So funny thing is, when that interview happened.
09:16I was sent to our gamers gang.
09:20And they asked me what I was saying.
09:22And I was like, I know it was a joke obviously.
09:24And I know that he must have added to it.
09:26But he became so conscious.
09:28He actually called me and said, you know it was a joke, right?
09:31And I was like, chill Joey.
09:33I know it's a joke.
09:35That's how they edit things.
09:37So it's completely fine.
09:39But he's a dear friend of mine.
09:41He's honestly like, he's not a joker.
09:43He's like, you go, you go.
09:45We have a lot of fun.
09:47We have a lot of siblings fights.
09:49Non-mother relationship.
09:51Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:53So we never give a straight answer.
09:55When our name comes up in interviews, we never give a straight answer.
09:57But that does not mean that we have any less respect or love for each other.
09:59He's a wonderful actor, really highly.
10:01I respect him so much.
10:03Although he's very annoying.
10:05Exactly, you did the same thing.
10:07But you mentioned the gamers clan.
10:09Tell us a bit about it.
10:11What games do you play?
10:13So in the gamers clan, the funny thing is,
10:15I used to play a couple of games like Mortal Kombat Tekken,
10:18Destiny, stuff like that.
10:20Formula 1.
10:22And then these guys came along in my life.
10:24And they played GTA.
10:26So now we play Destiny and GTA.
10:27And recently we switched to this game called Helldivers 2.
10:30If you're a gamer, you guys have to try Helldivers 2.
10:33It's so good.
10:35It's so addictive, it's unreal.
10:37Either way, love, money or peace?
10:39Peace.
10:41Yeah, without a doubt, peace.
10:43If there's peace, then there's love.
10:45If there's love, then there's prayer.
10:47It's a matter of hand.
10:49It happens.
10:51Coffee or coffee?
10:53Tea.
10:55And what's the combination of tea and chocolate?
10:57It doesn't always happen,
10:59but I like to have something with my tea all the time.
11:02Like cake crust, chocolate brownie, something like that.
11:05So this is one chocolate that I am obsessed with since childhood.
11:09Thierry's Orange Flavoured Chocolate.
11:12But when you dip it in tea, it's so good.
11:16I'm sorry, I cannot. It's so good.
11:18So I have to do that.
11:20What's your skin routine?
11:22My skin routine is that I do drink a lot of water.
11:24Right now, I've broken out a little bit
11:26because I had an allergic reaction to something.
11:28But I drink a lot of water,
11:30wash my face every day,
11:32because it's very important.
11:34It's important to tone your skin,
11:36and you have to hydrate your skin topically as well.
11:38That's these three things that I do,
11:40like cleanse, tone, and hydrate as much as I can.
11:43And exfoliate.
11:45Oh, exfoliate, yes.
11:47But not every day, because otherwise, the skin gets stiff.
11:49And this is the result of that.
11:51I exfoliated extremely,
11:52and the next day, I woke up with two hellboy things.
11:55Twice a week, exfoliation works?
11:58I think it should be okay.
12:00It depends on your skin type.
12:02Some are sensitive, some aren't.
12:04I don't know what I did.
12:06What are you watching on Netflix these days?
12:08I'm watching on Netflix these days.
12:11Why am I watching on Netflix these days?
12:13I've just finished all the series.
12:15I just finished watching Queen of Tears,
12:17which is a Korean drama, which was fun.
12:19And I'm not watching anything right now.
12:20I'm not watching anything right now.
12:22I was watching this show called Geek Girl.
12:24It was okay.
12:26It was just a random background show.
12:28Other than that, I don't think I'm watching anything on Netflix.
12:31I'm watching something on Apple TV though.
12:34Okay.
12:36It's called Tad Lasso, and it's a very old show.
12:38But I've never seen it.
12:40So, yeah.
12:42If you had to recommend three K-Dramas, which would they be?
12:44K-Dramas?
12:46It's Okay to Not Be Okay, and
12:47Boys Over Flowers.
12:49Please don't judge me over this.
12:51I've seen it 23 times.
12:53I've seen it 23 times.
12:55One episode is over an hour long,
12:57and there are 24 episodes.
12:59So, you can imagine how obsessed I must be with that drama
13:01to watch it like 23 times.
13:03And so, Boys Over Flowers,
13:05It's Okay to Not Be Okay,
13:07and, oh, okay.
13:09These are like those cute, sappy dramas, right?
13:12They're either sappy or they have a lot of emotion.
13:14But two dramas I would recommend anybody
13:17boys as well to watch.
13:19One is Gyeongseong Creature,
13:21and the second is Bloodhound.
13:23Boys, if you think Korean dramas are just sappy, romantic stuff,
13:26no, they're not.
13:28Watch Bloodhound, and watch Gyeongseong Creature.
13:30You would love them.
13:32Oh, they're so good.
13:34That makes me want to start boxing.
13:36You didn't start boxing, did you?
13:38I did start kickboxing, actually.
13:40Okay, very nice.
13:42What's your relationship with Multan?
13:44I don't have a relationship with Multan,
13:45but I have a relationship with Kabirwala,
13:47which is about a half an hour drive from Multan.
13:50It's a city, a mini city.
13:52I was born there.
13:54So, I have a relationship with that place.
13:56Do you know how to speak Seraiki?
13:58Yes, a little bit.
14:00So, you can say any dialogue in Seraiki for our audience.
14:03A dialogue from a film?
14:05A dialogue from a film, a drama, whatever you like.
14:07So, there's a dialogue where she says,
14:09if anything happens to me, I'll never forgive myself.
14:11And, oh, I'm feeling shy.
14:13It's okay, say a little bit of Seraiki.
14:15If anything happens to me,
14:17I'll never forgive myself.
14:19Wow, that is amazing.
14:21Thank you so much, Kubra.
14:23We absolutely loved the interview.
14:25It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoyed it too.
14:27I did, I did. Thank you so much.
14:29Thank you. Okay, bye-bye.
